A/n: I'm baaaa~ack! I bet you thought I was gone forever didn't ya? Hehe. Well here I am. Sorry it took so long. Um...so yeah, I was extremely hyper when I wrote this so I hope it isn't too terribly written. And this chapter was so much fun to write! XD I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! Oh, and thanks for all the reviews! I am very happy.

P.S. Sentences in italics are in Hylian because I was too lazy to write translations for an entire sentence. XD

Wind Lover

Chapter IV

Mika sat on an ornately designed, if slightly crumbling, stone bench, watching the men talk anxiously in their strange language. This was boring. She would much rather be out rescuing Lala. The men, they were all old and dressed in funny looking robes, were all waving their hands around frantically while they spoke. Only one of them remained calm and seemed to be trying to calm the others down. He was younger than the others. Mika hummed impatiently. She couldn't take this much longer. Those two boys who had been outside Lala's house when Mr. Purple Flying Man captured her had brought her here, saying that they were going to rescue her friend, but so far all anyone had done was stand around and talk.

Finally she gave up and stuck her hand in the air. "Excuse me!" she said loudly. The men stopped talking and turned to stare at her. "What's going on here? Are we gonna rescue Lala or not?"

The younger one who had stayed calm approached her. "This 'Lala', she is your friend?" he asked.

"Yes, and I wanna go rescue her from the purple demon," Mika declared.

The man raised his eyebrows. "How much do you know about this demon?"

Mika thought about it for a moment. "Well…he's purple and he can fly!"

An amused smile came over the man's face. He sat down next to Mika on the bench and she scooted over to make room for him. "The man who has captured your friend is a Fire Viseere. Wind Sorcerer is how I believe it translates in your language. He has been searching for a princess who carries a powerful force within her so that he may steal her power and rule the world."

"A princess?" Mika repeated. "So you're saying that Lala is a princess?" He nodded and Mika burst out into uncontrollable laughter. "Lala is a princess! Dude, is she gonna love that one!"

"I need to ask you, do you know if your friend has an unusual birthmark on the back of her left hand?"

Mika took a deep breath to stop laughing. She blinked at the man. "What kinda birthmark?"

"It would be shaped like this." He held up the gold necklace hanging around his neck. It was in the shape of three triangles joint together at the tips to form a larger triangle.

"Nope," Mika replied.

"Are you certain?"

"We've been best friends since 6th grade. I definitely would've noticed something that weird."

"I see." The man stood back up, an unreadable look on his face. "Perhaps her power has remained dormant," he murmured to himself.

Mika crossed her arms over her chest and glared up at him. "Are we gonna rescue Lala now?"

He smiled. "Yes, we will rescue your friend now. The only problem is that we do not know where to find them."

"Well, he's gonna perform a ritual right?" Mika thought about it for a moment and clapped her hands. "I know! If I were gonna perform a ritual to steal someone's power, I would definitely do it on top of a mountain!"

"A mountain?" the man repeated. She nodded excitedly. "Well, it does seem plausible enough. Then we will begin with Gonrajin daia Jhonel." Mika gave him a blank look. "Ah, Stone Mountain is what I believe you call it."

Mika jumped up and pointed into the air. "Okay! On to Stone Mountain!"

Vaati landed on the ground in the same forest where he had taken the Perara Fruit. Before he had left earlier, he had found the perfect place to perform the ritual. It was a cave set deep inside the forest and it looked quite undisturbed. No interference would find them here, he was certain of it. He set the girl down. She had long since ceased her complaining and had resorted to crossing her arms over her chest with a glare on her face.

The moment he set her down he pinned her arms to her sides, ensuring that she would not try to run away. It seemed this was exactly what she had been planning because she grunted and made a futile attempt at kicking his knees. "Stop struggling or I'll turn you to stone," he threatened, dragging her into the cave.

"Oh really now? So I should just stay still and let you do what you want to me?" she said angrily.

"Exactly."

"Yeah, right," she snorted and brought her foot back directly into his shin.

Vaati grunted in pain and threw her roughly onto the floor of the cave. "Damn annoying girl," he muttered as he limped farther inside where he had set the herbs he would need to keep this brat still without wasting too much of his precious power. It would not do if he were to faint before he could absorb the Light Force. He imagined having to do all of this over again and shuddered at the thought.

Meanwhile the girl had stood up and was trying to sneak outside while she thought his attention was elsewhere. He flicked his wrist and a whirlwind formed in front of the cave, blocking the entrance.

"Damn it!" she cursed, stomping her foot angrily. Vaati turned to see her glaring at him. "Let me go!" she demanded.

