The Aurions woke up when they heard screams. They got dressed and ran outside and saw the Death Eaters torturing the Muggle owner of the campsite along with his family.
"He must be coming back soon for them to be active" said James
"They must be the ones that bought themselves out of prison" said Lily
"If we take them out now, we could severely damage his power base" said James
Lily and Harry nodded their heads and all three of them brought out their wings and took off.
"O holy one, cast thy purifying light upon these corrupt souls" chanted Harry
"Sacred powers cast your purifying light upon these corrupt souls. Rest in peace, sinners" chanted James and Lily
"Judgment" shouted the Aurions
Beams of light came crashing down killing the Death Eaters. That caused the Muggle family to start falling only for the three invisible angels to catch them. They laid them on the ground before the Aurions went to go join the line to get a Portkey to leave.
The next night when Harry went to go visit Ginny, she said "That was your family last night wasn't it"
"Yes" said Harry nodding his head
"What happened with your family" he asked
"My dad along with Bill and Charlie ran off to try to help while Fred and George took us into the woods" said Ginny
"While we were in the woods, we ran into Draco Malfoy" she said
"Did he do anything" asked Harry
"No" said Ginny shaking her head
"But he had a smug look on his face until your family's attack happened" she said
"Then he got a scared look on his face" she said
"So, we might have gotten Malfoy Sr. last night, that's good" said Harry
Soon it was time for Hogwarts to start again. When the Aurions came onto Platform 9 ¾ they saw it was a little less crowded. They saw some students James and Lily recognized from Dark families there by themselves and others only had one parent with them.
"Looks like we were successful after all" said James
"That should make things easier in the future" he said
"Have a good year at school Harry" said Lily hugging him
"Make sure to mail us if anything interesting happens" said James
"I will" said Harry
He then got onto the train and went to go find his friends. He found Ron, Hermione, and Ginny were already in a compartment.
"Hello" said Harry walking in
"Hey Harry" said Ginny
"How was your summer" asked Harry sitting down
"It was great" exclaimed Ron
"We got to sit in the Top Box at the Quidditch World Cup" he said smiling
"That didn't take long" thought Harry
"Those Fallen Angels showed up afterwards" said Hermione
"Fallen" asked Ginny confused
"They killed people" said Hermione
"Angels do not kill people" she said
"But they were Death Eaters" said Harry
"It doesn't matter" said Hermione
"Angels don't kill people" she said
"I take it you read about in the Daily Prophet" asked Harry
"Yes" said Hermione nodding her head
"Do you know what is happening at Hogwarts this year Harry" asked Ginny
"Something is happening at Hogwarts this year" asked Harry
"Yes" said Ron proudly
"My brother Bill said something big is happening at Hogwarts this year" he said
"But he won't tell us what" he huffed
"My brother Charlie also said we might see him this year too" said Ginny
"So, it must have something to do with dragons then" thought Harry
They soon arrived at Hogwarts while a bad storm was going on. They quickly made their way to the Thestral pulled carriages and made their way up to Hogwarts. As they ran up to the Entrance Hall, Peeves was throwing water balloons at all the students. Harry and Ginny easily dodged them while Ron and Hermione got hit.
They made their way into the Great Hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table. Harry looked up at the Head Table but didn't see Sirius anywhere.
"Professor Black isn't here" said Harry
"Maybe he is just running late" said Ginny
"Or they got someone different again" said Hermione
Once the sorting was over and everyone finished their dinner, Professor Dumbledore stood up.
"Now that we have all eaten, it's time that I make some announcements" said Dumbledore
After he gave the usual announcements, he said "We shall not be having the Quidditch Cup this year"
"WHAT" yelled the Quidditch players
"Why not" they shouted
"It is because Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event" said Dumbledore
But before he could say anything else the doors to the Great Hall banged open. A man with a ragged cloak and a peg leg stomped into the Great Hall. He made his way down along the tables to the Head Table.
"I see you have finally arrived Alastor" said Dumbledore seeing him
"May I introduce your new Defense against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Moody" he proclaimed
Moody just walked up to the Head Table and sat down taking a drink from his flask.
