Most of the war stuff is with Ekko, Vi, Jinx, Vander, and of course Victor and Jaycee, it would have been to long for to do the whole first part of the war. this is going to be the last chapter! hope you enjoy!
The war had been raging fiercely against Ambessa, who had allied herself with Viktor. Caitlyn, Vi, Jaycee, and Mel were fighting valiantly, initially finding success against Ambessa's forces. But the tide had turned grim when it was revealed that Maddie had been working for Ambessa all along, sabotaging a bomb that could have crippled the enemy.
Now, the situation was dire. Maddie had Caitlyn on her knees, a rifle aimed at her head, while Vi found herself trapped in one of the towers, surrounded with no way to fight back. Tension hung thick in the air, each second stretching into eternity.
Just when it seemed that all hope was lost, Mel tapped into her powers. She formed a protective sphere around Maddie as she pulled the trigger, the bullet ricocheting within the confines of the barrier. With a sickening thud, it struck Maddie in the head, causing her body to slump against Caitlyn's back before sliding down to the side. Caitlyn, breathing heavily, felt a mixture of relief wash over her as she processed the sudden turn of events as Mel opens the doors walking out to confront her mother. Ambessa, only sighs in annoyance her daughter betrayal.
"If you care for me at all, spare their lives. There is nothing to gain from this senseless bloodshed!" Mel demands, only getting a small scuff from Ambessa.
"still a fox… soldier!" Ambessa merely scoffed, a dark smirk playing on her lips. With a flick of her wrist, she called to her men, who all grunted in unison, readying themselves for her order to charge. Before she could give the order though, a sound stopped her as she listens closely to it. Confusion filled her face, was that—music?
In the distance, the chaotic humming grew louder, and all eyes turned toward the source. A hot air balloon emerged, adorned with vibrant colors and graffiti-style designs that screamed Jinx. As the balloon approached, guns fired from it, releasing bursts of brightly colored smoke that blanketed the bridges, creating a chaotic distraction.
Up on the balloons platform, Jinx had been lounging in her chair, relaxed and carefree, until they reached the battlefield. With her hood pulled up over her head, she slouched, but as they neared the fight, she gets up and slowly walks to the wheel. Grabbing the wheel, she spun it with a smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth, steering them right into the fray. She looked down at the army assembled below—the very same forces that had attacked the day they lost Vander and the day Isha had nearly perished if not for Ekko's intervention. Her smirk vanished, replaced by a fierce scowl. Caitlyn was looking up at the balloon with a frustrated yet relieved look on her face, mostly frustrated. If Jinx was going to join then why couldn't she have been here from the start?!
With a swift motion, Ekko leaped off the balloon, descending toward the battlefield alongside several of his Firelights. The green lights from their hoverboards illuminated the air as they dove down, dodging crossbow bolts that whizzed past them. They plunged into the colorful smoke screen Jinx had created, using it as cover to launch their surprise attack.
The smoke engulfed Ambessa's army, catching them off guard as the people of Zaun surged forward, emboldened by the unexpected support. Savika led the charge on foot, her war cry ringing out as she punched at soldiers wielding shields, her fierce spirit rallying those around her.
Amidst the chaos, Ekko flew past a large Shimmer monster that had been dragging a strange orb. With precision, he struck it in the head with his weapon, but it was Scar who swooped in next, delivering the finishing blow. The Shimmer monster collapsed forward, landing with a resounding thud that reverberated through the battlefield.
Ekko turned back toward the battle balloon, racing to help Jinx as she expertly steered it close to the tower where Vi was stationed. Jinx, her eyes gleaming with excitement, grabbed the new gun that Ekko had helped her build—a monstrous fusion of her two beloved guns and parts from a dismantled hoverboard, giving it that signature Ekko twist. Though it was larger than any of her previous weapons, she hefted it with surprising ease.
With a chuckle, she set the mini-gun end on the rails of the platform and opened fire, unleashing a barrage of colorful projectiles at the enemy targets. She maneuvered carefully, mindful of her allies amidst the chaos, her laughter ringing out as she reveled in the thrill of the fight.
