Episode III was on over Memorial Day and that night I sat down to write and came up with this. Yes, it is sad, but so is the movie (kinda) and this scene. Hope you like it. Oh, and please forgive me if the dialogue is not quite exact since I was writing it from memory :)

In the End When All Was Said and Done

"You were the Chosen One!" Obi-Wan cried, sorrow and betrayal finally bursting from him. "It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! It was you who would bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!" Why? Anakin clawed at the cinders, moaning in agony, his face twisted by more than just pain.

"I hate you!" he screamed, the raw pain and anger in his voice cutting straight through Obi-Wan. He looked down at the man who was once Anakin Skywalker, the betrayal vanishing to be replaced only by sorrow deep and consuming.

"You were my brother, Anakin," he said. "I loved you." He watched as a spark kindled Anakin's clothing, burning his flesh and tearing a scream from his lips. As Anakin looked up at him, hatred in his eyes, Obi-Wan turned and walked wearily away. Tears stung his eyes and he let them fall, mourning the loss of his dearest friend. I'm sorry, Anakin. His screams followed him, echoing through his mind. I'm so sorry. There among the heat and the lava, Obi-Wan Kenobi wept.

In the end, when all was said and done, he would lose everything and everyone he cared about. By then, he had no more tears to shed and though his heart still mourned, he never wept again.

The End

*sniff* Sad, I know. Please review and let me know what you thought (but please be nice). Thanks so much for reading.
