A/N: This is a one shot that came to me after watching 1x06 again. So spoliers for that episode. First time

"You should ask her to dinner."

Often things said by Hetty, made sense and made decisions being made clear. Words of wisdom, Callen liked to call them, not, that he ever told anyone that. But asking her to dinner…

"Kensi?" he asked for clarification.

"Now, why would you assume I was talking about Miss Blye?" Hetty asked, raising an eyebrow in surprise.

"There would be no one…" he trailed off, as a name suddenly hit him. "Agent Giordano?"

"And then take Sam the next night, you know how he gets."

Callen just stared after Hetty as she walked away, feeling confused.

"Wow. I don't think I've ever seen you this confused after a conversation with Hetty," Kensi wrapped her arms around Callen's shoulder in a friendly gesture. She looked him up and down.

"Wow. Such a Canadian," she smiled, laughing gently. Callen smiled back at her, looking her up and down.

"And a typical bartender."

"Thank you," Kensi joked. Then she grew serious. "So…?"

"So what?"

"What did she say to you?"

"Hetty?" he questioned Kensi, not knowing who anyone was talking about anymore.

"No Agent Giordano." Callen raised an eyebrow and Kensi rolled her eyes. "Of course Hetty."

"Oh…" Callen really did not want to tell her what Hetty had said. Not only because part of it was about her, but because of certain feelings that it had sparked.

"You ready?" he figured change of topic was the best way to avoid the conversation.

"Your not avoiding my conversation are you?"

"Would I do that?"

Kensi looked at him.

"Okay… Maybe I would." They both laughed, heading for the door, Kensi's arm still around Callen's shoulders.

"She was telling me I should take Agent Giordano to dinner," Callen decided to tell Kensi. He trusted her opinion, and valued it.

"You should," she advised him, as they reached the car. She dropped her arm from around his shoulder and opened the passenger seat door. "Or, order room service."

"How do you…" he trailed off, eyes narrowing in suspicion. "Sam."

"Nothing stays a secret for long," Kensi told him smiling, as he got into the car. Callen got into the drivers seat.

"Yeah, so what it this I hear about you and a certain agent…?"