As Ekko flew past Jinx, he shot her a quick glance to ensure she was okay, his heart swelling with pride before he darted into the tower to take out any soldiers that Jinx couldn't handle immediately. The adrenaline coursed through him as he navigated the tight space, striking swiftly and efficiently, clearing a path for Vi.
With the tower now secure, Vi seized the opportunity to rejoin the battle alongside the Piltover enforcers, her fierce determination igniting the energy of those around her. Vi rallies her comrades as they charged back into the fray, emboldened by the unexpected reinforcements.
Ekko and Scar exited the tower, their movements fluid as they looped around and dove back down, narrowly dodging bolts fired at them. The battlefield was a whirlwind of colors, sounds, and chaos, but they thrived in it, their synergy evident as they fought side by side.
"Look out!" Ekko yelled, spotting an enemy soldier aiming for Jinx. With a swift maneuver, he swooped in and knocked the soldier off balance, allowing Jinx to unleash another volley from her gun, the mini-gun roaring to life as it painted the battlefield in chaos.
Jinx smiled to herself, feeling a rush of adrenaline knowing Ekko had her back. Perched on the battle balloon, she felt relatively safer, less likely to be overwhelmed by the enemy forces below. The height also granted her a better view of the battlefield, allowing her to spot targets and strategize her attacks more effectively.
With a gleeful cackle, she continued to fire into the ranks of Ambessa's soldiers, her new gun roaring as she unleashed a torrent of colorful projectiles. She even aimed at Ambessa herself, determined to send a message to her that she wouldn't back down. But just as she pulled the trigger, one of Ambessa's men leaped into the path of her shot, using his body as a shield.
"Seriously?!" Jinx exclaimed, frustration bubbling up as the soldier fell to the ground. She quickly re-calibrated her aim, firing at another target, her focus unwavering. Each explosion of color in the air was a testament to her resolve, and she reveled in the chaos she was creating.
Up in the tower where Vi had been stationed, a crate loaded into a hex cannon was aimed at the strange orb that had been dragging the battlefield into disarray. With a thunderous boom, the cannon fired, striking the orb and causing it to shatter, sending shards flying in all directions. As the dust and smoke settled, Mel and Caitlyn look over at the orb, their hearts racing with a mix of hope and dread. But as the remnants of the orb fell away, their expressions shifted to horror. The orb was empty. Ambessa turns to them with a smirk on her face, dragging the orb was only a decoy to keep them busy.
As the fighting settled for a moment, a strange, unsettling feeling filled the air. The enforcers taking cover nearby sensed something behind them and slowly turned around, their weapons at the ready. Emerging from a misty haze were figures unlike anything they had ever seen before. Humanoid in shape, their bodies were covered in a shimmering, metallic material with intricate gold markings. One being stood taller and more imposing than the rest, a silent and ominous presence.
Before the enforcers could even process what they were witnessing, the metallic figures moved with startling speed, reaching out and grabbing hold of the enforcers' heads. Forcing their gaze upward, the enforcers were suddenly transfixed, their eyes turning a golden color as if they had fallen into a trance.
More of these bizarre, otherworldly creatures began to appear, swarming toward anyone not allied with Ambessa. They moved with a chilling, mechanical precision, overwhelming their targets and subjugating them in the same manner as the initial enforcers.
Vi's eyes widened in horror as the largest of the metallic figures began to climb the tower where she had been stationed. Followed by a few others, the towering being reached the top, and Vi's heart sank as she recognized the familiar features beneath the metallic shell.
"Vander?" she gasped, her voice barely above a whisper. The man who had once been her mentor, the one she had lost, now stood before her as a twisted, soulless husk of his former self. His face was devoid of all emotion, like a puppet under the control of some unseen force.
The sound of Jinx's gun raining bullets down on the towering metallic figure that was Vander's getting his attention. He turned his gaze upward, his empty eyes locking onto the battle balloon.
"VI!" Jinx yells out, her voice sounding worried as she watched these things surrounding her big sister.
With a sudden, powerful leap, Vander launched himself up the wall and into the air, his metallic body crashing into the balloon. The weight of Vander's impact had thrown the balloon off course, and Jinx struggled to regain control of the wheel.
