The Dragon and the Moonless Sky
Chapter 2: Infinite x Nothingness in Kuoh
~Enjoy~
After agreeing to teach Mugetsu about the world, Yasaka made a schedule with the man that allowed her to meet with him in between her duties as head of the Kyoto Youkai Faction. It was a pleasant experience, teaching such a bright young man. He paid rapt attention to every word she said and he was invested in every subject she covered.
He was also quite easy on the eyes. He stood at a tall 6'3" and was muscular but not overly bulky. Yasaka could tell he had seen many battles. He had a handsome face and a voice one could enjoy hearing each day. Indeed, Yasaka would not be opposed to claiming such a fine man for herself. In summary, it was an enjoyable experience to be in the company of Mugetsu.
Or at least, it would have been if not for the noticeable presence of the Infinite Dragon God.
During each meeting she was by his side, turning her gaze from the quiet intrigue of Mugetsu to the territorial mistrust she held for Yasaka. The nine-tailed fox could have found the time away from her duties as enjoyable but the Ouroboros Dragon's presence made it many times more stressful than her average council meetings.
The dynamic between Mugetsu and Ophis was fascinating, to say the least. Often times, she'd witness Mugetsu chastise the Infinite One on some of her actions. Ophis would also lend some words over the lessons given to Mugetsu on the supernatural world. In fact, she learned many things she never knew due to Ophis having had a much longer existence.
During this time, Yasaka found that Mugetsu was not of this world. The dimension he came from was desolated by a supernatural war. From the descriptions he gave of the beings he had fought, those two monsters were easily on par with or above many of this world's gods.
And Mugetsu was far above even those two.
Indeed, following his ascension into a greater being, Mugetsu recounted the battle he had against the two he called Aizen and Ywach. He recalled how he first slaughtered thousands of the enemy's army and confronted the two powers. From his retelling, he made the two look like two children fighting a fully grown lion.
Yasaka noticed how he smoothly avoided revealing any of his powers while giving a full description of the powers of those two tyrants. From his words, Yasaka herself doubted she could win against either of them, even with the Leylines. And Mugetsu beat them both simultaneously? And easily, at that? Yasaka had momentarily speculated that Mugetsu might have embellished the story a bit but immediately dismissed the thought as the man gave no indication of lying or exaggerating. That does make her wonder though.
How strong was Mugetsu truly?
And so, three months had passed since Yasaka had began acquainting Mugetsu with the world he now found himself in. When it was time for he and Ophis to leave, she had suggested for him to go to Kuoh. While it was set to be governed by two devil heiresses, it was considered neutral territory since the devils could only observe there with the permission of the Shinto faction.
Before leaving, Yasaka had asked Mugetsu what his plans were when he arrived in Kuoh. His answer was surprising but Yasaka wholeheartedly approved. A quick demonstration and Yasaka gave Mugetsu her full support to proceed. While Mugetsu initially wanted to protest her investment, she would not budge on the matter.
Walking them out, Yasaka handed Mugetsu a driver's license, a birth certificate, and a registration as proof that he is now a Japanese citizen. Mugetsu was stunned beyond belief. He noticed that she used the name "Shiba Mugetsu", with Shiba being his family name and Mugetsu being his given name. Mugetsu had asked why she chose 'Shiba' and not 'Kurosaki'. She told him it was because 'Kurosaki' was a part of Ichigo, and while 'Shiba' was also a part of Ichigo, it was not part of his identity. Mugetsu Shiba is proof that he could move forward without forgetting the past. And for that, Mugetsu was eternally grateful.
Afterwards, Yasaka handed Mugetsu an envelope. Upon opening it, he saw it contained a car title and registration, two deeds to two properties in Kuoh Town, and four keys. Two keys belonged to the properties he now owned, one belonged to the car, and one belonged to a storage rental. Mugetsu stopped trying to keep Yasaka from giving him gifts at this point.
The car was a bit much though. It was a brand new Maybach S-680. Did she really need to spoil him this much? Shaking his head, he seated himself comfortably in the driver's seat while Ophis situated himself in the passenger's seat.
