Chapter One

Layla Williams sat on the couch, thinking about the past year. Her mother moved away, letting her live with the Stronghold's, Will talked to his parents and after they agreed, asked her to marry him. They turned eighteen, and now it was their wedding day.

Just then, Josie Stronghold walked into the bride's room. "Are you ladies ready?" She asked.

Layla looked at Magenta. She nodded. "Yeah, we're ready." Magenta was wearing a purple gown, with her purple streaked hair up in a bun.

Layla was wearing a green backless dress. Her red hair was up in a bun, with two tendrils hanging down.

Josie let Principal Powers know they were ready. The wedding march started. Magenta started out first. When she got to the altar, The wedding march restarted, signaling it was Layla's turn.

Everyone stood and looked back. Warren patted Will on the back. A big green plant bulb moved up the altar. When it reached Will, it opened up and Layla stepped out.

Principal Powers cleared her throat and began. "Dearly and beloved we are gathered here today to unite William Stronghold and Layla Williams together in holy matrimony. Do you, William, take Layla to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, to love and cherish, for sickness in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, till death do you part?"

Will took Layla's hand in his. "I do. I really do."

"Do you, Layla, take William to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, to love and cherish, for sickness in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, till death do you part?"

"I do." She replied.

"If there is anyone here today that thinks these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace." Will and Layla looked at their guests. No one stirred. "By the powers invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Will pulled Layla close, lifted her veil and kissed her passionately. In the audience, Josie Stronghold sighed.

"It gives me great pleasure to announce for the first time, Mr. And Mrs. William Stronghold." Principal Powers said.

Will and Layla had just finished their first dance as a married couple. Just then, a woman with fiery red hair made her way through the crowd. When Layla saw her, she rushed up and hugged her. "Mom!"

Mrs. Williams threw her arms around her daughter. "Layla."

"I thought you wouldn't be able to make it." Layla said.

"Do you think that I would miss my daughter's wedding? Will flew down and picked me up." Mrs. Williams said.

Layla looked back at Will. He smiled at her. "That was the nicest thing you could do for me." She said.

"I know how close you and your mother are, and I wanted her to be here on our big day." Will explained.

"Time for gifts." Steve Stronghold said, leading Will and Layla through the crowd. They sat down in chairs then when put together formed a heart.

Magenta was the first to give them a gift. It was a blender. One by one, each of them gave the newlyweds a gift. Finally it was Principal Powers gave them their costumes for when they graduate. Since the Hero Support class was canceled after they stopped Royal Pain. Since Layla wore green, her costume was all green. It had a full body suit with a short skirt. It came with a pair of wire-rimmed classes to hide her identity after she went public.

Since Will wore red, white, and blue, and his wife wore green and they were going to be a team, like his parents, his costume was all red. Together, they resembled Christmas colors. His was just a plain red suit. His also came with glasses.

Just then, the clock struck seven. Will rose. "I'm sorry, everyone, but if we don't leave now, we won't make it to our honeymoon." He picked Layla up in his arms.

"I'll see you two in three weeks?" Principal Powers asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You bet, ma'am." Layla said. They said their last good-byes and Will took to the skies.
