we all are trying to cope with being ROBBED of our Timebomb ship so I hope you all enjoy my version of how things could have been different. not sure how many chapters I will be doing but I'll post a new chapter weekly if you all enjoy it ;)
also I do NOT own any of the characters or the story plot since I am going off of the show :)
The dimly lit room of the hideout was cluttered with gadgets, scattered tools, and the remnants of Jinx's latest projects. Jinx, with her wild blue hair and mismatched attire, stood in the center, her eyes scanning the room with growing concern. She called out, her voice echoing slightly off the metallic walls.
"Isha? Hey, kiddo! Where are you hiding?" Jinx's tone was playful at first, expecting the usual giggle or a rustle from Isha's favorite hiding spot. She moved towards the small tent in the corner, decorated with bright fabrics and patches. Kneeling down, Jinx lifted the flap of the tent with a mischievous grin.
"Boo!" she exclaimed, ready to catch the little girl by surprise. But the tent was empty. Her smile faded slightly as she glanced around the room.
"Okay, okay, I get it. You're getting better at this game." Jinx said, standing up and placing her hands on her hips. She walked over to the other side of the room, checking behind the tall stack of crates and in the nook by the old sofa.
"Isha? Come on, don't be a ghost on me." Jinx calls out with each unanswered call made Jinx's voice a little more strained, a sliver of worry creeping in. She moved briskly now, peeking behind the curtains and under the workbench.
"This isn't funny anymore, Isha. Where did you go?" Jinx says, her voice cracking as panic settles in.
Her mind raced with possibilities, none of which were comforting. She was used to chaos and unpredictability, but the idea of Isha being truly gone was unsettling leaving a gaping hole in her heart. Jinx dashed to the last corner of the hideout, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and frustration. Finally, she stopped in the center of the room, taking a deep breath.
"Alright, Jinx, think." she muttered to herself.
"Where would she go? I hope she didn't go off to pull another stunt like at the check point" she groans out as her eyes scanned the room one more time, her mind running through the possibilities, hoping desperately for a clue, a sign, anything to lead her to Isha. Then a sound coming from the entrance of her hideout stopped her thoughts as she turns to cave tunnel.
Jinx turned her gaze towards the entrance of the cave tunnel that led into her hidden base, her heart pounding with anticipation and hope. Maybe it was Isha coming back, or even Savika. Someone who could reassure her and help her find Isha. Her fingers twitched nervously at her side, ready to spring into action.
But as the shadowy figure emerged from the tunnel, Jinx's heart skipped a beat. It couldn't be. Her mind reeled as she took in the familiar silhouette of Ekko, the boy savior, standing there with an expression she couldn't quite place. But it couldn't really be him. Ekko had been on the bridge, fighting her before she blew them both up with her grenade.
"Go away, Ekko!" Jinx spat out, her voice a mixture of defiance, fear, and a flicker of guilt.
"I don't have time for a hallucination of you right now!" Her words were sharp, laced with a torrent of emotions she couldn't untangle.
Jinx shook her head, trying to dispel the vision. She turned abruptly, her hand reaching for her gun. The cold metal was familiar in her grip, she aims it at the Ekko hallucination and fires at him without hesitation with all the other terrible hallucinations flooding her mind making her start one of her episodes firing at nothing screaming for them to shut up. Jinx's world spun out of control as her mind spiraled into chaos. The room was alive with the echoes of her past specters of guilt and regret that haunted her relentlessly. Her hands trembled, her grip on the gun tightening as she fired wildly at the phantoms only she could see, the sharp cracks of gunfire echoing off the walls.
"Shut up! Just shut up!" she screamed, her voice raw and desperate, trying to silence the cacophony in her head. But the voices wouldn't relent, and her vision blurred under the weight of her turmoil. Suddenly, she felt two strong arms wrap around her, anchoring her amidst the storm. A hand deftly pulled the gun from her grasp, tossing it aside with a clatter that seemed to cut through the noise. The voice that followed was clear and commanding, louder than the chaos within her.
"Jinx, it's me!" Ekko's voice rang out, steady and full of urgency. It pierced through the fog, drawing her back from the edge.