Mugetsu and Ophis soon departed from Kyoto with the full support of Yasaka and the Youkai faction. While not being allied to them, Mugetsu had friends he could call on for help. While their relationship came with a rocky start, full of fear and mistrust from the youkai due to Ophis' momentary rage, the few youkai who were privy to the situation soon warmed up to Mugetsu and came to accept Ophis' presence as well.
Before leaving, Ophis made sure to advise Yasaka that her telling of their activities in Kyoto would prove to be unhealthy for the nine-tailed vixen. Yasaka got the message loud and clear and reminded herself why she hated that damned Dragon God.
(At the Grigori)
(With Azazel)
"Are these reports accurate, Shemhazai?", the Fallen Angel Governor asks his trusted colleague and friend.
Shemhazai nods. "Yes. Apparently, for the past three months, the Ouroboros Dragon and the strange man have been seen in the company of Yasaka. For what reason remains unclear. The youkai are being tight lipped about their presence for fear of retaliation. From Ophis or the strange man, we do not know."
Azazel rubs his chin in contemplation. It isn't possible to contact Yasaka directly since the current relationship between the Youkai and the Fallen Angels is fragile, to put it mildly. And should they do anything to anger the Infinite Dragon God, it won't end well... for them, at least.
But it begs to question, why were the mysterious pair seen in company of the Youkai leader for such an extended period of time? Azazel, with the limited knowledge he has on the Dragon God, knows that she is a being that acts without reason. Well, without what would be called reason to the beings he is accustomed to dealing with. Azazel knows that the Four Devil Kings would act in a way that would benefit not only themselves but the devil race as a whole. One could easily call them viciously precise. Azazel also knows that Michael would act in a way that benefits Heaven and would never willingly risk the lives of innocent humans. Azazel himself would admit to being a shrewd and selfish being.
But again, what would cause Ophis to make the decisions she's made in regard to herself and this mysterious newcomer? The thing about knowing what drives Heaven and the Devils is that Azazel could predict their movements, and he has done so on many occasions. Ophis' seemingly random behavior could be seen as unimportant, but it's the enemy you don't consider to always be the one to end you.
So Azazel finds himself at a loss to how he should proceed. All things considered, it's the man she is always seen in company with that he should keep a close eye on. Nobody likes an unknown. And while Ophis is, by all accounts, an unknown, this man is completely alien to him. He would need to rectify this.
Looking to Shemhazai, he asks, "Have the other factions made any indication that they are aware of Ophis' presence?"
Shemhazai shakes his head. "No. To our knowledge, we are the only ones who know of this."
Azazel nods. "Good. Keep it that way. As far as I know, I'm the only one in the Biblical Factions to have encountered Ophis and lived. It seems she's making an effort to keep her presence and that of this strange man a secret. Send only your most trusted scouts to keep an eye on them."
The Fallen Angel cadre nods affirmatively. "The last report indicates that they are heading towards Kuoh."
Azazel frowns. "That's not good. It seems that they'll possibly come into contact with those two devil heiresses."
Shemhazai grimaces as well. Regardless of their noble lineages, the two girls are just children. And Ophis would not hesitate to destroy them if they do anything to anger her, which is a high probability. Shemhazai then asks, "Then how should we proceed?"
Azazel's frown deepens. "We can't send amateurs to monitor Kuoh. That would only serve to agitate both the devil heiresses and Ophis. Monitor both the movements of Ophis and her 'friend' and monitor the devil heiresses as well. We need to be prepared in case this all goes to shit."
Which it will. As Murphy's Law states, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong."
(In the Underworld)
(With Sirzechs)
If the one who ever invented paperwork were condemned to Hell, Sirzechs would personally see to his eternal torment. Paperwork. Fucking paperwork. Paperwork was the reason his workload was so unbearable. Paperwork was the reason he couldn't spend more time with his adorable little sister, Ria-tan. Paperwork was the reason his beloved wife, Grayfia, had been so cold in forcing him to work harder so that he could finish it all. As if this mountain of trash could ever be finished in one devil's lifespan!