"Now then, as I was saying, we have been chosen to host a legendary event" said Dumbledore
"We have been chosen to host the Triwizard Tournament this year" he proclaimed
"It is a legendary tournament between the schools of Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang" he explained
"A Champion is chosen from each school and competes in three tasks where the winning school receives the Triwizard Cup" he continued
"But the tournament was canceled hundreds of years ago because the death toll got too high" he finished
"WHAT" screamed multiple students
"Do not worry" said Dumbledore
"We have brought this tournament back with safety in mind" he said
"That is why only those who are of age can complete" he continued
"Now, students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will be arriving near the end of October and the champions from each school will be chosen on Halloween" he finished
"I hope all those who are of age will enter their names to be chosen to represent our school" he proclaimed
After that he sent everyone off to bed.
As classes began, Professor Moody made his presence known. He was always stalking the hallways and even transfigured Malfoy into a ferret when he tried to attack Ron. But Professor McGonagall changed him right back. All the students were raving about his class and during his first class, Harry saw what they were talking about.
During the class Professor Moody showed off the Unforgivables using spiders. A few students laughed at what the Imperius Curse made the spiders do and Neville fainted after the Cruciatus Curse was used on them. When the Killing Curse was used on the spiders, the classroom went silent.
"The Killing Curse is unstoppable and unblockable" said Moody
"Only one person has survived it" he said
"But since no one knows what has happened to him, I don't believe it" he said
"Now nothing can be done if you are hit by the Cruciatus or Killing Curse, but you can fight off the Imperius Curse if your will is strong enough" he said
"I will soon cast it on each of you, so you will know how it feels and see if you can fight it off" he said
"But that's illegal" exclaimed Hermione
"Dumbledore gave me special permission to cast it on you, so you will know how to fight it off" said Moody
When October came, Moody started casting the Imperius curse on students in his class. No one was able to fight it off but Harry thanks to his Cruxis Crystal.
When it came near to the end of October a notice went up saying the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang would be arriving on October 30th.
"It looks like they are not giving people very long to submit their names" said Harry
On October 30th all the students left class early to bring their stuff back to their dorms before going outside. Ginny met up with Harry as they were waiting outside.
"How do you think they will show up" asked Harry
"Maybe with a Portkey" said Ron
"That won't work" said Hermione
"Hogwarts wards block Portkeys" she explained
"I believe the contingent from Beauxbatons is now arriving" said Dumbledore
Everyone started looking around until someone shouted "Up there"
Everyone looked up and saw a large carriage being drawn by large flying horses. The carriage has a rough landing bouncing a few times before coming to a stop.
A young boy quickly left the carriage and unfolded some golden stairs before standing off to the side. Then a woman the size of Hagrid came out of the carriage and stepped down the stairs. Dumbledore walked up to greet her.
"How nice it is to see you again Madame Maxime" said Dumbledore
"Dumbly-dore" said Maxime
"My students" she said waving her hand
A dozen of students exited the carriage and started shivering because they were only wearing silk clothes.
"Idiots" said Harry
"They should have brought proper clothing for the Scottish Highlands" he said
"Would you like to stay here or go inside to warm up" asked Dumbledore
"We will go warm up" said Maxime
She then led her students up into Hogwarts.
After that the Hogwarts students started talking about how the Durmstrang students would show up. All the talking stopped when they all heard swirling water. They all looked at the lake and it looked like someone was flushing it. A mast appeared in the center of the whirlpool as a ghost ship came up out of it. The whirlpool calmed down and disappeared once the ship was fully revealed.
"I wonder how they did that" asked Hermione
"Magic" said Harry smirking
Hermione hit Harry on the shoulder for that remark.
An anchor was lowered into the water from the ship and the gangplank lowered down to the lake shore. They all then saw a group of people walk down it with furs on.
"At least they are wearing the proper clothing" said Harry
"Welcome Karkaroff" said Dumbledore
"Dumbledore" said Karkaroff
"We must go inside" he said
"Viktor has a cold" he said
As the Durmstrang students walked by to go into the castle a lot of girls started squealing.
"It's Krum" exclaimed Ron
"I'm surprised that he is still in school" said Ginny
"Maybe he was held back" said Harry
"Don't say that" shouted Ron
All the students followed the Durmstrang students into the castle.
On the way back, Hermione said "I can't believe all the girls are going crazy over him"
"He's just a Quidditch player" she said
"Just a Quidditch player" shouted Ron
"He's the best Seeker in the world" he exclaimed
"Remember Lockhart" said Harry
Hermione just looked away at that.
