This is the second of my attempts at ficlets, although this is multi chaptered. I thought that I was heaps better off at doing ficlets than starting really really long fics and not finishing them and getting bored with them. So enjoy if you can. And please R & R.
This is what final fantasy ten does to normal, happy, optimistic, not-depressed people. Although on the other hand, if I minded it that much, I wouldn't be writing this or playing the game for the 3rd time. Its very much a worst case scenario for a summoner.
I don't think its all that good, but I wasn't prepared to put in a heap of effort into developing characters that I'm only going to use for such a short story (I think it will be about 2000 words)
The Dome
The scythe-clawed guardian of the chamber was losing strength. This did not mean that it would soon just roll over and die, but become more dangerous, more powerful.
"Everyone stand back," called the girl with a head of golden buns and braids. "This thing wont be a match for Bahamut." The metal beads in her hair clinked together as she pulled up her bow to call the aeon.
"We've almost got him," the jet haired mercenary complained, striking the beast with her blade and following up with a metal claw.
The third girl, raven hair strewn with flowers and leaves, called forth a great vine. It grew from the stone walls, shot up taller than the monster and entrapped it, snaring it on its great thorns and strangling it. The creature shook for a second, and then melted into nothingness, pyre flies swirling where it once was.
"Hey, Astara, you did it!" the summoner called.
The black clad warrior sheathed her sword. "You didn't need to do that. I almost had him." She thought the girl should have left her magic form later.
The thorny vines slid back into the earth.
"It was nothing," the mage said modestly, brushing dirt off her long green dress. "Come on, sis, lets go."
The circle of circles turned into a platform, and two of them stepped on.
"I'll stay here," the warrior said. The other two had grown up together in Bevelle, she had only agreed to be a guardian because she had nothing else better to do at the time.
"Don't be silly, Kana, there's no reason for you to stay out here," Astara said. "Come on." Even though she didn't know her as well as she did …, Kana was still a fellow guardian, one of the gang.
The two pulled Kana onto the platform as it descended into the unknown.
Warning, this is only a start. It will get going soon….