In the three months following the shockwave that reverberated throughout the supernatural world, the devils could not locate the cause of the event. Ajuka Beelzebub, his fellow Devil King and best friend, sent a team to investigate and found the source of the shockwave in a small forest clearing outside of Kyoto. His conclusion was that it was "an extradimensional distortion," which was confusing, to say the least.
According to Ajuka, a dimensional gateway had been forcefully opened, causing a shockwave due to the excess energy being released. The amount of power needed to do so, according to him, would have been astronomical.
It was the kind of power that would have been very noticeable.
So that rules out any hypothesis indicating someone from this world being the one to open the gateway. The fallout of the event had sent the youkai in a frenzy, believing that they were being attacked due to the close proximity of the shockwave. A frenzy that put them on high alert but allowed someone to take advantage of the chaos if they were careful.
It was this reasoning that gave Sirzechs pause for concern. Two individuals had been seen in frequent company of Yasaka, the Youkai Leader, in the months following the event. Sirzechs had seen the pictures. Something about them didn't feel right. He'd never seen their faces before but they felt off.
The man was handsome, if he dared say so himself. Long black hair and striking red eyes, well built, imposing figure. He'd have to make sure he kept him away from his Ria-tan. Nobody deserved his precious little sister.
The girl was another story. Tall for a woman, similar black hair, cold black eyes, shapely figure hidden by a black sundress. She was beautiful, even by supernatural standards. Her pointed ears made her even more exotic in appearance.
But the fact that Yasaka gave them a considerable amount of her time made her worry. He had received reports that a formidable amount of power was felt hours after the shockwave that sent all those present at Yasaka's temple to the ground gasping for air. Structural damage was also reported and a few youkai had reportedly been knocked unconscious immediately.
The power was apparently contained to the temple grounds only and not even an inkling was felt elsewhere. It was a worrying prospect as that level of power and control was on par with or above himself and Ajuka. A being like that should be someone he knows of.
But who?
It would be safe to assume that the show of power came from one of the two strangers he'd seen. They could have coaxed Yasaka to work for them or something of the sort. He'd also seen photos of the trio walking together and the atmosphere seemed amiable, friendly even.
But the reason for it all remained unclear. You could never be too safe with the supernatural. He sent a team personally to observe them and is awaiting their latest report.
Releasing a groan of exhaustion, Sirzechs stretches his stiff limbs before perusing through the various documents that littered his desk. One he came across caused him a grimace. 'Motion to Advance the Unity between the Gremory and Phenix houses.'
Right. Rias' forced engagement to that piss ant Riser. Sirzechs has been using his influence to stall any attempts to push forward the marriage but the council and, most annoyingly, the Great King Faction have been pushing for this to proceed faster. It's as if the Underworld as a whole have been moving to further cement Rias' suffering.
But Sirzechs would not give so easily. He had seen two wars and firmly established his power during both. He had been made King of the Devils, not only for his power, but also his skill in politics. He had time. He will make this work. He will save his precious sister from a lifetime of suffering one way or another.
Lucifer was not simply a title, it was his identity now.
He was The Devil.
And he will show them just what it means to dance with The Devil.
(Kuoh Town)
(With Mugetsu and Ophis)
Arriving in Kuoh Town, Mugetsu immediately to the address Yasaka had on the property title. He again found himself shaking his head in exasperation. That woman really didn't know how to limit herself.
The house was not a mansion, nor was it even an estate, but it was certainly more expensive than what an average middle class family could afford. Mugetsu parked his new car in the spacious four car attached garage and walked in through the garage entrance. Yeah, this is a bit much.
Mugetsu's nostrils were immediately assaulted by the 'new house smell', indicating that the house was recently built and he was the first owner. The kitchen was spacious even with the island and it had a large six-burner gas stove. All the appliances had a black finish and the countertops were black and white marble. The cabinets had a deep brown wood finish as well.
Mugetsu decided to explore the rest of the house as well, with Ophis following close by. It was every bit as roomy as he had thought and Yasaka made sure to have it fully furnished to the highest quality. Having a house to call his own like this truly brought a melancholy thought to him.