Realizing the futility of her efforts, Jinx let go, falling back as Vander drew closer. The once-familiar face of Vander now stared at her, his eyes glowing with an eerie red light, the white pupils piercing through her. Jinx felt a chill run down her spine, her usual bravado replaced by a genuine fear as she found herself face-to-face with this twisted, metallic version of her mentor.
In the tower, Ekko had witnessed the chaos unfolding and sprung into action. Signaling to Vi, he gestured for her to jump off the tower and onto his hoverboard. Without hesitation, Vi sprinted toward the edge, leaping off as Ekko flew beneath her, Ekko extending the board to accommodate them both.
As they zoomed toward the battle balloon, the metallic creatures swarmed, their inhuman forms reaching for Vi. But she kicked off the tower with all her might, landing on the hoverboard in front of Ekko. Together, they raced to Jinx's aid, determined to protect her from the looming threat of Vander's metallic transformation.
Clutching one of her bombs, Jinx sat on the rapidly descending balloon, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and resolve. She was prepared to use the explosive if necessary, but the only reason she was hesitating was because Isha was waiting for her to come back to her. Thankfully, Ekko and Vi arrived just in time to rescue Jinx. Vi shot forward, using the power of her hex gloves to slam into Vander, preventing him from reaching Jinx.
Ekko spun the hoverboard a few times, slowing his descent as he jumped onto the platform of the balloon. Quickly grabbing the wheel, he tried to steady the rapidly descending aircraft, guiding it higher into the air. But Vander was relentless, his metallic form reaching out and grabbing hold of Vi. Jinx watched in horror as Vi's eyes faded to a golden hue, her body going limp as if her mind had been taken over.
Seeing Vi in peril, Ekko knew he had to act fast. Pulling a lever, he locked the small sails that steered the balloon, sending it on a collision course with the nearby hex gate. The sound of the impending crash filled the air as the balloon hurtled toward the structure.
The impact was thunderous, and Jinx found herself pinned down by a large piece of railing. Struggling to move, she heard the sound of Vi's familiar footsteps approaching. Turning her head, she saw Vi emerge from the rubble, breathing heavily.
Vi quickly scanned the area, spotting Jinx trapped. Without hesitation, she rushed to her sister's aid, working to free her from the debris. But as she moved the railing, she failed to notice the unconscious form of Ekko, buried beneath the broken pieces of the hex gate wall.
"Looks like you shouldn't have come back" Vi says jokingly as Jinx is freed moving her head so her bangs moved out of her face more.
"still don't get it huh sis, I'm always with you… even when we're worlds apart" Jinx stats as she gets up grabbing onto her gun ready to fight more, she gets a touched look from Vi. Who was wondering just what happened while Jinx was gone to make her transform so much? Last she saw her little sister was a husk of her self, now her and Ekko show up with this balloon and paint all over each others bodies… a brief pause as Vi thinks about it but pushes the thought to the back on her mind, better not to think to much on it right now.
As the sisters surveyed the chaotic scene, Vi's gaze settled on the towering form of Vander, standing atop the now broken battle balloon with an unsettling, emotionless expression. Jinx turned to look at the metallic figure, her heart aching at the sight. The man who had once been their father, the one they had loved and lost, now seemed to be nothing more than a soulless puppet. The raging beast they had once known was gone, replaced by this hollow, inhuman entity.
"Dad?" Jinx asked, a desperate plea in her voice as she tried to reach the man she once knew. But before she could say another word, Vander vanished from his perch, reappearing in front of them with startling speed.
Jinx instinctively used her Shimmer to jump back, while Vi went on the offensive, swinging her fists at the metallic figure. But Vander effortlessly batted her attacks away, reaching out and grabbing hold of Vi once more.
Jinx opened fire, her bullets peppering Vander's form, but they simply flattened and fell to the ground, unable to penetrate his metallic shell. Vander turned his gaze toward Jinx, and she felt a chill run down her spine, his glowing red eyes and white pupils staring at her with a complete lack of emotion.