Panting, she turned her head slowly, her eyes widening as she looked up at Ekko. His face was familiar yet unexpected, a small cut visible on his forehead. Her breath hitched as she reached up, her fingers brushing against his arms that held her tightly. They were solid, warm, undeniably real making her yank her hand back.
"But... you were dead," she whispered, disbelief coloring her words. Struggling to reconcile the reality before her with the memories she held. Ekko, still catching his breath, managed a small, strained smile.
"Always a dance with you" he said, his voice tinged with both relief and the weight of their shared history getting a confused look from her.
"Why are you here, trying to play the part of a hero again?" she spat, struggling against Ekko's grip.
"Powder is gone! Deal with it, boy savior." she adds with hatred in her tone. Ekko tightened his hold, determined not to let her slip away, his voice tinged with a mix of determination and vulnerability.
"I'm not here for Powder, I'm here for Jinx..." he said, his words carrying the weight of truth and the nervousness of a long-buried confession. His experiences in another universe had shown him the complexity of their relationship, the love he had for every aspect of who she was, including the person she had become. Jinx's eyes narrowed, confusion and disbelief swirling within them.
"Why would you be here for me? You want to kill me! Or is this just a new plan to let my guard down?" she hissed, her voice dripping with mistrust.
In a swift motion, she jerked her head back, landing a powerful headbutt that made Ekko wince as blood trickled from his nose. Despite the pain, Ekko didn't loosen his grip. He held on, his resolve unshaken, his heart aching for the girl he once knew and the woman she had become.
"I never wanted to kill you Jinx! listen to me..." he urged, his voice steady despite the sting of his bleeding nose.
"I made mistakes we all did. I should have been there for you, no matter who you became." his words hung in the air, a fragile bridge extending between them.
Jinx's struggles slowed, uncertainty flickering in her eyes as she processed the sincerity in Ekko's voice and feeling his heart pounding in his chest. Her heart was a tangled mess of emotions. Ekko, feeling her resistance wane slightly continued softly.
"I'm not here to fight you or trick you. I'm here because I care, because I want to help. Whatever happened before, we can find a way through it. I gave up on you to soon..." he says wanting to rekindle their friendship, thou it wouldn't be like when they were kids but he didn't care.
Jinx, still guarded but touched by his words, hesitated, the walls she had built around herself cracking ever so slightly. The moment was tense, filled with the potential for healing or further harm, as she stood on the precipice of trust. The tension in the hideout was shattered by the sound of a loud crash, sending a jolt through Jinx and Ekko. Savika stumbled in, her figure battered and worn, her mechanical arm missing, with neon green fluid leaking from the wound. She leaned heavily against the wall, her face etched with pain and urgency.
"They got her!" Savika gasped, her voice ragged and desperate.
"She came to the rally... Enforcers raided the place!" Savika says looking at Jinx in fear of her reaction.
Jinx's heart dropped at the words, and her entire demeanor shifted. The rage was immediate, a consuming fire flickering in her eyes as she processed the news causing her hallucinations to start to flicker back to her. Isha had been taken topside. Jinx's mind raced with the possibilities, each more terrifying than the last.
Ekko watched, unsure of who they were speaking about, but the fury in Jinx's eyes told him everything he needed to know. This person was important to her, someone she couldn't afford to lose. It was then that he noticed the change in her eyes. A pinkish hue, a sign of shimmer's influence, highlighting the depth of her anger boiling over. His hold on Jinx loosen and she immediately rips away from him going to grab her gun once more, Ekko grabs onto his Z-Drive ready to turn back time if she aims at him. He was able to only get a graze last time but he was close range now. Jinx's mind was a whirlwind of determination and protective fury as she turned to Savika.
"Let's go, Savika. We're getting Isha back" she growled, her voice steady but laced with urgency.
"As much as I want to go in and blow it up... I can't risk her getting hit in the crossfire. We need to sneak in somehow." Jinx says with the usual desire to unleash chaos but was tempered by the need to ensure Isha's safety. Her gaze shifted to Ekko, ready to issue a command or perhaps a dismissal, but he spoke up before she could.