He truly wished his family was here to share it with them.
Another thought brought him out of his reverie. Turning to Ophis, he asked, "Where would you like to stay, Ophis?"
Without hesitation, she replied, "With you."
The answer stunned him for a moment. He felt a small blush form on his cheeks before elaborating, "No, I mean which room do you want?"
"Yours."
Mugetsu shook his head in fond exasperation. Honestly, this girl. Sure, he shared a room with Ophis in Kyoto, but the two had separate beds. Now, Mugetsu would be taking the master bedroom and the Infinite Dragon God is implying that she wishes to share the bed with him.
In the past, he would have adamantly refused, blabbering on about boundaries and indecency. But the past twelve years had changed him. He spent many nights with different women, burning off the stress of war and indulging in the pleasures of flesh with women he knew, women he loved, and women he had bedded once only to never see them again.
In response, Mugetsu gave the Dragon God a warm smile and asked, "You mean you want to share my room with me?" The girl nodded. "I can deal with that. I'm gonna go take a shower and then we can get ready for bed."
It was as Mugetsu headed off towards the master bathroom that Ophis grew curious.
Having stripped himself of his clothing, Mugetsu stepped into the shower. It was as the warm water began to fall across his body that he felt a presence behind him. Turning quickly, his eyes were greeted with the naked form of Ophis.
As Mugetsu turned to face her, Ophis felt her eyes travel down. "Big."
Mugetsu nearly choked. "Well... thank you for the compliment, Ophis, but why are you in here with me?"
She slightly tilted her head to the side in a cute fashion. "I was curious about showering."
Mugetsu thought about it for a moment. 'Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen her go for a shower while we were in Kyoto.' He then asked, "You've never showered before?" She shakes her head. "Then all you've ever done was bathe?"
Again, she shakes her head no before explaining, "My power keeps me clean. It prevents dirt and sweat from clinging to my body."
That actually explains a lot. Mugetsu never actually had an odor or felt dirty after transcending but he bathed and showered out of habit and because it felt nice. He asks, "Then, I suppose you want to shower with me?"
She nods. "Yes. That is why I am here. Show me how to shower."
And try his best not to poke her in the back with a boner, but that part will remain unsaid.
'Honestly, she either doesn't realize just how beautiful she is or she simply doesn't care.' Mugetsu thinks to himself as he begins to lather her body with the simple lavender body wash provided in the shower by Yasaka. Mugetsu did not fail to notice that there were men's and women's scents available. 'Willing to bet she did that knowing something like this would happen.'
As he began lathering her body, Mugetsu could not help but marvel at the near perfection he'd describe as Ophis' body. No blemishes, flawless skin, incredibly enticing curves. She was not overly busty and curvy like Rangiku, nor was she as athletic and firm as Yoruichi.
How does he know? Experience, wink.
Ophis' body was curvy with just the right amount of firmness. She had a generous C-cup bust with perfectly proportioned hips and an equally gifted derriere. Her skin was as smooth as cream and the light noises she made as his hands roamed over certain areas made it nearly impossible to stop himself from taking her right here.
Finishing up, Mugetsu says, "I'm done now, Ophis. Just let the water wash the suds away while I lather myself and we'll do our hair afterwards." Turning around, Mugetsu began to clean himself. He didn't notice that Ophis turned her own attention to him.
Without knowing why, Ophis found herself entranced by Mugetsu's body. She knew that he was an attractive specimen, judging by the looks other women, as well as that rotten fox Yasaka, gave him as they beheld his figure. Ophis allowed herself to appreciate his form. The well defined muscles that laced his back, the numerous scars he sported from his time as a mortal, the lightly tanned complexion of his skin.
Ophis even found herself staring at his well defined glutes.
Noticing that he couldn't reach the space of his back properly, something compelled Ophis to act. Reaching up, she grabbed Mugetsu's sponge and began scrubbing the area for him. It surprised Mugetsu before he replied, "Thank you, Ophis."
She nods. "You are welcome."