Suddenly, the hex gate pulsed, and the gravity within the large room began to shift, causing them all to float upward. Vi grabbed hold of a nearby structure, anchoring herself, but Vander turned his attention back to Jinx, pushing off the blade of the battle balloon and launching himself toward her.
Thinking quickly, Jinx spotted Ekko's unconscious form being freed from the rubble and knew she had to act fast. Sitting on a small saddle attached to her gun, she began to fire the weapon, using the recoil to propel herself forward, narrowly dodging Vander's advance. Her panicked scream echoed through the anti-gravity environment, the vibration of her voice adding to the chaos.
Vi watched in horror as Jinx kicked the rocket launcher side of her gun, firing a projectile directly at Vander. But the metallic figure effortlessly pushed the rocket down and away, unfazed by the attack. Gritting her teeth, Vi used the power of her hex gloves to thrust herself forward, desperate to reach Jinx and protect her. Jinx, undeterred, fired another rocket, this time managing to hit Vander directly. The resulting explosion created a thick smoke cloud, temporarily obscuring their vision.
As Jinx struggled to regain her grip on the gun, Vander emerged from the haze, moving with startling speed toward her. Jinx's eyes went wide with fear, and she let out a piercing scream as Vander's metallic hands closed around her.
As Jinx struggled to regain her grip on the gun, Vander emerged from the haze, moving with startling speed toward her. Jinx's eyes went wide with fear, and she let out a piercing scream as Vander's metallic hands closed around her.
"AHHHH!" Vi roared, her voice filled with rage and anguish. Summoning every ounce of her strength, she shot forward, slamming into Vander with a powerful blow. The impact caused Vander to release his grip on Jinx, sending her spinning uncontrollably through the anti-gravity environment.
Jinx, quick-thinking as always, managed to grab hold of her gun once more. Firing it in a wide arc, she worked to regain control of her movements, her body twisting and turning as she fought to stabilize herself.
Vi unleashed a flurry of powerful punches against Vander, forcing the metallic figure back. She then delivered a fierce kick to his face, creating some much-needed distance between them. As Vi stood her ground, a strange, three-armed figure suddenly flew past them, holding Jaycee by the neck. The figure used a laser to cut into the ceiling at the top of the structure, and moments later, three light tendrils began descending from the opening.
Jinx ducked away as one of the tendrils came after her, the ethereal filament vanishing as it failed to make contact with her head. But Vander, seizing the opportunity, reached out and grabbed hold of Vi and Jinx, lifting them up and exposing them to the descending lights.
The sisters had no time to react as the light tendrils connected with their heads, jolting their bodies and causing their eyes to fade to a golden hue. Falling into a trance-like state, Vi and Jinx went limp, their minds seemingly ensnared by the strange, otherworldly force.
Ekko's eyes fluttered open, his mind momentarily disoriented by the strange sensation of floating. As his senses returned, he quickly took in the ominous sight outside – the sky had taken on a grim, foreboding hue. Panic gripped him as he frantically searched for any sign of Jinx and Vi. His gaze turned skyward, and his eyes widened in horror at the sight that greeted him. There, suspended in the air, were his friends, their bodies limp and the ethereal tendrils connected to their heads.
Gritting his teeth, Ekko reached out and grabbed hold of a nearby piece of the broken hex gate, the clock hour hand part floating nearby. With determination etching his features, he knew he had to act quickly to save his friends from this strange, otherworldly force. Spotting his battered hoverboard nearby, Ekko wasted no time in retrieving it. Though it was damaged, he knew it would still be his best chance at reaching the source of the light tendrils and freeing Vi and Jinx.
Climbing onto the board, Ekko steeled his resolve, his mind racing as he formulated a plan. He had to find a way to sever the connection between the tendrils and his friends, to break them free from the trance-like state they had been forced into.
Looking up at the grim, foreboding sky, Ekko knew that time was of the essence. He had to move quickly, before whatever entity controlled the light tendrils could solidify its hold over Vi and Jinx. With a renewed sense of purpose, he gunned the engines of his hoverboard and took to the skies, determined to confront this new and terrifying threat head-on.
