A woman, a young boy, and a massive creature ran through the forest. The creature cleared a path before them, uncaring of the noise or indeed any objects in its way, as an intense war was fought all around them. Suddenly, a deafening roar and beam of the brightest light any of them had ever seen headed straight their way!
The woman threw the boy as far away as she could, wincing when he hit the ground hard and didn't move. While the large blue toned creature stood tall and formed a barrier between them and the beam of brightest light. However, it wasn't enough.
The beam tore through trees, disintegrating them as it closed in on the barrier raised by the creature. The woman closed her eyes and screamed as a thick aura of purple engulfed her, she quickly put her hands on the creature's back and fed the purple energy into it causing the barrier to shine brighter.
It wasn't enough. The beam tore through the barrier like paper, blowing the creature and woman away into the trees and continued on unimpeded. Long seconds later, the beam of energy faded away, leaving a view straight from its source through the forest. A large orange creature, easily triple the size of the blue creature roared its challenge to the heavens as it flew faster than the eye could follow into the night sky. The sounds of battle, cries of human and creature alike continued on, uncaring of the plight of the small family caught in the way.
The large creature that tried to protect the woman laid dead on the bloody forest floor. The woman, barely clinging to life, crawled towards the creature, "Queenie..." she croaked out and raised her hand towards the creature, only to collapse limp on the ground.
Elsewhere, an old man closed his eyes for the last time, as the young boy snapped awake with a gasp.
