Yes Harry, I'll be here

"Are you still in pain love?" Ginny Weasley asked her boyfriend of three years as she checked his wrists again.

A year ago when Harry Potter defeated Voldemort, Harry had lost everyone and everything he cared about, except Ginny. She was still here for him and looked after him everyday and every night. She had not had a full nights sleep since then and it had really started to take it's toll on the nineteen year old girl.

The battle had not left Harry in his best mind. He would sit up all night, not saying anything, or sometimes he would yell for his mother and father. Ginny had to spend all night comforting him.

Sometimes Harry would forget what had happened at the battle and would call for Ron and Hermione. It broke Ginny's heart every time she had to break it to him they were dead. Not just because she missed them, because of Harry's reaction, he would cry all night calling them to come back, and there was nothing Ginny could do but rock him like a baby.

Harry wasn't allowed his wand anymore, or anything sharp. Because once Harry had near killed himself when he broke his dinner plate. Ginny went to get a new one, and when she returned Harry had slashed his wrists deeply with the shards. Ginny had had to clean him up while he whimpered in pain.

But the think that got Ginny the most was how Harry refused to go to St. Mungo's. He would scream and shout every time she mentioned it. And whenever Ginny asked him why, it was as though she wasn't there for all the attention she got. He just carried on about how he never wanted to go back there.

Ginny often wondered if she could cope any longer. But she could never leave Harry on his own, she couldn't do it to him, she sometimes had nightmares on the rare occasions she did sleep, about Harry doing tragic things because Ginny had left him. She could never make that real it would drive her insane.

So Ginny battled on everyday, still loving Harry as much as she has since she first saw him, that was what kept Ginny Weasley here everyday and night. She loved this man, and knew that no matter what he did or what condition he was in she always would.

"Go to sleep now love you need to rest." She said softly.

"You're staying too?" he asked as a child would for his mother.

"Yes Harry I'll be here." Ginny sighed. She watched Harry fall asleep, but knew it wouldn't last long, and she prepared herself for another long night.