He takes the sponge and rinses it out before grabbing his shampoo and applying it to his hair. As the water began to cascade down his back, Ophis once again found herself entranced by his masculine form. Without thinking, her hands began to caress the dense muscles along his back.
The action surprised Mugetsu once again. "Ophis?"
Without thinking, she replies, "You... are strong."
With a smile, he allowed her hands to continue exploring him. No other words were exchanged as the transcendent couple continued to bask in each other's company, the only other sound being the cascading water accompanying the otherwise welcomed silence.
Exiting the shower, Mugetsu clothed himself in his chosen sleepwear. Yasaka had provided clothing for both he and Ophis to wear, should they choose. In similar fashion as the house, the clothes were all name-brand of the highest quality. Mugetsu was nervous to ever find out just how much money Yasaka spent on him and Ophis.
Turning to look at the Dragon God, he noticed that she once again summoned her trademark black sundress. Curious, he asked, "Ophis, would you like to try wearing something else to bed?" Without answering, the girl dispelled her dress, leaving Mugetsu to suspect that she never manifested any undergarments beneath it.
Looking through the dressers, he picked out some suitable panties and a black nightgown he figured would suit her. Turning to Ophis, he says, "Here you go." She looks at the garments before eyeing him and tilting her head questioningly.
Mugetsu sighs. "Right. Magic."
He kneels down and spreads the panties in a way that Ophis could fit in them. "Right, so step on foot through each of the holes." She does so and he pulls them up onto her in a comfortable way. Taking the nightgown, he indicates for her to do the same. Pulling the fabric up onto her body, he settles her arm through both of the straps and fits them onto her shoulders. He smiles and looks at her, "There. Comfortable?" She takes a moment to consider before nodding.
"Good. Let's go to bed."
The two settle in for the night, Mugetsu lying on his back on the extremely comfortable bed and Ophis lying on her side, facing him. Before falling asleep, Mugetsu says, "Goodnight, Ophis."
Thinking for a moment, she responds, "Goodnight... Mugetsu."
Stunned momentarily, he simply smiles before drifting off in a comfortable sleep, with his Dragon God by his side.
(Dimensional Gap)
(With Mugetsu and Ophis)
"Wow. So this is what the Dimensional Gap looks like? It's nothing like the Dangai back at home."
Mugetsu observed his surroundings as he stepped into the Dimensional Gap. It was beautiful. And like Ophis said, it was silent unless someone made noise. It was a beautiful blend of colors, a sort of peaceful chaos that Mugetsu could lose himself within.
It's been several weeks since he settled down in Kuoh. After exploring the town and getting situated, Mugetsu went to the other property Yasaka had procured for him. While the handouts had started to annoy him, he was happy with the plot of land. He contacted Yasaka and said that he was ready to move forward.
Wanting to avoid attention from the supernatural, Mugetsu and Yasaka agreed to go through the necessary procedures mandated by the mundane world. That meant a lot of permits, a lot of paperwork, and a lot of time. Time that Mugetsu and Ophis soon grew bored with.
Finding nothing else to do, Mugetsu approached Ophis about finding an area to train. He wanted someplace where he could let loose without drawing the attention of the different factions as well as not worry about killing regular humans. Nodding, Ophis brought him to a place in the Dimensional Gap.
However, the moment Mugetsu stepped into the Dimensional Gap, he had felt more alive than ever before. It felt as though something within him connected to the ever present void he found himself in. Mugetsu felt as powerful as ever since his transcendence. But now, he felt as though he had no equal.
"I was right."
Mugetsu turned to look at Ophis who stepped into the Gap soon after him. He questioned, "What do you mean?"
She gave him a rare smile. Ophis never showed her smile to anyone, but she found herself smiling more and more in this man's presence. "About you."
The answer only served to confuse Mugetsu even more. "Could you explain?"
Ophis turned and looked out at the dreamscape she called her home. "Normal beings could not survive here. Unless one's power could stand against the nothingness within the Dimensional Gap, they would die instantly upon coming here."
She turns back to Mugetsu. "But you are different." Her smile became more sincere, a look that Mugetsu found himself entranced with. She continues, "Before you, only two beings could exist here without using their power to protect themselves."
