No idea where this came from - you'll all hopefully be suprised by it. And I hope you'll review!

"Well I suppose I should make a speech," he said standing up, and suddenly all conversations stopped. All eyes were on him. He turned to his best friend and the bride to be, giving her a small smile.

"We've been best friends for a long time and friends even longer," he started the speech off, clearing his throat as he did so. "We know more about each other then we probably do about anyone. And truth be told, I think I know you better then I do myself, and I could probably say the same about you. We've been there for one another and seen each other at our worst and best. I used to say that nothing you could say or do would surprise me. This surprised me," he paused and swallowed hard. Making a speech in front of hundreds of people, especially people you did not know was not easy.

"Part of me was jealous but the other part of me was so happy for you, knowing you had finally found your prince charming. When Dan first met me and was left alone with me when you went to the bathroom, he confessed after all you had told him about me, he was extremely nervous about meeting me. He also confessed that he wanted my approval. Well those comments made me feel special. But… Seriously, what did you tell him about me?" she gave a small laugh.

"Oh I don't remember. This and that!" she replied with a small grin.

"That can't be good. Oh. Well anyway. I was taken to him straight away and realised that I had no right to be jealous. He was a great guy, and so good for my best friend. He didn't need to ask my approval. He had it. I guess what I'm trying to say is…" he tried hard to sum it all up. "That she was mine, I'm handing her to you, she's yours," he said directing his comment to the groom. "Take good care of her and I hope to still see you when your futures set!" He raised his champagne glass.

"To Tom and Nikki. May you live happily ever after!" Harry toasted as he took a sip of his champagne. The rest of the party toasted along side him.

Harry caught up with the bride to be on the dance floor when she interrupted his dance with her bridesmaid Sylvia. "May I?" she asked him.

"Of course," he said, excusing himself from Sylvia to dance with his best friend. They danced along to the song; just enjoying being wrapped up in one another's arms for what could possibly be the last time.

"Thank you for the speech," Nikki muttered, looking deep into Harry's eyes.

"Your welcome!" he told her with a smile, gazing into her eyes. "I'm just glad you're settling down. Having the family you always wanted!"

"A fairytale ending," she said with a small smile. He nodded his head in response. "Well no matter what. You're still my best friend ok!"

"Come on. I'll take you home now. If we don't get home soon, you won't have enough sleep before the big day tomorrow!" Harry told her, tearing his gaze away from her and pulling away slightly.

"As if I can sleep tonight," she said as they started walking over towards Tom to say goodnight.

"I'm sure I can help with that," he replied. She nudged him with her elbow and he laughed, wrapping his arm around her.

Life was good. His best friend was getting married, to the nicest guy possible and she was extremely happy. She and he were as close as ever and still managed to have playful banter every now and again. He couldn't have asked for anything more out of life.