"I'm going with you guys, I don't know who this Isha person is but she is clearly important to you. So I want to help you get them back" Ekko declared, his voice firm like there was nothing Jinx could say to stop him. He would probably just follow them anyway on that hoverboard of his, Jinx thinks it over really fast and sighs heavily.
"Fine, but you follow my lead." she relented, her eyes flicking back to Ekko as she heads out of the cave with Savika and now Ekko following her.
The trio crouched low, hidden in the shadows as they surveyed the imposing structure of Stillwater Hold. The prison loomed over the water, its formidable walls and watchtowers a stark reminder of the challenge they faced. Jinx, Ekko, and Savika observed the cable cars gliding silently to and from the prison, each one a potential pathway to their goal. Jinx hummed thoughtfully, her mind racing with possibilities as she rested her arm casually on Savika's shoulder.
"Don't suppose you can swim, huh? Lefty," she teased, a playful smirk dancing on her lips as she makes fun of the muscular woman for missing an arm. Her remark drew a restrained chuckle from Ekko, who couldn't help but appreciate the momentary levity in their tense situation. Savika shot Jinx a pointedly annoyed look, but there was an undercurrent of camaraderie in their exchange.
"Very funny." she muttered, rolling her eyes and Jinx patted her shoulder with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"welp, that only leaves the fun option" she declared, her voice tinged with excitement. Her version of fun was rarely conventional, but it was always effective.
"I'm going to hate this aren't I" Savika sighs out as they follow Jinx a little further. Jinx moved with purpose, slipping away from their hiding spot to confront a passing guard. Her approach was swift and silent. Ekko and Savika remained poised, ready to support her if needed.
The guard was slowly walking down a path doing keeping an eye out for trouble, they seemed bored as well since they strike a pose aiming their gun at a crate like they caught someone before straightening up once more. They continue to walk down that foggy path being observant but as Jinx gets closer she made sure the guard heard her coming up as Jinx leaped from the shadows with her usual theatrical flair, her eyes bright with mischief and energy.
"HA! It's me, your vile villainess, the author of your nightmares! The uh, dread! Of your—" Jinx says but the guard didn't seem impressed.
"who are you?" the female guard asks looking at Jinx who looked dumbfounded at the guards stupid question.
Ekko hears Savika sigh before she slips off into the shadows as if she knew this was going to drag on to long, he looks back to Jinx finding her new personality was pretty funny and cute. Like she had some of her old self spilling out, Powder and Jinx were the same person after all. He kept on watching to see how the rest of this 'plan' worked out since it didn't seem all that tense.
"mmmm, Jinx?" Jinx asks as she grabs her long blue braid as if showing the guard who she was since everyone knew who Jinx was just by her hair alone. The guard gives out a chuckle and shakes her head looking at Jinx.
"yeah, never heard that one before" the guard chuckles like Jinx was playing a joke on her and Jinx starts slowly walking forward.
"you'reee not going to haul me in? Claim the prize? Be the big hero?!" Jinx asks holding her wrists up and together like she had handcuffs on while looking up at the guard.
"you expect me to believe, Jinx. The master criminal, wears pants like that?" the guard asks using their rifle to gesture to Jinx's pants making the young woman look down at her pants then back to a guard.
"what wrong with my pant?!" Jinx's asks sounding like that actually hurt her feelings as she drops her arms in shock.
"you look like a half-eaten circus tent" the guard states before Savika comes up from behind and knocks the guard out in one powerful elbow to the neck making the guard crumble to the ground with a grunt. Savika starts to pull the guards armor off while Jinx stood their looking annoyed as she scuffs moving forward.
"I am Jinx!" Jinx says in frustration kicking the unconscious guard and catches the guards helmet that would hide her face that Savika tosses to her.
"that was pretty funny if you ask me" Ekko chuckles as he strolls over to them.
"no one asked you!" Jinx hisses at him.
"focus! Ekko needs a set as well if this is going to work. Jinx you put this on while we go take down another guard" Savika growls at them getting up to go secure Ekko's disguise.
"don't worry, I don't think you look like a half-eaten circus tent" Ekko gives her a playful smirk as he goes with Savika but that only earned him the middle finger from Jinx.