Mugetsu took a guess, "Yourself and the Great Red."
Ophis nods. "I was born here. My body draws energy from the nothingness with the Dimensional Gap." She paused for a moment. "Great Red, too, must have been born within the Dimensional Gap, as his body does the same." Mugetsu notices her eyes begin to twinkle as she continues. "But you are different."
He blinks in surprise. "In what way?"
"Every way." She pauses before continuing. "You are not protecting yourself with your energy." Mugetsu's eyes widen in surprise. It was true, he never covered himself with his energy before coming here. "The Dimensional Gap is welcoming you. You are not drawing power from the nothingness, the nothingness is giving itself to you."
So that was why he felt so much greater when he first stepped foot in here. It was true, his power was the Power of Nothingness. It was in his name, literally 'Nothing Moon'. But he had no idea that the Nothingness he used to kill Ywach and Aizen would be so literal in this world.
"You truly are perfect..."
The heartfelt words Ophis had spoken made Mugetsu pause wide eyed as he looked into her endless black gaze. She never wavered in her stare, the gentle smile still gracing her lips. Mugetsu held his gaze as well, taking in her beautiful figure in the ambience of the Dimensional Gap. He had always known she was beautiful, from the moment he first laid eyes on her. But now, her allure is as infinite as her title.
Breaking first, Mugetsu clears his throat. "Right, well... I'll... go ahead and get started." Ophis nods.
Walking a distance away, she watched as he dispelled his casual attire that he wore this morning and manifested the strange bandages and hakama she saw from when he arrived. She observed him as he began with stretches, following soon with various hand to hand katas he must have learned from his previous world. Finishing up with his bare handed skills, he then formed two blades, one in each hand, and moved on training his sword katas. Ophis noted that his technique appeared honed and refined, obviously forged in years of endless battle and strife.
Finishing up with the swords, he willed them away before cracking his knuckles. "Alright," she heard him say. "Let's test out my other techniques." Pointing his index finger to the endless nothingness in the distance, she saw a small black orb appear before the tip of his nail. He uttered a single phrase and a massive beam of black energy exploded in the distance. Ophis' eyes widened at the amount of power she felt.
"Wow. I guess I need to hold back even more. I tried taking into account the energy I'm gathering here but I guess I need to practice it a bit more." Ophis gazed out towards the place where the explosion occurred and saw that he had dispersed the Dimensional Gap's ambient energy from a large part of the surrounding area. It was already reforming but that is a testament to the power he Nothingness bends to his will.
He repeated the process another three times before he was satisfied. Giving a pleased smile, he moves on to another technique. Aiming an opened palm to the area in the distance, a larger black orb formed before Mugetsu uttered a different phrase. The beam this time was much larger, ripping through space in exploding in a force so violent it even made Ophis flinch and shield herself with her arms.
The destruction this time was far more vast. The distance now looked as though you were gazing into an empty night sky. And this time, the Dimensional Gap was reforming at much slower rate. Ophis was aware that Mugetsu was powerful, but this power could match her own.
Feeling that he was beginning to gain a grasp on the power he was absorbing from the Gap, Mugetsu smiled. Reaching out with both palms facing the black distance, two orbs formed in his hands before he performed the technique again. The resulting explosion was much greater and he saw that Ophis formed a barrier around herself to shield her from the blast.
Ophis observed that now, the power Mugetsu released caused noticeable ripples and swirling distortions in the space where the attack hit. She looked to Mugetsu who was simply smiling, not even remotely winded from the energy he had been using. The power she felt from him was astounding.
Unbeknownst to her, she wasn't the only one who felt it.
(With Sirzechs)
The Lucifer had been busy with his paperwork when a shockwave that seemingly came from everywhere rocked his office and sent stacks of papers flying around his office. While he could deal with that later, he wondered what had caused such a phenomenon.
Ajuka soon came busting through the door. "Sirzechs! What happened?!"
Looking at his friend, he shook his head. "I don't know. But we need to find out! Make sure the citizens are unharmed and then search for the source of the anomaly!"
