Summary: E/O Drabble Challenge. Continues from "Buried." Happy Birthday to Phoebe (P.A. Davis)!
Challenge word: Dry
A/N: I did this SO last minute…I haven't even replied to all the reviews I got last time. It's been a crazy week, y'all! And, hey, I'm the new parent of two baby guinea pigs, Buddy and Brownie! Anyway, thank you sincerely to each person who reviewed—I'm relieved you still want to read what I have to say. I felt so honored by each one. I will get replies out this week if I have to tie myself to a chair to do it.
Hope you enjoy this one. I decided to continue from "Buried" since so many people wanted more of that.
"Dry. Its jus' so dry."
Sam readjusted his hold on Dean, kept pushing forward.
"I like wet places, S'mmy. Wet, rainy, cool…" Dean stumbled, nearly took them both down. "Stoopid rocks."
Sweat mingled with dust covering Sam's face. "Yeah. Shoulda had to dig in this stuff."
Dean stumbled again, tightened his grip on Sam. "Not like Illinois soil."
Sam stopped short of the car, heart in his throat. "No, Dean. It's not." Sam couldn't go there. "Let's get you home."
He eased Dean into the car, felt Dean's hand slap against his cheek.
Sam swallowed. "You're welcome, Dean."
