Sometimes it comes on slowly. Other times, like now, it hits him like a ton of bricks. He never knew which way it would happen, only that it would happen. It was insidious — lurking around a corner, waiting for him to come to it so it could pounce on him when he was unprepared. Other times, it would sneak up on him a little at a time. He didn't know which way was better. Neither was, he decided after considering for a moment. Grief was grief and no matter how it came on it wasn't going to bring his brother back to him.
