When I first arrived in Skyrim, I thought I was dead.
I remembered going to sleep in my bed, Only to wake up in the middle of the night with a splitting migraine and the urge to throw up. My stomach was churning, hurrying me to empty its contents.
I rushed to my bathroom, but I accidentally stepped on my cat's tail on the way there, scaring it into jumping onto me, which caused me to slip and fall, hitting my head on the ground in an odd angle.
And then darkness.
I woke up in the town of Morthal, my body having been discovered by the local Alchemist as she was searching the Drajkmyr Marsh for ingredients.
The Alchemist, Lami, and her husband Jorgen, took care of me until I was healthy enough to leave, Two weeks I spent with those two, learning Alchemy from Lami whenever my body allowed it.
It was during my stay with the family that I met Jarl Idgrod Ravencrone, Who came to visit the mysterious stranger who was found blacked out in the Marsh.
She took one look at me, nodded her head, and left. Her eyes stared through me as if she was looking past me at something invisible in the distance.
Seeing as how she is known to have prophetic visions, that made sense.
After I was healthy enough to leave, I was given a small amount of gold from the family and sent on my way, Leaving the town of Morthal behind.
I had to try and remember a lot of information about a game I hadn't played in years if I wanted not to die a horrible death once more, So I practiced with the little I managed to learn in my short time in Morthal.
Alchemy, and Alteration.
"We are gathered here today-" I tuned out the words leaving the Priest of Arkay's mouth as we stood outside of Solitude's Hall of the Dead.
It was the Funeral of the kindest man I ever met, in both lives, High King Torygg.
If memory serves me right, It won't be long before Ulfric Stormcloak gets captured by the Legion and brought to Helgen for his execution, where the events of the game finally start to take place.
I give it a week before the news reaches us, But for now, I have much more important things to take care of.
After giving my respect to Torygg and wishing Elisif to be well, I take my leave.
There is no time to grieve, There is work to be done.
I enter Proudspire Manor, ready to give my orders to my assistant.
"Jordis, I need you to look over the house while I'm out, I want you to make sure nothing is missing when I return," I quickly tell my Housecarl before I walk down the stairs into the basement and turn to the blue-robed Imperial mage.
"Illia, I have a job for you," I tell my most trusted follower, who helped me reach where I am now.
Using my knowledge of Skyrim, I managed to accomplish many things that would make my life here easier, One of which was detailed in an In Game quest.
Unfathomable Depths.
I would have died in my attempt to complete that quest if I didn't have Illia with me, She was there when I started the Goldfinger Company and has been my right-hand woman ever since.
"I want you to ready a week of education and learning for the people of Whiterun, make it friendly for children, teach them how to cook and about some of the creatures they may find outside the city walls," The Goldfinger Company is how I use my wealth and knowledge, We do construction, education, mining, and trade.
All to make Skyrim a better place to live in.
"No hello? You leave for Torygg's funeral and you immediately have more work to do?" Illia asked with a raised brow, turning away from the alchemy table.
I pause and let out a sigh, "Hello Illia, hope you're doing well, I have a job for you to do, Take some of our guys and get it done. I want you in Whiterun in 10 days, I'll be there sometime during the week once you start, I have some matters in the area to attend,"
"Suit yourself, I'll be taking the Orsimer Siblings if that's okay with you," Illia said and went back to her work.
"It's fine, Chief Larak wanted to speak with me about his children anyways, It'll be good for him to hear that they're traveling the land," I told Illia who replied with a hum.
With my orders delivered, I tapped my short staff on the floor and let the Long-range Teleportation spell take effect, Sending my body to one of many teleportation runes I placed in secure locations around Skyrim.
There is no end to the work a Thane must do.
But I shall do it anyways.