As Ekko soared higher, he quickly realized that the source of the light tendrils was atop the hex gate, surrounded by a swarm of metallic humans. Their presence gave away the figure's location, and he wasted no time flying past them. Some of the mechanical beings turned their heads, their glowing eyes locking onto him, and a few even began to chase after him.
Ekko skillfully dodged their attempts to grab him, using his newly acquired weapon to strike a few of them down. As his path ahead was blocked by more robots, he jumped off his board, landing with precision and striking three of the metallic figures before crushing a fourth beneath him as he regained his footing.
Just as he was about to launch a surprise attack on the unknown enemy, the robots reacted swiftly, knocking him down. He let out a pained grunt and quickly rewound time, resetting his position. This time, he ducked under the outstretched arm of a robot but missed his first swing at the main target.
Seeing a wave of the creepy humans waiting to intercept him, Ekko pulled up sharply, performing a flip just out of their grasp, almost like surfing over the metallic horde. With determination, he aimed for his target again, leaping over some of the robots and using their heads as stepping stones. But just as he gained momentum, one of the figures tackled him down.
He rewound time once more, but the relentless robots had learned from their previous attempts. One grabbed him by the leg, slamming him into the ground, while another seized his hand, preventing him from activating the chain of his Z-Drive. Ekko growled in frustration, struggling against their iron grip, but they lifted him up, forcing him to look upward, where he could see the tendrils descending from the stormy sky.
As they let go of his hands, he desperately tried to rewind again, but the grip of the metallic beings held him fast. Each attempt to escape proved futile, and he felt his eyes start to fade to gold as he was pulled into the trance-like state. But amid the chaos, something caught his attention – the dark clouds above were flashing with blue light as the storm raged on.
That flash of blue snapped him back to reality, and thoughts of Jinx surged through his mind. With renewed determination, Ekko reached for the dial on his Z-Drive, turning it while desperately fighting to keep his thoughts clear. He turned it past the four-second mark, knowing it was unstable, and in a flash of desperation, he felt himself being pulled back in time.
Yelling out in anger, Ekko found himself stopped right in front of the figure responsible for this chaos. Seizing the moment, he hurled the Z-Drive at the enemy. The device exploded on impact, sending a shock-wave through the air and causing time itself to shatter, freezing everyone in place, including Jinx, Vi, Vander, and the metallic figures surrounding them.
As time resumed, the shock-wave from the explosion of the Z-Drive, sent Ekko crashing to the ground, his head hitting hard against the surface. Unconscious once more, he was unaware that Jaycee and the mysterious enemy had vanished, leaving behind the lifeless forms of the metallic robots that began to fall to the ground.
The tendrils that had ensnared everyone slowly faded away, and those who had been affected began to wake up, confusion etched across their faces. They looked around, bewildered by the sudden shift in circumstances, unsure of how they had triumphed over their foes.
Meanwhile, as the anti-gravity effects ceased, Vi and Jinx found themselves coming back to their senses. Vander released his grip, and the three of them plummeted down. Jinx landed on a metal beam, bouncing off it but managing to grab hold, pain radiating through her side from the impact. Gritting her teeth, she pulled herself up, glancing over to see where Vi had landed.
Vi had fallen onto a less stable metal platform, directly next to Vander's lifeless form. As she moved her arm from her hex glove, a pained scream escaped her lips. She likely had a broken arm from the fall. The platform creaked ominously beneath her, the bolts securing it to the wall beginning to pull away.
"Vi!" Jinx called out in a panic, her heart racing as she watched Vi clutch her injured arm.
"Vi, hurry, you can make the other ledge!" Jinx urged again, desperation creeping into her voice. But Vi seemed lost in her own thoughts, stepping closer to Vander's body, tears welling in her eyes.
"Vi! What are you…" Jinx's voice trembled with concern.
"Vi?" she asked, her tone shifting as she watched her sister drop to her knees beside Vander.
"You can't save him!" Jinx cried out, knowing deep down that the man before them was no longer their father, despite the pain that admission caused her.
