A/N: I sort of thought of this when

I was re-reading Secrets of the Dragon

Sanctuary and the part came up where

Verl was giving Kendra her present.

Then the idea just popped into my head.

This is set at a time where there's peace,

But I'm not really sure when.

Hope you like it. It's just a Oneshot.

Kendra walked over to the edge of the lawn, waiting to hear the sound of satyr hooves hitting the newly fallen leaves of autumn. She waited for a while, and when she finally heard them, she stood up.

"Hey." She said.

"Hello, Kendra." Verl said.

"Come on, before Grandpa and Grandma come looking for me." Kendra said.

"Alrightee." Verl replied.

They walked over by the tennis courts where they spotted Newel and Doren playing tennis while Seth watched from the sideline. The quietly crept behind bushes as they passed so that they would not be seen by them. They walked onward, towards where the Fairy Queens shrine used to be.

Verl picked up a flower and gave it to Kendra.

"You look beautiful." He exclaimed.

Kendra blushed.

"Thank you very much." Kendra replied.

"No need for thanks." Very said. "Your very existence is thanks enough."

Kendra blushed even redder.

They walked over to a pavilion.

The sun was starting to set over the pond and you could see some of the naiads poking their heads out to see what was making noise, since there hadn't been much attention paid to the pond since the Shadow Plague.

Verl looked at Kendra.

Kendra looked back at him.

"I've never seen such a fairer maiden that walks the Earth, in all my years of living, than you, Kendra." Verl proclaimed.

Kendra blushed again.

"You're an amazing guy, er…satyr, Verl." Kendra said.

It was Verl's turn to blush.

He looked into her eyes.

He smiled and leaned in, his eyes closing.

She did the same, and before they knew it, their lips met.

They shared a blissful 37 second kiss.

When they broke apart, they smiled again.

"You know that we can never be, right?" Kendra asked.

"Alas, that is very sad." Verl said.

Kendra looked away.

Verl took her hands.

"I've never felt this way about any maiden, much less a mortal, before in all my years. Your special Kendra." He looked into her eyes. "I want to be with you and I will stay with you until you are old and dying. I'll never leave your side."

Kendra looked like she was going to cry.

"You're the love of my life." He said.

She kissed Verl again and smiled as she pulled away.

"Then we'll keep us a secret until the very end?" She asked.

"Yes, if we must. Whatever it takes to be with you." Verl said.

She smiled.

They would be together until Kendra met her very end. She could never find herself to fall in love with another mortal. She loved Verl more than almost anyone else. (Except for Seth and her family)

Their love was forbidden, yet it still is there.

Hope you liked this.
