Summary:
One day, a book fell on her head.
Fontina Ori-chan: I don't own TVD or TO! And yes, that's all for the summary. The main character is Elena and, of course, Kol. This is an inspired story from a manhwa that i read to the point i cried for it. It's name was 'No place for the fake princess' pretty good, though people couldn't accept some characters because they held grudges. I only hate the 'real' princess. Aside that, i hope you'll find this one interesting. *smile*
Chapter 1:
She was walking around the playground. Nothing too special. Everyone were busy, so she just had to entertain herself, since no one wanted to play with boring Elena, apparently!
Elena was bored, though. There was nothing to do, just walking and observing the things around her, which was woods and the street lamps, the flowers, and it was boring! Elena had been doing this for awhile now. It's so boring. She already know every corner and nook of the playground. Her father was nowhere to be found after he left her here and told her to not play faraway.
(with deadpan) To the point that she remembered the words of the worn out sticker that was sticked on the side of the sand box.
Elena sighed. She knew from the start that no one would play with her. Everyone was busy! And they don't want to play with her because she was boring and weird! She was eight, not stupid. Not stupid enough to not know that her dad was leaving her all by herself so he can go and see the pretty doctor at the hospital!
Ugh. This is annoying. Elena thought sourly with a crunched nose.
Just as she thought like that, something heavy hit her head and made her fall to the ground with a loud thud. "Owwie!" Elena said as she rubbed her growing swollen head.
Elena whimpered when she feels the hit had made to her head. She was blaming dad on this! Ugh, if only he didn't leave her alone in this EMPTY playground! She pouted before looking at what had hit her.
Her eyes blown wide with curiosity as she saw a book. It was quite the big book that adults would read. Elena had been able to read and had started to read big books, too! So, she picked the book up and look at the book cover.
It was an interesting cover image. With three people, two boy sandwiching a girl. The girl was very pretty! Even with the red dress that Elena think would be better if it was yellow or blue instead of red. But aside that, the novel title was pretty! Well, the font is. It was called 'The Vampire Diaries'.
. . . .
Vampires! Aren't they scary bloody monsters that dad always warned her about? Well- where did this book come from anyway?
Elena looked around the place, before she looked up to where the book had fallen on her head previously. and her eyes sparkled when she sees more books! It was placed on a wide trunk of trees and there were a few more books like this one.
She was suddenly full of energy.
Elena wanted to read those books! And she will get it- wait, what if there are owner of those books? But if there are, why did they put the books there? Well, she could ask her dad to make a place for her on that tree, like a tree house! Wait, that's a good idea! Let's ask him to make a tree house! That's the least he can do for her after leaving her all alone here, after all! Hehe.
Elena will read the books! But first, let's read this one first! As Elena said, She was eight, not stupid! She won't climb, she had seen someone fall of a trunk tree before, it hurt, they had blood from their heads, she doesn't want to be like that.
So, Elena sat down under the tree and read the book. This had to be interesting!
Elena throw the book away, her eyes wide with disbelief and terror.
The book was scary! It was scary! Aunt Jenna? Mom died- and dad too! Vampires? Were they real? The girl had names like hers, too! Elena Gilbert. Elena Gilbert. It was her name, right? They just had the same name! Yeah. But the girl also had a little brother with her little brother's name on it too. And her parents had the same name as hers, too. And then Auntie Jenna, too!
The vampires were real! And- they're scary. Really scary! What's happening? Why do the characters have the same name as Bonnie? And Caroline, too? There was no way this was real! But- but the place they lived in were- "Mystic... Falls?" she whispered those words. It was her town.
Elena was eight, but she wasn't stupid. But she was eight. Elena is eight. eight. The Elena in that book were seventeen.
Why...?
Elena forced her eyes closed, not wanting to think of anything or remembering the content of the book.
"Hey, are you alright?" Her head snapped up to look at the boy. He looked older, ten, his hair were weird, it was long, but that didn't hide the fact that he was handsome. And his clothes were also weird. It was rag? Old. Very old. Like those in history books she read at the town's library. What happened? What is this? Does the book want to make a point?
Elena have a hard time breathing. Not because of him, but because of shock from the book. The book that she forced herself to finish without skipping anything. One that she needed. Needed for the future. For her future.
But right now, she stare at the boy's eyes. It were looking at her with concern and she closed her eyes before opening them again. "Huh...?" he was still there, "Who ... are you?"
The boy frowned, then he smirked like a smug kitten! "I am Kol, the son of Mikael the Warrior and Esther the witch, and student of Ayanna the witch! Now who is you?"
Elena blinked a few times, "I- am Elena, the daughter of... Grayson and Miranda..? My dad is a doctor... wait, a witch... witches are real?" she asked curiously at him, who looked confused as much as she was.
"Of course witches are real! Am a witch myself, i inherited my magic from mother. What are you? Are you a witch as well? I can feel magic around you." He asked. He was speaking funny! But Elena gave him her bright smile.
"No! But my dad teached me how to fight!" She told him while punching thin air to demonstrate her words. Kol look at her with wide eyes.
"Fight? But girls are not allowed to fight... Have your father really taught you?" His questions make him earn Elena's head tilt to the side.