Vi gently touched Vander's face, memories flooding back as she recalled the first time she lost him. The painful recollections overwhelmed her, and she sobbed softly, her heart aching as she looked into his now dull eyes. Yet, to Jinx's horror, those dull eyes did not remain lifeless for long. Vander suddenly came back to life, his eyes glowing with a fierce intensity as he lunged at Vi. Terror filled her expression as she struggled to move back, desperate to avoid his attack.
"Vi!" Jinx screamed again, her heart racing with the new panic that surged within her. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her sister. Acting on instinct, her body activated Shimmer, propelling her forward as she leaped from her precarious position. With a burst of speed, she rocketed toward Vander, pushing him off the platform.
But in that moment of bravery, Jinx knew she too would fall. Vi's hand shot out, grabbing Jinx's arm just in time to prevent her from plummeting into the void. However, Vander, still gripping onto the chaos, latched onto Jinx's body, dangling her dangerously close to the edge. As the platform began to weaken further, the sisters exchanged a glance filled with unspoken words. Jinx smiled up at Vi, her voice cracking with emotion.
"Always with you, sis…" Jinx says, and in that moment of determination, Jinx reached up and punched the hex glove, ejecting the hex crystal. Vi's eyes widened in horror as she watched her glove deactivate, both it and Jinx falling away from her grasp alongside Vander.
"NOOOO!" Vi screamed, helplessness washing over her as she witnessed Jinx and Vander tumble toward what felt like certain death.
As they fell, Vander pulled Jinx closer with a primal roar, but Jinx remained calm, placing her hands lovingly on his face. In that fleeting moment, she pulled a grenade from her belt, her heart racing with the weight of her decision.
The sound of Vi's screams and sobs faded into the distance as Jinx activated the grenade, her gaze filled with a mix of love and finality. The world around them seemed to slow as her eyes start to glow, and as the explosion erupted.
Vi lay on her back, the echo of the explosion ringing in her ears, tears streaming down her face as she cried for her sister. The pain of loss was overwhelming, her heart shattered as she grappled with the reality of what just happened. She had fought so hard to protect Jinx, and now, it felt like everything was slipping away.
After what felt like an eternity, Vi finally managed to make her way down from the hex gate, her heart heavy with grief. She spotted Caitlyn and broke down into tears, collapsing into Caitlyn's arms. The weight of loss was unbearable, and Caitlyn could only hold her tightly, offering what comfort she could.
Meanwhile, Ekko had come down hoping to reunite with Vi and Jinx, his heart racing with anticipation. But as he approached, he was met with the sight of Vi sobbing into Caitlyn's shoulder. His heart dropped instantly, a feeling of dread washing over him. Without a second thought, he jumped onto his board and jetted back up to the hex gate, calling out for Jinx, his voice filled with desperation.
"Jinx! Where are you!" he shouted, frantically searching the area.
As he reached for his Z-Drive to rewind time and find her, panic struck when he realized it was no longer with him. Anguish bubbled within him, and he screamed in frustration, punching the wall with all his might. He felt the crushing weight of defeat – Jinx had died, and despite saving Isha, he couldn't save her. The reality of his failure settled heavily in his chest.
A day passed, and the city was shrouded in sorrow as people mourned the friends and loved ones lost in the war. Ekko sat on a ledge next to Isha, the same spot where he and the alternate universe Powder had once shared moments of happiness. He felt the heaviness of grief in the air as they prepared to light their own paper in memory of Jinx, but just as they were about to ignite the flame, a voice cut through the somber atmosphere.
"Don't you dare fucking light that shit if my name is written on it, not from you two!" Jinx growls out, her voice slightly pained from having to climb her way up to them. Ekko and Isha turned in disbelief, their hearts racing. There stood Jinx, covered in dirt, dust, and a little bit of blood, but unmistakably alive.
"Jinx!" Ekko nearly screamed, a rush of emotions flooding through him. He and Isha jumped to their feet, joy replacing the sorrow that had gripped them just moments before. Jinx, despite her injuries, managed to muster a weak smile, her spirit unbroken even in the face of adversity.
Isha rushed toward Jinx, her relief and joy quickly turning to a flurry of smacks as she vented the fear and anguish that had gripped her when she thought Jinx had died. Jinx winced at the blows, but she accepted them, knowing she deserved the punishment for scaring them so. Suddenly, Jinx pulled Isha into a tight hug, ignoring the pain that shot through her battered body.
