"Are you sure we should be letting her go? It could be risky."

"Oh Noah, you worry too much. She needs to do normal things! It's just a Halloween dance, after all."

"Listen to her, Dad. I'll be fine," Claire called, bouncing down the stairs to join her family.

Startled, her mother gave a small gasp. "Claire, honey, your hair!"

"It's just a rinse, Mom," Claire explained, running her fingers through her freshly dyed brown locks. "It'll wash out in a few days. I hope," she added in an undertone.

Lyle looked up at her and smirked. "What are you supposed to be, anyway?" He took in her long sleeved black shirt and tan cargo pants.

"It's not a what, it's a who," Claire replied. "I'm going as Kim Possible."

Her father raised an eyebrow. "Honey, do you think that costume is really appropriate?"

"Why?" Claire asked innocently, "You think the whole butt-kicking, world-saving cheerleader thing is too much of a stretch?"