Vaati grinned. "No," he said.

She huffed angrily and took a fighting stance as he walked towards her. "Stay back or you'll regret it!"

He shook his head and flew into the air to land behind her and grab her once again, this time standing carefully to the side so that she wouldn't manage to kick him again. He held his hand over her mouth and a moment later she went limp in his arms. Carefully he laid her on the ground and brushed his hands off, releasing the whirlwind blocking the entrance as he did so. It was no longer needed so he may as well not waste his power.

"What did you do to me?" she cried.

He smirked at her. "It was an herb to induce paralysis the moment it's breathed in. Hyrule has changed quite a bit so I was rather surprised that I found any." He scooped some up that he had dropped off and held it out for her to see.

She wrinkled her nose. "It looks like moss to me."

He dropped it and sat down beside her. "That is probably what you foolish humans think it is."

The girl's eyes widened as he placed his hands on top of her chest and her face turned bright red. "Hey, what are you doing?"

"I'm removing the Light Force from your body. Now do me a favor and be quiet."

"The what Force? I'm not just gonna be quiet for you! You're insane!"

Vaati ignored her and continued. A long moment of her incessant shouting passed and nothing significant had happened. He frowned and removed his hands. "Why isn't it working?"

"Ha ha. It serves you right," she said.

"Shut up." He returned his hands and tried again. Still nothing happened. "Damn it!" he shouted, jumping to his feet. "Why isn't it working?" He sent a blast of air against the wall to relieve his frustration. The ground shook from the aftershock and several rocks fell loudly from the ceiling.

One landed right beside the girl's head and her eyes widened in fear. "Hey, watch it you idiot!" she shouted. "You're gonna get us both crushed."

Again he ignored her and sat back down, trying once again. Still it did not work. He couldn't understand it. After all of this time he had finally caught the princess, and now he couldn't even take her power. What was wrong?

"H-how long are we gonna walk?" Mika huffed as they climbed the never-ending mountain.

"Until we reach the top, remember?" Eledon said. They had gotten around to introductions while they walked and he had explained some things to her. She was still really confused though.

"I hate walking!" Mika moaned. They had climbed almost the entire mountain without even taking a break. "Lala got to fly. It's not fair!" She glared at the top of the mountain and pointed an accusing finger at it. "You'll pay for this, Lala!" Eledon raised an eyebrow at Mika's sudden burst of energy as she marched ahead of him up the mountain.

"Lord Eledon," Sura said from behind him. Sages Sura and Daiwen had accompanied them, while the others Council members had remained behind in case they failed to find Vaati in time. "Why are we following this girl? She's knows nothing of the sorcerer."

"You speak the truth," Eledon said, pointedly speaking in English as he had insisted upon doing for Mika's benefit. "However, we would most likely still be arguing about what to do had it not been for her decisiveness. Therefore we follow her."

Sura grunted, still disapproving, but remained silent.

Meanwhile, Mika marched on steadily, determined that Lydia would pay for making her suffer. Climbing this mountain was especially difficult since they'd had to come up the back where there was no path. She tripped on a root that was sticking out of the ground and fell on her face into a pile of mud. It wasn't the first time this had happened and she hopped up angrily, brushing herself off as best she could.

The top of the mountain was now just ahead of her and she ran as fast as she could to reach it. Finally! She stopped when she reached the top and leaned her hands on her knees while she tried to catch her breath. There was an annoyingly painful stitch in her side. This was exactly why she never exercised.

"Okay, Lala! Here I come!" Mika shouted after a moment. She straightened up and placed her hands on her hips and looked for the purple man and her friend. Instead all she saw was a lot of rocks, some moss, and a few yellow flowers. "Huh? Where are they?" She went over to a tall pile of stones next to her and peered around it. "Mr. Purple Flying Man? Lala?" There was nothing but a sheer drop off.

She backed away. "Where are you, Lala!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. Her voice echoed back to her and then she heard the sound of people walking. She turned to see Eledon and the others and ran up to them. "They aren't here!" she whined. "I'm gonna kill Lala for making me walk all this way!"

"Perhaps you should instead kill Vaati since he was the one who took her," Eledon suggested.

"Oh yeah, I guess you're right," Mika said thoughtfully. "So where are we gonna check next?"

"You are the one in charge," Eledon said. Sura grunted again.

Mika gave it some thought and then clapped her hands. "I know! If he didn't take her to a mountain top, he must have taken her to the ocean! Charge! To the ocean to kill Mr. Purple Flying Man for making me walk!"
