Author's Note: this fic just wouldn't leave me alone! So I wrote it. If anyone is reading my other story, The Heartbreak of the Scientist, I am so sorry for the long update, I had writer's block, it's over now but my laptop is in the shop and it has the first half of the chapter. So until I get my laptop back, no update. I will try and have it up by the end of October.
I always knew I was different in some way. I just never really thought about it that much. But when my mom pulled me aside to talk to me after my 18th birthday party, I knew something was up.
"So, Kelsey Delfigglo is not even my real name?" I asked.
My mom, Nadia Delfigglo or whatever the hell her real name is, nodded, "yes. I need to tell you the story, please don't think any less of me."
I nodded, lying. I already thought less of her. She lied to me for my whole life.
"I found out I was pregnant with you when I was 18. Your father asked me to marry him and I said yes. I knew that he only asked me because he wanted you to have both your parents together as you grew up. We got married a few weeks later and you were born in March," she smiled. "Your father went to university while I stayed home with you. He graduated when you were four. I remember your smiling face when we congratulated him. Then he went to work for NCIS."
Mom paused for a long 30 seconds. My mind was spinning. This was the most information I had gotten out of my mom about dad since as long as I can remember. The only memory I have of him, or I think it's him, is a handsome man with brown hair and brown eyes smiling at me.
"His job was... demanding, to say the least. He and a group of people investigate the murders of people in the government: Marines, Air Force etc. He also dealt with terrorists. It was stressful, for the both of us. He always had weird hours and his boss was hard to work with. We had so many fights over his job; I wanted him to get a different one and he wanted to stay where he was. Our marriage was falling apart.
"When you were six, I decided that it was time for us to leave, I couldn't handle it. I dropped you off at school because your father was working another case. I then packed up everything I could, besides the furniture. I contacted an old friend over mine that I haven't seen in years. She was a criminal, mostly stealing peoples identities. She gave me the identities of Nadia and Kelsey Delfigglo. I picked you up from school later that day and instead of going home, I went on the freeway and drove till I got here." here being of course the city of Glendale, just outside of Los Angeles.
I could feel the tears forming behind my eyes. She took me away from someone that loved me, because of stress.
"So, you practically kidnapped me," I couldn't hide the anger in my voice, "and stole someone's identity because of stress."
Mom looked down, ashamed. Good, I thought.
"What is my real name anyway? And what's my father's name?"
"Your name is Kelsey DiNozzo, Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo is your father"
