'Pirates of the Caribbean' belongs to Disney.
My contribution to the drabble series Pearlseed started over at JL- credit for the format belongs to her.
Jack's heart, blood, breath stopped in that moment. He was so close to the Black Pearl's berth he could smell her, feel her welcoming planks beneath his boots. In his mind's eye, he leaned just a ebon splinter closer, melding eager hands to her wheel and from that point, their mutual passion for wind, waves and wide sea would ignite, the untrammeled pursuit of open horizon would surely slake his abiding lust for freedom.
He was singularly stunned when he reached the dock's empty terminous, drawing back to spot the black shape grown gray with distance, to realize his incurably traitorous first mate (bloody pirate!) had plundered his treasure once again.
