He lay, on cold stone floor, almost whimpering, as silent tears slid slowly from ice-blue eyes. Tears were familiar to those eyes. He shook in anguish, as he watched the sword prepare to make the final blow. The scene suddenly disappeared. In its place stood one of much more pain and hurt, scenes, that he had scene before, ones which had create the falling tears. He tried to close his eyes, but couldn't, and in the back of his head was the sound of never-ending laughter. His heart broke all over again, at the scenes, he had witnessed, and the pain he had caused.

A girl sat gingerly on her bed, wincing with each movement, as the bruises, newly created, purpled on her face and limbs. The skin around her eyes was puffy, with a large array of colors adorning it. Every move showed pain. An older boy stood over her, gently applying a brownish ointment, to the discolored areas. From his mouth flew and endless stream of words, lecturing the young girl for once again entangling herself in yet another fight- with boys both older, and stronger then her, let alone bigger. He was ignored. Finally to make him shut up she, hugged him, and said a simple thank-you then sent him away, her expression always staying the same…

A few years had passed since the last scene. She stood in the dark, locked comfortably in the arms of a tall red-head, there lips searching the others. She looked utterly happy, in his strong arms. She wore colors normally unknown to her, rust's, reds, and pinks, in the latest style throw over her. She giggled, as they parted, and beamed up at him, they walked away, hand in hand staring at each other with the gaze of intimate lovers…

…it was the last time he had seen her, he had run from what he had witnessed, knees weakening with each step. He wanted to run now, but something restrained him from moving. Shudders shook his body. And a voice suddenly resounded in his ears, one without gender or expression. You hurt her. I could make you pay for everything you have done in your life… but I won't. The shudders and tears didn't stop. You will leave. Now. You won't return- ever unless I bid so. The last words were spoken with a sense of finality. Everything went dark. 'I'm dead,' he thought, ' and I never even told her.' Joren just wept.
