A/N: This is my take on a missing scene from The Mummy In The Maze. It takes place after they leave the Jeffersonian's Halloween party.
As the pretty young waitress, costumed in the spandex wrestler's tights, sashayed away, Dr. Temperance Brennan looked at her partner, FBI Special-Agent-In-Charge Seeley Booth.
"That's your second piece of apple pie, Booth."
"No, its not."
"The other plate is right here."
"Yes, it is." He smiled as he shoved another piece of pie into his mouth.
"Then how can you deny that that's your second piece of pie?"
"I don't deny it. This is my second piece of pie."
"But you just…"
"No, you said it was my second apple pie. The first one was mock apple pie."
"Wow, Bones, twice in one night. If this keeps up you'll have to start thinking I'm smart."
"I think you're…" She noticed the smirk on his face, so she reached over and slapped him on the shoulder, accidentally clipping his wrist with her Wonder Woman bracelet.
"I'm sorry, Booth."
"That's OK, Bones. Don't you want something besides coffee?"
"I had plenty at the party."
"I watched you, you hardly ate anything."
Looking down at her costume, she smiled lightly. "It's the costume, there's not much give around the waist."
"It's not funny, Booth!"
"It is from this side of the table… You know, I've learned a lot about you tonight."
"That you read comic books as a kid and watched the Wonder Woman TV show."
"I did not…"
"Come on, Bones. I caught that little Wonder Woman spin you did in the lab, and I saw you deflecting bullets in the reflection of the glass doors."
"I… It's important for children to have a health fantasy life. And it's important for the mythos of a culture to have champions to inspire both sexes."
Pushing his now empty plate away, Booth stood.
"Let's go. It's time for all good princesses to go to bed."
"You are, Princess Diana, daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons. Close your mouth Bones, you're not the only on to have read a comic book."
After he paid their tab and ushered her to his SUV, he asked her a question as they drove from the diner.
"Say, Bones, about your date analogy we were discussing earlier…"