With Ekko and Jinx both dressed up in the guards armor they haul Savika over to the cable carts after coming up with the plan to 'arrest' her. It was her plan so Jinx allowed it, not like Jinx had a full plan to get over to the prison after taking the guard out. She was going to think of one after the fact, none of the other guards seemed to notice anything off with the trio so they easily got into the next cable car with a few other guards. They both shove Savika forward to act the part as they go to sit down for a longish ride to their destination.
"half-eaten…" Jinx mutters still mad about getting roasted by the guard, she looks up at the man sitting across from him and gestures with her head in a sign of saying hello to them.
"can we focus" Savika growls in a low voice.
Ekko shakes his head and notices the guard across from Jinx looking at Jinx in a way to seductive way for Ekko's liking, the man bites his bottom lip looking Jinx up and down and winks at her. The sight made Ekko's blood boil and wanted to beat the man senseless, but Jinx responds to the mans behavior in the most hilarious why.
"oh-oh-oh-oh" Jinx says with each oh her metal middle finger slowly goes up until she was flipping him off.
The guard looked flabbergasted at her response and looks away looking defeated, the rest of the ride was spent in silence. Letting Ekko think about about what Savika told Ekko about everything that he missed when he was gone, who Isha was, that Jinx had become a symbol to Zaun after a few things happened one of them was Isha's doing after she made a scene at a check point. She saved a ton of people from the enforcers even a few Firelight's but since she mimics Jinx so well everyone thought it was Jinx. Isha had become a part of Jinx's family and Jinx even stopped having intense hallucinations with Isha around.
Once they made it off the cable cart they grab onto Savika roughly pushing her along as they make their way to the front desk with a huge man siting there stamping papers and telling where to send the prisoners. Jinx and Ekko were up next walking up with Savika getting the man to whistle at who they had.
"oooh, big mama. How the hell did you two manage to bring her in?" he laughs out, he pulls some papers out stamping a few of them in preparation of sending them down to the cells.
"we gave her the choice of this, or a swim in the harbor" Jinx says changing her voice up a bit as she played her roll as a guard making Savika roll her eyes while Ekko was getting a kick out of this, who knew Jinx would change this much in the time he was gone. It gave him some hope that they could be close again, but he couldn't get his hopes up to much. The Firelight's hated her for killing their friends when she worked for Silco. He pushes those thoughts to the back of his head needing to worry about the task at hand.
The atmosphere shifted palpably, the air thickening as the elevator doors slid open with a soft yet ominous hiss. Time seemed to stretch, each second dragging on as Ambessa stepped out, a figure of authority cloaked in an unsettling calm. The man chuckled at Jinx's jest, but his laughter faded into the background, drowned out by the sudden weight of the moment as he nods his head to Ambessa in respect.
Ekko's heart raced as he watched Jinx's fingers twitch toward her gun, her movements deliberate and cautious, as if choreographed in slow motion. It was a dance of instincts fear and preparation clashing in her expression. Savika's eyes flicked away, refusing to meet Ambessa's gaze, while Ambessa gives a glance at Jinx catching sight was the blue hair slightly hidden within Jinx's helmet and mask.
Ambessa strode forward, flanked by her two imposing guards, their presence amplifying the tension. Ekko felt the collective breath of the room hitch, a silent acknowledgment of the danger that walked among them. Jinx's hand hovered near her weapon, muscles coiled like a spring, ready to snap at the slightest provocation. As Ambessa passed, the moment hung heavy, and Jinx, sensing the urgency dissipate, slowly withdrew her hand from the gun, her body relaxing just a fraction. But the sudden voice of the man at the desk shattered the stillness, causing her to jump, a reminder that even in the slowest of moments, danger lurked just beneath the surface. The tension crackled like electricity, leaving everyone in the room acutely aware of the precarious balance between calm and chaos.
"cell block C, carry on officer's" the man says nodding at them. Now it was Ekko's turn to act, he puts his arm over his chest straightening up.
"Yes sir! Move it!" Ekko growls at Savika in his own guard voice as he pushes her forward, hoping she didn't take his head later for it.