"Of course! Dad always tells me that i need to protect myself if he couldn't be with me. So he taught me, even though mom would be mad when i went home all sweaty... But it was fun!" Elena told him cheerfully.
Kol look at her with wide eyes, as if it could turn into a golf ball, "My father would never let girls fight! He told me that if a girl fought, they will get injuries and wouldn't be able to do chores! Well, he respects the ladies in our village that fought for themselves, i think Ayanna called them Shield Maidens." he frowned. "How about you follow me a little bit? You are not from here, are you? Let me show you around!"
Elena stare at the hand that he offered for her to take, with many thoughts going over her head, she accepted his offer and was pulled from the tree, "Ah, wait a minute!" He stopped moving and watched as she walked over to grab something off the ground. It was something he had never seen, he'll ask while they walk.
And they did, hand-in-hand, they walked through the forest, and Kol asked her, "What is that you have?" his gaze on the book.
Elena look at the book and answered, "this is a book! I found it and had been reading it before you came."
"Book? What is that?" He asked curiously.
She frowned, "It's... something that you read! You can also write on it because it's made of paper."
"Why is your paper so thin?"
"It's—"
Kol keep on asking about the book and Elena could only answer to the best she could. They went around the village, playing and Kol introducing her to the things that she asked just as she did him when he asked of some things about her. Though they both noticed how no one could see Elena, it was weird, but they think that maybe it was because they were normal people without magic, they thought that maybe Ayanna would be different. And then, they finally made it to Ayanna's home.
It was a simple home made of woods and dried weeds roof, a simple home that Elena feels warm on the inside. And it had it welcoming aura.
Kol stepped in front of the home's door and knocked. A black skinned woman opened the door for them, "Kol? What is it that you need?" She didn't even noticed Elena, and Kol frowned, Ayanna never had been someone that jokes around. Was it not his job?
"I met a girl in the woods and she had magic around her!" He told her.
"Oh? Can i meet this girl then, Kol?" The older witch asked with a warm smile. But Kol frowned at that.
"What? But Ayanna, she's over there." he gestured to where she was standing while holding the book to her chest. Ayanna's eyes widened and looked at where Kol were staring at.
"Can you not see her? She has-" "Kol, i have not seen anyone but you when i opened my abode. It is possible that she is your illusion." She did not mean any harm in her words, but Kol looked at Elena, whose eyes were wide and shaking her head at him, then motioned for him to not say anything.
"I... Yes, Ayanna, i will go now, i apologize for disturbing you.." he feel a hand on his head rubbing it.
"It is nothing, child. You can come back tomorrow for your lesson." Kol nodded before running away from the home.
Elena followed running after him, "Kol!" she called for him and he stopped at a tree then look at her.
"Elena, are you real?" He asked her, a little shaky. Elena was the first person who accepted him as a witch and befriended him, or him her, but that's beside the point. If she was only his illusion, he couldn't accept that.
"Of course! I am real, i don't know why you're the only one who can see me, but i am." She hugged him to prove her point. "But i need to go home... Can you take me to that tree again? Maybe there's magic there that can take me back home!" Elena try to smile to make him smile, too. She had come to accept that magic was real! So she had been thinking of a way to go home, and this was one of them. But the thought of her going 'home' didn't make him happy. He really liked Elena, she didn't scream or look at him weird when he told her he was a witch. But he noticed from when he found her and talked with her that she was not from here. Even her clothes said that much. And Elena had the same train of thought, she knows well that she was at the playground not in a forest, and Kol's attire were weird, it was like the one she saw once in an art book. As Elena said, she was eight, not stupid.
"Will you come back?" he asked her. He couldn't make himself believe that, but if it was her, maybe she could convice him.
She nodded and he lead her back to where he found her. When they got there, Elena sat down on where she sat before and looked up at Kol. "Thank you, Kol! You were actually the first friend I've made in a while! If this tree were a place where i can meet you like this again, I'll come again! Promise me you'll wait for me." She smiled brightly that Kol also smiled brightly back at her.
"Of course, Elena! I'll come here everyday after my lessons. Let's have some fun the next time we meet. And thank you also." Elena nodded again before looking at her book and closed her eyes.
True to her analysis, when she opened her eyes again, she was back at the playground.
She looked around to see if there was anyone, finding that she was alone just like how it was before she meet with Kol and, possibly, travel back in time to whatever years that Kol was from. But she was sure and now she knows, Magic was real! Just like how Bonnie and her grams were actually one, too. Like in the book.
That thought make her look down at the book in her hand. The book was real. This was actually her future. A future where she didn't know anything nor had she meet with Kol. Her new friend! The thought of Kol made her smile. She was excited to meet with Kol again.
Though... Elena looked up. The books are still there. The book in her arms is real. Because if magic is real, why not the book as well? This was something she had been thinking while Kol introduced her to his village. Elena was eight, she was not stupid.
She figured it out by now that what the book said had a significant meaning. It could change what she thought was real, and opened her eyes to a whole new world. The Supernatural.
Vampires are real. Witches are real, too. And if what Kol told her were true, then so are werewolves. Wow, are there more? This interest Elena, if they were real, then would other supernaturals real too?
Elena couldn't hold the excited smile that came from her lips. She will figure that out!
Though, the book in her arm... Maybe if she read the rest she will find out more?
