"Underneath The Sakura Tree"
A KenshinxKaoru oneshot
Ever since Kaoru let Kenshin stay in her dojo, she couldn't help but ever so slowly fall in love with him. He had saved her from countless criminals, whom he had given a chance to change their ways, but.. sadly… some didn't. She wanted to… at least, thank him before he had to.. leave again. She knew that he was a rurouni after all, who traveled from place to place, helping people.
She quietly prepared some lunch, and stopped Kenshin from doing his chores. She had him follow her towards the sakura trees. Every spring the sakura trees would blossom, and she always never had the chance to look at them. But, today, she was going to be at least, eating underneath one! Yes, she had planned on doing this for years, and now was the perfect opportunity.
"Kaoru-dono… is everything okay?" She turned to him, and nodded.
"Yes, of course, Kenshin! I've never got to see a sakura tree in full bloom before! And, this is my chance to at least.. eat lunch underneath it!" He sighed a little, but smiled nonetheless. They soon were sitting under the tallest sakura tree.
As Kaoru was unpacking their lunch, she accidentally touched Kenshin's hand, which caused the two to blush. Before she could even react, he brought his lips towards hers, causing her to blush even redder. Then, his lips locked with her's in a passionate, yet forceful kiss.
They soon ate lunch, glancing at each other every once in awhile. They hurried towards the Kamiya Kasshin Dojo, only to notice Sanosuke and Yahiko there, looking a little angry. "Where were you two!? Making out in the middle of the forest or something?!" Yahiko complained, with an anime vein showing on his forehead.
Both Kenshin and Kaoru blushed, but only received a mischevious smirk from Sanosuke and a disgusted look from Yahiko. "Uh.. we did not make out! HONEST!" Kaoru yelled. She practically had an embarrassed look on her face.
"What she said is true, that it is. We only ate lunch underneath the sakura trees, since Kaoru-dono hasn't had the chance to see them in full bloom."
