Teenage Sirius stared at the large metal box.

The metal box stared back.

"This muggle place is weird," Sirius thought.

The Marauders had gone to a "shopping mall". Both Sirius and James were disappointed to see there was no actual "mauling" there. Just muggles buying things. La~ame. There wasn't even any exploding gumballs or books that bit your toe when you dropped it!

How can any one live without having their toe bitten by a book?!

Then Sirius saw it. Sirius saw the magic glowing box with its luminated pictures and bright colors. It stood like a doorway to secret pleasures and joy.

"What's THAT?" he asked,

Lupin, more used to muggle outings and therefore the appointed tour-guide for the two other boys, glanced at where Sirius was pointing.

"It's called a vending machine. You put muggle money in and food comes out."

Sirius's eyes widened, "It makes FOOD?"

Lupin rolled his eyes "Yes. It makes food. Do you want anything from it?"

The werewolf handed Sirius a few quarters and explained to put them in the little slot.

"We'll meet you when you're done by that place with the moving stairs!" James called, "Oh! And get me one of those "chocolate bar" things!"

And so it began.

"Okaaaaay. Lets see." Sirius said to no one. It seemed that the "vending" box had too may buttons.

Sirius eventually found the illusive "coin slot" and place to quarters inside.

Nothing happened.

Sirius waited a longer.

Nothing happened.

Sirius got impaitent.

Nothing happened.

Sirius got angry.

Nothing. Happened.

Sirius thought. Than an idea came to mind.

"Accio chocolate bars!" Sirius called,

There were a few bangs and crashes but no food did come out. The box must be invunirable to magic!

"NOOOOOOOO!" Sirius cried in rage, "WHYYYY? WHY MUST LIFE TORTURE ME? SPAWN OF EVIL! DEMON OF SNACK DESPENSERS! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!"

A blast of red light lit up the street.

James looked at his watch.

"Hasn't it been a while scince Padfoot disappeared?" he asked,

"Well, it is Sirius. Maybe he got distracted by something." Lupin said shrugging,

"I'm no expert," said James, "But I think that there is a button-pushing involved with those boxes…"

James and Lupin now looked very scared.

The two wizards rushed down the street coming to where they had left their friend.

There, where the vending machine once stood was a box with a large, searing hole in the middle and Sirius sitting on the ground happily munching on a candy bar.

"Excellent!" James laughed as he rushed to take a snack from the abused machine.

Lupin just shruged and took some chocolate.
