Appearing at the doorway of The Burrow, Tonks knocked on the door. Her hair was in its normal mouse color. Mrs. Weasley opened the door. She had invited Tonks over for dinner that day.
"Tonks! Good to see you, dear. Oh! You''re all wet, Quick, come inside!" Said Mrs. Weasley "Oh, yeah," replied Tonks, "It''s a bit wet out today."
"Well, dinner isn't ready yet. Harry, Ron and Hermione are upstairs talking. Remus is-." Mrs. Weasley stopped. Tonks slowly closed her eyes and turned her head off to the side. She hadn''t been happy with Lupin since she had confessed her feelings last year.
"Well, he's here." Finished Mrs. Weasley.
Tonks walked off to the couch and sat there. She was thinking about what it would be like if Lupin had actually liked the idea of Tonks' feelings. Then there was a sound. A musical sound. It was a guitar playing. She turned to see Mrs. Weasley still cooking, and Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny walked into the room to help Mrs. Weasley.
"Hi Tonks!" They all said.
"Wotcher!"
The music was still playing. Remus was the only one who could have been playing it. Tonks got up and tripped over a small side table, landing flat on her stomach.
"Sorry!" She said. No one said anything. They were accustomed to hearing a crash and Tonks yelling "sorry". Walking down the hall, the guitar playing got louder. Now there was mumbling. Finding a closed door that had the overpowering sound of guitar playing coming from behind it, Tonks quietly leaned against it. On the other side Remus was singing words to the beautiful music. It was all a repeat of:
"Tonks, you know,
I love you so
When I hear that
Name I know I'm in love." Tonks' heart leapt and she knew now, she wasn't mad at him any more.
"Oh, this is NO good! She hates me! She''ll never like me again! I just couldn''t tell how I felt around so many people!" Said Remus in an outraged voice. Then, without warning, the door opened, and Tonks, clumsily, fell into Remus''s arms.
Awkwardly Tonks said, "Err…Wotcher, Remus."
"Good to see you, Tonks." He replied.
"Um...Those lyrics. Are they true?"
"Yes. Yes they are." Remus let Tonks go and kneeled down. "Tonks. Nyphadora Tonks. Will…um…Will you marry me?" he asked.
Mrs. Weasley almost dropped the pot she was carrying when a scream of "Yes!" sounded. Mrs. Weasley opened the door that was slightly ajar down the hall. She saw Tonks and Remus kissing each other, holding each other tightly. Tonks'' arms wrapped around Lupin''s neck, with his arms tightly around her back.
"Um..." said Mrs. Weasley, while the others gathered around. The couple broke apart looking bashful.
"We have some explaining to do!" said Tonks.