The three of them enter the elevator and the doors close starting their decent. Jinx wastes no time in cutting Savika's restraints off so she could pull the metal collar off herself, meanwhile Jinx pulls out her hex crystal out loading it into her gun activating the gun. Ekko moves his Z-Drive back behind him having hid it inside his shirt and armor making him look fat, Jinx made sure to make fun of him for it before. Jinx glances at the little monkey figures inside his Z-Drive, they were like her inventions. Why did he have those in his weapon or tool whatever it was, she wasn't to sure and now wasn't really the time to ask.
The door opens and thankfully it was just to guards sitting at the table playing some game together to pass time, Jinx walks past them still in her armor. One guard looks up seeing Jinx and gasps but it was to late since Jinx uses the handle of her gun slamming it into their head knocking them out while Savika punches the other. Ekko goes and starts opening all the cells and unlocking them, he knew there were also Firelight's here as well since they to went to the rally. Jinx walks out pulling off her armor tossing the helmet off first.
"here I am! Your big fat hero…" Jinx calls out to them all before slowly removing her mask watching the prisoners approach her, she gives a nervous smile at first seeing one of the blue haired woman reach for her making jinx flinch away at first.
No words were spoken as they look at Jinx with gratitude placing their hands on her shoulder before walking past her, each person that passed her did the same nodding to her showing their thanks. Ekko even saw Scar smile at Jinx nodding his head as he flees, they all looked up to Jinx now. Savika was right, Jinx had become Zaun's symbol. They were all at the rally for Jinx to join together to fight Piltover together, at some point finding Jinx as their savior.
Once they passed Jinx she takes off running looking in each cell followed by Savika, Jinx looked frantic. Her eyes pleading that Isha was here in one of the cells, Ekko helps look knowing she looks like Jinx in a way since the girl liked to dress up like her. He watches Jinx stop at a closed cell hearing a child grunting and whining while the door rattles, Jinx quickly opens it and smiles down at Isha.
"You're late for Stink Maw's great comeuppance!" Jinx teased, her voice light and playful as she watched a little girl no older than six burst into laughter, her wide eyes sparkling with excitement. Isha leaped into Jinx's arms, hugging her tightly as if she were the only safety in a world often too harsh for someone so small.
Kneeling down, Jinx gently cradled Isha's face in her hands, her expression softening as she looked deeply into the girl's eyes. The warmth of that gaze was enough to melt away Isha's brave facade, the strength she had been trying to project crumbling like fragile glass. In an instant, the little girl's resolve shattered, and she threw her small arms around Jinx's neck, tears streaming down her cheeks as she buried her face in Jinx's shoulder.
Ekko watched from a distance, his heart aching at the sight. Jinx, the fierce and fearless fighter, was now a fortress being breached by a tender moment of vulnerability. Her walls, so carefully constructed over the years, seemed to dissolve in Isha's embrace. He could see her body trembling as she fought against her own tears, wanting to be strong for the little girl while grappling with the weight of her own emotions.
The world around them faded, and in that poignant moment, all that existed was the bond between them a fierce love wrapped in comfort and sorrow. Jinx held Isha tightly, whispering soft reassurances, her heart breaking and mending all at once. It was a beautiful, heart-wrenching reminder that even in the darkest of times, love could shine through, illuminating the path back to hope.
"I'm here Isha… I'll never leave you alone again, if anything happened to you…" Jinx's shaky breaths made Ekko's heart clench as he watches the touching reunion.
"we got to get going before-" Savika says but the elevator door opens down the hall of cells and the sound of guards stomping their way over can be heard making her groan out in frustration.
Jinx gets up keeping Isha behind her holding her gun up ready for the chaos to start while getting out, Ekko pulls his pipe out ready to keep the guards busy so Jinx and them could get away. However as the guards got into the hallway the other elevator comes crashing down making a loud sound getting the guards to turn around seeing an ominous red glow from the now broken elevator. Feral growls could be heard as something starts to break the doors open to get out.
"what the hell was that…" Savika asks her body tense as they watch from afar as the guards focus of the elevator now.
"what ever it is, its not good" Ekko says looking at Jinx and Isha then back to the elevator, he didn't like this sense of dread that quickly filled to room.
