Nikki nervously paced backwards and forwards for half an hour before Leo put a hand on her arm to stop her. "You're going to wear a hole in the carpet," he told her.

"I wish there was something I could do," Nikki said close to tears as she turned to the older man. "I feel so guilty!"

"Nikki," Leo began, looking directly into Nikki's eyes to get hit point across. "This was not your fault! Ok. Don't blame yourself! He wouldn't want that!"

"I just feel… he's been there so many times for me, and now the roles are reversed and there is nothing I can do!" Nikki cried out.

"Nikki. I have been through this so many times with Harry. Just being here is enough. Because until he's out of surgery there is nothing we can do. And besides, you're doing what Harry always does. Harry always waits at the hospital until he can see you. Of course you're normally not in surgery…" he trailed off.

There were a few minutes of silence in which Nikki finally let her tears fall. Leo knew that at the moment there was only one thing that could comfort her. And that was not him, although he did the best he could. He walked forwards towards her and wrapped his arms around her, bringing her into a hug. She cried into his shoulder.

"I don't know how he does it," she finally admitted.

"He had been through this so many times, that he knows not to break down, and he knows there is nothing he can do until a doctor tells him he can see you. Besides, he knows how strong you are, and that you'll never give up on him. You have to believe the same. You have to believe that he's strong and that he won't give up!"

It was three hours later that the doctor came out, and gave them the good news. "He made it through the surgery!"

Nikki looked over at Leo who gave her a small smile. She turned back to the doctor. "Can I see him?"

"He's not going to be awake for a couple of hours. But you're welcome to go and sit by him!" Nikki thanked him and then turned to Leo.

"Go. It's what he does. I'll stop by in a few hours and check in on him."

"Are you sure?" she asked Leo.

"Yes. Go on now." Nikki hugged Leo and then walked on towards Harry's room. She stopped at the door and looked in, gasping at how pale he looked, and all the tubes coming out of him.

"Oh Harry. I'm so sorry," she whispered. "I now know how you feel when you find me like this. I promise to be more careful," she whispered, finally having the courage to walk into the room. She walked into his hospital room, and sat down next to his bed, and the chair thankfully already in the room. She took his hand, being mindful of the drip.

She sat there for the next few hours, until he woke up, thinking about the amount of times that Harry had been in the position she was in now and how worried he must have been. "I don't know how you do it," she said with tears threatening to fall. As she sat by his bed, she realised just how strong he really was, being there for he, time and time again, putting up with her, doing the job he did. She knew; he wouldn't give up.

I was going to post this one later, but i'm going to the movies and trying to organise a sleepover that is just not working... so i'll probably cancel it. Ah yeah, so i decided to post it now, becuase if i don't i'll probably wait like three months before posting it. I personally don't think it's the best, but don't know what else i could do to it. And i don't like the ending. Ah well, tell me what you think!

I'm only writing these one-shots etc becuase i am so bored waiting for my neighbour to coem and get me when we are supposed to go to the movies. I'm not sure if we are still going... And becuase i've got writers block on my "big" case fic i'm working on. Hopefully i'll get ideas from these and it will help pass the time!
