6Everything Use To Be Fine... Before He Came To Town.
Summary: Artemis knows nothing of her past. All she knows is that she has moved around tons from foster home to foster home, that is until she is sent to Ipswich when she is 15. Her life was great. She was dating Tyler Simms, had great friends, had powers she had never known, and fit in. Until he came to town.
Chapter Two- The Night
Artemis ran out of the room and down the hall. "You can't catch me!" She laughed back to Tyler.
"You wanna bet?" Tyler called back as he ran after her.
"What do I get when I win?" Artemis said, turning and back peddling down the hallway.
"You can sleep in my bed," Tyler said still pursuing her.
"And when I win, I won't make you sleep on the floor," Artemis said turning around and continuing to run towards Kate's room. "I'm almost there."
"And I'm right behind you, Artemis," a voice said. Artemis turned around fast and saw no one.
"Reid? If that's you it is not funny!" Artemis cried.
"What about me?" Artemis heard Reid's voice behind her causing her to jump around.
"Don't scare me like that!" Artemis cried. "Were you behind me while I was running?"
"No. I found Sara here, roaming the halls. She looked pretty spooked. So I offered to walk her to her room," Reid said smirking.
"How gentlemen-like of you," Artemis said with sarcasm.
"Caught you," Tyler said as he grabbed Artemis's waist.
"I already beat you dear," Artemis said with a winning tone, smirking at him.
"I know but still...Reid, what are you doing here?" Tyler said turning his attention to Reid and Sara, who was wrapped in a towel.
"He was taking Sara back to her room. Apparently, something in the girls' bathroom spooked her," Artemis said. "Come on Sara. Let's get you in some clothes. And I need some for tomorrow," Artemis said opening Kate's room door. Sara walked through the door first then Artemis.
"What happened, Sara?" Artemis whispered when they were inside.
"I don't know. I felt like someone was watching me. Then a light broke," Sara said as she got dressed.
"I'll check it out," Artemis said as she got one of Kate's outfits out of the closet.
"It was probably nothing," Sara said as she sat on her bed.
"Still I'll check it out. It'll make me feel safer. Get some sleep I'll see you tomorrow," Artemis said before leaving and closing the door behind her.
"Well?" Artemis heard as she closed the door. She looked up to see Tyler and Reid looking at her.
"She said she felt like she was being watched and then a light broke," Artemis said before walking towards the bathroom.
"What are you doing," Tyler whispered urgently as he caught up to her.
"I want to see for myself," Artemis said, walking defiantly. Artemis reached the bathroom within a few moments and walked in. Tyler and Reid followed her in.
"Does anyone else feel that?" Artemis asked closing her eyes.
"Feels like someone was using," Tyler said.
"I think you guys are just being paranoid," Reid said.
Artemis looked at Reid with one of her looks.
"It wasn't me. It was probably some freshman that didn't want to get caught in the girls' bathroom. Trust me if it was me you would know," Reid said with his hands in the air.
"I believe you. Besides you'd be bragging you saw Sara naked," Artemis said with a smirk. "Someone was watching her, but it wasn't any of us. And the light over there is broken. The only question is, who was it?"
"I don't know but I vow it is time for bed," Tyler said with a yawn.
"As do I," Artemis said turning around and yawning.
"Let's go to bed," Tyler said. Artemis just nodded in agreement and walked out with him.
"Do you think Reid did this and he is just covering his ass?" Tyler asked as they walked to his room.
"I don't think so. Some was behind me while I was running, Tyler; and the voice sounded familiar, but it was not Reid. I think we may need to talk to Caleb tomorrow. Hopefully before Nikki's," she responded as they reached his room.
"Let's get some sleep," Tyler said opening the door and letting her in.
"That is an awesome plan. I hope whatever nightmare I had earlier, stays far away," she yawned, while stepping into the room and plopping down on the bed.
"Don't worry, I will be beside you all night to chase away any bad dreams," he responded kissing her forehead and lying down beside her.
"You are the best boyfriend in the whole world," she responded curling into his chest and falling asllep.
"I hope so," He whispered.
