Choices
In this story Rogue is wondering if she made the right choice by giving up her power. I think it's just gonna be a one-shot, but if you like (and review!) I might add more because I've started to really like this story! I know I sorta went on and on towards the end and I apologize for that! P also know that the story seems to change themes in the middle and I'm sorry for that too, but I didn't want to change any of the Rogue/Bobby fluff cause that's my favorite part! I'm also sorry that my intro is so long! Onto the story! Enjoy and review please!
Disclaimer: I hate these, they're designed to make you feel bad about yourself by realizing how pathetic your life is! Anyway, I do not own X-Men or anything affiliated or associated with it. (That actually sounded kinda smart didn't it?!)
She was sitting on the couch, right where Bobby had sat earlier. She was trying to relax, but the seemingly constant worry was rapidly eating away her ability to do so. She hated this, just sitting here, wondering if Bobby would ever come home. She had cried, more than once, at the thought of her life without him. It seemed so lonely, so empty. She hated how she kept checking the clock, seeing how long he'd been gone. It always felt like so much longer. She hated how she always needed to be near him, how he was the center of her world. She'd said she wasn't going to let herself need someone so much. Yet she wouldn't have it any other way. She hated how she'd given up her power just to touch him. It was ironic how when she'd had it, it had seemed a curse, and now that she didn't, she considered it so much more like a gift. She also hated that she only wanted her powers back so she could fight alongside Bobby. She knew she would die for him. She hated how every time Bobby was fighting with the X-Men, she was having this same argument in her head, always wondering whether she had made the right choice. If she hadn't taken the cure her life would be different. She was sure of that, she just wasn't sure if it would be for better or worse.
Then she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her shoulders and she sighed with relief. Bobby kissed her cheek and whispered, "Hey Marie," into her ear.
She smiled, the sound of him saying her name still made her shiver.
"Bobby!" she said happily. She turned around, and when she saw his face her smile widened.
He grinned back at her and made a move to walk around the couch, before simply climbing over the back.
Marie laughed and he asked, with mock-innocence, "What? Walking around would have taken too long!"
She wrapped her arms around his waist and settled her head onto his shoulder as he pulled her onto his lap.
He kissed her hair as she murmured, "I missed you," into his neck.
"I missed you too," replied Bobby, "I always do."
Marie lifted her head and looked into his eyes. Then she pressed her lips to his.
He kissed her back eagerly, and the moment was so sweet it felt surreal. The best part of their separation was always their reunion.
She smiled into the kiss and knew that, if they had gotten her here, all the choices she had ever made were the right ones.
What did you think? I know that when Rogue is waiting for Bobby I used the word "she too much, but I didn't want her name announced until Bobby said it. I hope you liked it! Review please! They make me so happy, so please write them! The don't have to be long, just want to know what you think! Thanks for reading, and if you review (which I know you will cause you're awesome, right?) thanks for that! REVIEW! Mwah, kisses from Ria! :)
