The Sea
"I've never been to the sea. I'll bet its beautiful." - Anna
The horses began to slow themselves as Van Helsing pulled on the reins. As they pulled to a halt, he leapt off the seat up the front of the carriage, and hurried around to the door. He opened it and Anna giggled as Van Helsing helped her out of the carriage.
"Where are we?" enquired Anna, stepping out onto the firm ground.
"Wait, wait, wait, come here," was his only reply. He pulled a long satin scarf out of his jacket as he beckoned Anna closer.
"Turn around," he instructed and securely fitted the blindfold over her eyes.
"And how am I supposed to see where I'm going?" laughed Anna.
"Simple, just come this way, and hold onto my arm, " said Van Helsing as he held out his arm for her. She gently gripped his arm and he began to lead her down the worn old path that was laid before them.
They slowly made their way down and along the path, until they had reached their desired destination. Van Helsing stopped and turned to remove Anna's blindfold.
"You ready?" he asked as he undid the blindfold and let it slip away.
Anna blinked a few time to let her eyes adjust to the light. What she saw, she thought was absolutely amazing. They were standing at the edge of the beach, over looking the glistening sea. Its natural beauty astounded her. The sun caught the ripples of the water and the soft, golden sand crunched beneath their feet.
She could smell the salty water and the scent drifted up on the cool breeze. She let out a soft sigh and took a few steps towards Van Helsing and quietly rested her head on his shoulder.
"What do you think?" asked Van Helsing softly, putting his arm around her shoulders.
"Oh Gabriel, its beautiful!" she whispered.