Ajuka nods, "Right!" He rushes out the room, leaving Sirzechs alone.
The Crimson Lucifer frowns. 'Just what the hell is happening now.' Noticing the picture lying on his desk, he thinks, 'Is it you?'
Similarly, in Heaven and at the Grigori, both factions are also scrambling to find out what was going on. But a similarly likeminded Fallen Angel Governor was suspecting that a certain black haired newcomer was responsible.
(With Mugetsu and Ophis)
Patting his hands together as if he was cleaning them of dust, Mugetsu says, "Well. Let's try one more technique and call it a day." He turns to Ophis with a grin. "You ready?" Said girl tilts her head questioningly.
Raising his right hand with his index finger and middle finger pointing outwards towards the distance, a black and white swirling orb forms at his fingertips. Ophis noticed the difference in color. Without skipping a beat, Mugetsu utters a single phrase. "Absoluta Nulla."
And the whole dimension was bathed in a blinding black and white glory.
(In the Underworld)
The shockwave was immense. All the Satans felt as though a nuclear bomb was dropped right on the city of Lilith. Building were leveled, windows were shattered, and the entire city suffered a massive power outage.
Lucifer castle suffered many structural fractures and Sirzechs rushed to find his beloved wife, Grayfia, to make sure she was ok. The whole of devil society was in a panic, terrified of the power they felt.
(In the Grigori)
The Fallen Angels were in a similar panic. The energy they felt caused many structures to crumble and many electronics to explode. The Grigori's sensors were completely fried.
But that was the least of Azazel's concerns at the moment. The amount of power he felt was titanic. He wondered if Ophis and Great Red were fighting. Or if this was simply a show of the newcomer's horrible strength.
In some way or form, he knew those two were responsible for this.
(With Mugetsu and Ophis)
She did not know what to make of this. The barriers she had erected shattered immediately and the blast sent her flying. She felt burns on her skin and her eyes hurt from being blinded by the light. Her heart was pounding and she felt a substance trickling down the side of her face. Sweat? She was sweating?
Is this what fear was?
Looking towards Mugetsu, she saw the expression on his face. Concern. He was worried for her. He asked in a desperate voice, "Ophis! Are you ok?!"
She paused before nodding. "I am fine. My barriers were not strong enough to protect me." He looked at her wounds that were already healing. She says, "Do not worry. I am not hurt."
He sighed in relief, "Thank goodness. I wouldn't know what to do if I hurt you."
Her eyes widened at his words. 'He is worried about hurting me? He... cares for me?'
Looking out to the vast depths of the Dimensional Gap, she saw that the attack cause tears to form in the space where the explosion occurred. Ophis knew that the energy was felt beyond the Gap.
Turning to Mugetsu, she says, "You are powerful. Perhaps even more so than I. But beware, the energy you released was felt by the worlds beyond."
Mugetsu nods. He admits that he might have gotten carried away. Flexing his hands, he could honestly say that the power he gained from being in the Dimensional Gap was exhilarating, intoxicating even. But Ophis was right. He doesn't know who could have felt the power he used. And they'll more than likely send people out to investigate. He doesn't want people to come trying to recruit him for his power.
Mugetsu knows he can't avoid getting involved in the supernatural. Hell, he became involved the moment he arrived here. And now he was friendly with the Youkai faction and he has Ophis as his companion.
Ophis.
The more he thought about their relationship, the more he finds himself wanting it to continue. He'd be lost without her, or at least tied up in some things he'd rather not be involved in. But she came to him, the first being he'd ever met in this world. And now he's grown to care for her greatly and found her as someone he could never replace.
He wonders if she feels the same.
Ophis looks around before saying, "It would be best if we leave. Someone or something will come investigating."
Mugetsu nods, having been broken from his reverie. "Right. Let's-"
Before he could finish, a portal opened beside him. The being it revealed made Ophis scowl at the sight of.
A booming voice resounded, "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE?!" The massive dragon's eyes then met with the cold black ones of Ophis. He growled out, "Ophis. I should have known."
She returned the growl. "Great Red."
