Look at him, horsing around with Harry and Remus like a teenager. He'll never grow up; but Merlin I love him! I love that he hasn't let all that's happened to him destroy him. Now that he's been exonerated, he's resuming life with a zest that he hasn't had since he was younger.

How did I get so lucky? I had a crush on him since the end of third year, but I never believed I would be the woman lucky enough to capture his heart. He was as elusive as quicksilver, and as changeable as the tide.

From all I knew and had heard about him from Remus, from Severus, from everyone who knew him in his younger years, he was always a wild child, a prankster to the core. Never one to set much stock in the rules. And yet, I couldn't imagine him any other way. He deserves to have this freedom, this happiness, after Azkaban, after coming back from the Veil. And yet, he survived the unknown horrors of those places, without letting it haunt him. Is it any wonder that I am totally and completely in love with him?

My parents aren't exactly thrilled with this; they say he's too old for me. They say he's an ex-convict (even if he was wrongfully imprisoned). But they just don't know; they don't understand how he makes me feel, when he looks at me with his fathomless grey eyes. All the love and emotions contained in them. Someday, they'll understand, and they'll grow to love him just as much as I do.

Here he comes, just to see our babies. He is such a devoted, loving daddy. The wonder and sparkle in those beautiful grey eyes when he looks down at our five month old twins. The Black line lives on- in little James Remus Andrew Black and Sarah Elizabeth Lily Black. And I, Hermione Jane Black, am the absolute luckiest woman on the face of the planet.
