Title: Without Fail

Summary: Artemis Fowl/Evil Genius crossover. Given certainty who knows what might be achieved? Slash A/C

"What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?"

Lessons had finished for the day and Artemes had been sitting alone in the library, reading, when a voice spoke up from over his shoulder. This came as a surprise to Artemes for most of his classmates respected the fact that when he was reading he was to be left alone.

An irritated frown crept over Artemes' lips, he replied without looking up from his book. "Pardon?" Clearly he had no intention of continuing the conversation.

The voice spoke up again. "What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?" closer, and softer now, as the speaker had his attention.

"Nothing, life is given excitement though uncertainty. I hardly ever fail, but if I new I couldn't, what would the point be in trying?" Atemis had just placed the voice of the speaker. The blond boys name was Cadel, he had a hart shaped face and large innocent blue eyes. He was in the year below but the quiet boys wit and intelligence had already earned him a reputation throughout the school

"That's my problem, I don't always succeed, some one is always one step ahead, or I succeed more than I want to, and end up with a situation I can't control. I've seen how you work, you return things thought beyond reach. Even if you don't want people to know, you do have a hart." The uncertainty in Cadel's voice was hard to miss. But he was doing an admirable job at keeping it steady.

"I know my business, but I was not aware you did as well. Perhaps, Cadel, you might tell me what you would do if you knew you could not fail?" Artemis turned to face Cadel. He was slightly surprised the other boy knew about his system of returning stolen artwork. He needed to learn more about this boy.

"I'd make you mine, perhaps steel your hart? I'd defiantly claim your lips, and, well, who knows?" The younger boy might have well stated plans to take over the world, compared to claming Artemis success was more likely.

"Only if you knew you couldn't fail?"

"Only if I knew I couldn't fail." A faint nod, a soft smile. What he wouldn't give for this to work.

"You won't. I promise." Artemis smirked. Why not? After all, the boy was cute.

Authors Note: OK, Cadel is slightly out of character but insert a little confidence and who knows what might be possible. Before I went over it their characters were really out, Artemis was uke and that's just wrong.

Reviews adored.