Suddenly, the ground trembled as the elevator door at the far end of the hall burst open. The monstrous figure loomed into view, its hulking body framed by the dim light. The glowing red canisters on its back pulsed ominously, it locks onto the guards shooting out of the elevator killing one guard in a second was its large clawed hands as it roars at them all. Jinx, Ekko, and Savika all look at each other almost like they had to be sure they were seeing the same thing. The monster continues to slaughter the guards, Jinx looks to Isha then back at the monster gritting her teeth and aims her gun at the beast.
"get Isha out of here!" she shouts filled with determination to protect Isha even if it meant fighting this monster to keep it from turning its attention to from her and Savika wastes no time in scooping Isha up in her arm running into one of the cells.
"you really are a-" Savika started but Jinx finishes it as she readies her gun.
"big fat hero" Jinx growls out as her eyes glow with shimmer firing her gun hitting the monster in the chest, the blast from her gun blew a hole in it but it healed the wound in second getting pissed off.
"Jinx, we cant take that thing down. Lets keep it busy long enough for Savika to get Isha out then we run as well, no one is going to be dying here today got it?" Ekko says getting ready to pull his Z-Drive if something back happens.
"boy savor at it again, go with Savika… help with Isha, I'm going to trust you to keep her safe for me. Don't make me fucking regret it" Jinx says using her shimmer speed to kick Ekko into the cell with Savika and Isha just before the monster slams into her starting the fight.
Isha struggles out of Savika's arm and tries to run out to help Jinx so Ekko had to listen to Jinx and take Isha and run with Savika, he didn't want to leave Jinx behind but he hoped with her new speed she could get away fast enough. Isha fights Ekko reaching out of Jinx crying out for her as Ekko and Savika get into the elevator, Ekko looks back as the doors close seeing Jinx get thrown into the wall dodging beasts attacks struggling in the tight hallway.
He hugs onto Isha trying to comfort the girl but she just wanted Jinx, he could see just how much Isha loved Jinx. She was willing to run head first into danger not caring if she died doing it if it meant helping Jinx, the doors open reveling the bloody main hall where they had just been in. dead bodies of guards and the people they just freed lied on the ground while the injured were helping each other escape.
Down in the cell hall the monster lunged at Jinx, claws swiping through the air, Jinx darted to the side, her movements a blur. She fired off a volley of bullets, each shot finding its mark, but the creature barely flinched. It roared in anger, the sound reverberating through the cell block, shaking the very walls. Then before Jinx knew it she found herself pinned beneath the massive weight of the monster. Its claws dug into her shoulders, holding her firmly against the cold, damp ground. She struggled, her breath coming in quick gasps, but the creature's grip was unyielding.
In a desperate move, she reached for a grenade at her belt, her fingers trembling as she fought against the fear clawing at her insides. If she couldn't escape, she'd take it down with her. With a swift motion, she tried to pull the pin, but the monster's grip tightened around her wrist, preventing her from moving. The creature lifted her effortlessly by the arm that held the grenade, holding her in the air as it growled, its breath hot and fetid. Jinx's heart raced as she looked into its glowing eyes, feeling the weight of her impending doom.
Tears began to spill down her cheeks as the reality of her situation sank in. She thought of Isha, her friend, and the life they had fought for. Would she really never see her again? As the monster roared, ready to deliver the final blow, something strange happened. It paused, its eyes flickering between a deep, angry red and a softer hue as it looked at her homemade grenade then to her face. One eye shifted to a vibrant blue, the other green, and it seemed to hesitate shaking its head.
"Powder…" it rumbled, its voice deep and echoing through the cell block. Jinx's heart skipped a beat as she looks into the monsters eyes.
As Jinx hung suspended in the air, the realization struck her like a bolt of lightning. The familiar shape and the name echoed in her mind, Vander. The man who had once embraced her and Vi, the father figure who had sheltered them in the chaos of Zaun, now transformed into this monstrous beast.
He shakes his head again as the beast tries to take control again and he lets Jinx go making her hit the ground, he growls as he fights the beast he was forced to become and flees before he hurts Jinx again. Jinx sat there in utter shock at what just happened watching Vander break into the vents vanishing, she gets up slowly backing up at first but runs forward to follow him so she could find him later.
