Brave Days I

The church could never track down and execute all of Ramza's allies at once because they'd always be traveling in small groups of four. Ramza was usually with Mustadio, Agrias, and Orlandu. The others were with their favorite people.

"So, what are we doing for this job again?" A male summoner named Stanley asked.

"Umm, we're going to Igros Castle to rescue someone." A female white mage named Olivia answered.

"And how in the hell are we supposed to do that if there are only four of us?" Stanley raised an eyebrow at Olivia.

"Hey! Luso and I are doing the hard work! Don't complain!" A female ninja named Jolene sighed in annoyed grief.

"Of course," Luso groaned, feeling too damn lazy to do anything right now. "I'm the one who always has to hunt down monsters and sell their skins for gil."

"Where is Ramza, anyway?" Stanley wondered about the current location of their leader.

"He's in Zeltennia with his usual group. You know, with Lady Agrias, Mustadio, and Lord Orlandu?" Olivia answered.

"I am starting to think those three are his favorite." Jolene rolled her eyes, displeased.

"Hey, everyone got their favorites," Luso said. "I mean, look at us. We're usually together in a group."

"No, shit." Stanley shrugged. "Let's go before the church catches up with us."

After they did the errand and got their reward money, Luso and his group met up with Meliadoul's group in Brigands' Den. The Den was empty, thanks to Ramza and his group taking care of those Northern Sky soldiers who were creeping around at the place at the time.

"Do we really have to be wearing cloaks?" Rad whined.

"Of course we do." Meliadoul frowned at Rad.

"So, how are things at your end?" Alicia asked Luso.

"Oh, we just got back from an errand," Luso answered. "How about you guys?" He gazed in curiosity.

"Same thing," Malak crossed his arms. "We have to defend a pair of chocobos from poachers."

Everyone was silent since they knew Luso was also a poacher.

"Geez, read the atmosphere, Malak." Jolene tossed him an annoyed look.

"Hey, it's all right." Luso chuckled. "Least I don't poach chocobos. It'd be too much, even for me."

"Has anyone heard from Ramza? We haven't heard from him and his group in days?" Alicia was concerned about Ramza's whereabouts.

"The last time I heard, he and the others were in Zeltennia," Olivia answered.

"What the hell are they doing over there? We already defeated Elmdor and his assassins."

"That's our question," Stanley said.

"Hmm," Meliadoul leaned against the wall as she observed the outskirts guardedly.

"What's up?" Luso approached her.

"Ramza could have contacted us by now," Meliadoul said in a wary tone.

"You're right," Olivia agreed with Meliadoul. "He would find a way to send a message to us."

"Do you think Delita has something to do with it?" Jolene asked, suddenly suspicious.

Luso did not know much about Delita. He wasn't around during Ramza's academy days. The only ones who knew Delita personally were Stanley, Olivia, Jolene, Spencer, the male knight, and Olivia's older brother, Dorothy, the female black mage, and Abel, the male Dragoon.

"I wouldn't be surprised," Stanley agreed with Jolene's suspicion. "I am still thinking that Delita set Ramza up at Zeltennia church. I mean, how in the hell did Confessor Zalmour know Ramza was at the church at the time?"

"Delita would never do such a thing," Olivia quickly defended him. "They may be on different paths, but Delita still considered Ramza a dear friend. I mean, Delita knows Ramza is a "heretic." He would have killed him if he were cold-blooded."

"And he would have his group kill all of us," Meliadoul added.

"Huh?" Everyone looked at Meliadoul with questioning expressions.

"I heard some things about him from Ramza. Delita isn't working alone. He also has an army of his like Ramza has us as his allies."

"Oh, great." Jolene scowled. "That's the last thing we'd need."

Luso did not comment. Olivia blinked at him, wondering what he was thinking.

"Are you all right?" Olivia asked, concerned."Oh, I'm fine," Luso grinned at Olivia. "Don't worry about me. You should be worrying about yourself."

"If you say so," Olivia giggled. "You can be pretty strange sometimes."

"Anyway, we should leave this place before someone comes here and creeps around, " Malak said. "So, do you guys want to switch groups?"

"No, thanks," Jolene said. "We've gotten used to each other." She looked at Luso, Olivia, and Stanley, flashing a cheerful smile at them. "Right?"

"Right," Luso smiled.

"Heck yeah!" Stanley grinned.

"Well, Luso does need me," Olivia said.

"Not really. I already know how to use white magic." Luso told her in a teasing tone.

Olivia just pouted at him. Everyone laughed.

"Hey! Aren't you people with the heretic Ramza Beoulve?" A Glabados Church templar appeared alongside a pair of male archers, one female summoner, one male black mage, and one female mediator.

"Damn it. I called it." Malak growled, taking out his Octagon pole.

Luso sighed as he pulled out his sword. Jolene took out her thrown knives. Meliadoul has her knight sword out. Alicia and Rad had their weapons out. Stanley and Olivia had their golden staffs in their hands.

"So, what shall we do with the bodies?" Rad asked.

"Leave them," Jolene said. "We don't have the time to bury them."

"We can't just leave the bodies here..." Olivia said, horrified.

"Well, we should give the damn church a clear message! They shouldn't be underestimating us!" Jolene snapped at Olivia.

"She's right." Meliadoul shot a sharp look at Olivia.

"Still, it is rather insensitive to disregard Olivia's feelings on this." Luso glanced at the dead bodies uneasily.

"Ugh, fine!" Jolene scoffed.

Malak, Alicia, and Stanley just sighed.

Once they had buried the bodies of the Glabados Church members, Luso and the others headed back to the Igros Castle to rest there for the night.

A/N: I never played FFA2, so I don't know Luso's character besides his appearance in the PSP version of FFT.