"What the hell you waiting for? Get your ass over here!" Jinx turned to Ekko, she gave him an annoyed look, but her voice held a gentleness as she spoke.
Ekko needed no further invitation. He ran to them, enveloping both Jinx and Isha in a warm embrace, careful not to hurt Jinx further. Jinx could feel his tears dripping onto her shoulder as Isha buried her face in Jinx's body, unwilling to let go for fear that she might vanish.
"Hey, Ekko?" Jinx spoke up after a long moment, her voice soft. Ekko lifted his head, his words dying on his lips as he found himself mere inches from Jinx's face, her gaze filled with a gentle smile.
"Mind carrying me down to the docks? We need to leave before anyone else sees me. It's best to let everyone here think I'm dead... Vi included. She won't let me go, and she'll sacrifice her own happiness to stay with me. I'm happy knowing she'll be together with Caitlyn. Plus..." Jinx paused, her eyes shifting to Isha and then back to Ekko.
"I'm also happy with Isha with me... and you." she admits to being happy with him around, Ekko felt a blush creep across his cheeks, but he nodded in understanding.
"Yeah... And I won't ask you why you think it's better that Vi thinks you're dead. If we want to leave, it's better to do it now while it's dark out." Ekko says, wanting to leave sooner than later before they miss their chance.
Carefully, Ekko picked up Jinx, cradling her in his arms as Isha climbed onto his back. The trio made their way to the shipyard, and by the time they arrived, Jinx had fallen asleep. Relieved to see that her wounds were no longer bleeding and the cuts were minor, Ekko and Isha found a suitable airship to set off in.
Jinx slowly stirred awake, finding herself inside the airship as it soared through the sky. She looked over to see Isha sleeping soundly nearby, a small snicker escaping her lips at the sight of her little sister sprawled out.
Carefully, Jinx rose from her resting spot, her body still aching from the injuries she had sustained. A sizable bruise had formed on her shoulder and side, a reminder of her less-than-graceful landing on the metal beam. Noticing Ekko was not in the cargo hold with them, Jinx ventured out to find him. It didn't take long – there he stood, at the front of the ship, gazing out at the vast expanse of the sea. Jinx considered trying to scare him, but as she approached, the urge faded. Instead, she stopped beside him, leaning her arms on the railing and taking in the view alongside him.
"Thank you for coming with us, Ekko," Jinx said softly, glancing over to see him already looking at her with a tender expression.
"I would have followed you even if you told me not to," Ekko replied, a faint smirk on his lips as he thought back to Isha's playful jab.
"You're stuck with me for life." He adds.
"So, you going to let me in on that inside joke you and Isha have?" Jinx questioned, a playful glint in her eyes.
"Not a chance," Ekko laughed, earning him a disapproving glare from Jinx. Her expression softened, and she took a deep breath.
"Would you tell me if I told you that I think I love you?" she asks him, being serious about her words. Ekko's eyes widened in shock, unsure if he had heard her correctly. But before he could respond, Jinx's words echoed in his mind.
"If that's the case... Isha thinks I should marry you." Ekko pulled her closer, a warm smile spreading across his face.
"That so? You think you can handle me?" Jinx scoffed playfully.
"I know I can, but I think marriage is still too far into the future." Ekko says as he began to lean in, but then hesitated. But Jinx didn't let him pull away, reaching up to cup his face in her hands. She leaned in, pressing her lips to his in a quick but passionate kiss. Ekko smiled against her lips, returning the gesture before they both reluctantly parted. Smiling at each other for a moment before looking back out to sea, Isha came running out after not seeing Jinx with her. She runs over to the two and hugs them both and looks at both their faces seeing them blushing a little, giving an eye brow raise and a small smirk. Things were going to be perfect from her on out.
i may ore may-not change up the last part of this later? and put an alternate scene with Ekko and Jinx like if you guys think it should have been longer, more romance. that sort of thing before Isha comes running out.
I would also like everyone to know i am going to be doing a sequel! taking place have a few years from the end of this story ;)
