Christmas Miracle
Well this is my first attempt and Harry might even seem a lot out of character but please bear with me as it is my first story.
Disclaimer. I don't own anything but the terrible plot and the few spelling mistakes. All characters belong to the clever person who invented them. OK on with the story
Well the war was over and he had finally beat him but still it was hard to make a living. With his wife at home and his two best friends living in some big posh house with there kids and yet here he was sitting on a cheap plastic sleigh listening to kids telling him what they wanted for Christmas. When harry had finally defeated Voldermort he had been the latest craze until the next big thing had come along and Harry faded into the background gaining a bit of weight since he lost his job as an auror.(?)
"I want this" shouted an hyperactive Steve
"Well that's a long list can't you shorten it down" asked Harry trying his hardest not to let the kids voice worsen his headache
"No! I want this" he pointed to his list once more.
Flash the photo was taken. The kid hopped off his lap as the next child sat on his lap.
"What is your name?" Harry asked trying his hardest to sound jolly. There was no answer.
"OK. What do you want for Christmas?" still no answer.
Flash The photo was taken and the child hopped off his lap.
Next was a little girl with her hair n pigtails and her two front teeth missing.
"Your beard is not real!" she said giving Harry no chance of asking her the routine questions.
"Of course it is" he said through gritted teeth.
"No it's not my big brother told me so. Your hair looks really bad, your not Santa."
Harry grimaced as the flash of the camera went off and the little girl hopped off. It had only been two weeks since Sarah had helped him get this job. He can remember the plump woman smiling at him and trying to sell the job, but Harry was desperate and would of taken anything.
"It's not a permanent job, of course Mr. Potter but it will get you back on track." Harry replayed the scene in his head as he swallowed his last bit of coffee as his break finished. He walked through the mall with shoppers giving him little attention as he returned to his place on the plastic sleigh.
He spotted the line of children waiting to see 'Santa' and came up with the idea to run, but as soon as the idea arose it vanished just as quick. He imaged himself being chased by angry mothers all through the mall just to have every exit blocked with crying children.
He sat down and waited for the next child to come along. In step a woman in her mid-thirties as she gave Harry a shy smile.
"Aren't you a bit old to be sitting on Santa's knee."
"oh no, my daughter needed her nappy changing and I didn't want to lose our place in the line. Look here they come."
A man in his early forties appeared carrying a baby girl who could be no older than a few months old.
"She's not going to remember this unless she already as a list for an i-pod in her nappy."
The man who had brought the child laughed. "Oh no we're just here for the picture, we've been trying for ten years to have a baby and we want her first Christmas to be special."
harry felt a tinge of envy, he and Ginny had been trying for a child for years but he gave up. That's when it all went down hill, that's when he became grumpy. The proud parents placed the little girl on his lap and stepped aside so the picture could be taken.
Looking at the child Harry could see what he wanted all along. A family and seeing the little girl gave him hope that one day he and Ginny could be parents. The camera was ready and all Harry had to do was smile.
The little girl scrunched up her face and harry felt a trickling warmth down his leg
'Oh no'
