Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, possessing and caressing me…

-Across the Universe, The Beatles

Harry opened his eyes. He could hear the soft snore of his mate Ron, in the old four-post bed. Harry walked into the bathroom, splashed some water on his face, and then preceded

downstairs, heading towards what was left of the great hall. He could not believe it was over. The one thing that had taken over his life was finished. Sadness filled his heart as he saw

those who had lost loved ones mourn over the bodies that had been placed on the tables. He felt tears build up in his eyes, but did not let them fall. The war had taken far too many lives,

and it pained Harry greatly to see all these people in a deep sea of hurt. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and found Ginny. The two of them embraced and started to walk

towards the grounds. They didn't say anything, nor did they need to. The pair reached their favorite spot by the lake, and Ginny began to weep softly into Harry's shoulder. Harry comforted

her, understanding her pain. Harry thought about how happy Ginny made him. He couldn't live without her, and he was sure the feeling was mutual. He then realized that even though there

was a blanket of sorrow covering them now, he would forever have joy in his life; Ginny. He might be able to spend the rest of his life with her. The thought made Harry realize that in his

future with Ginny, there would be no more fighting and no more tears. But that was later. Now was a time for mourning. But happiness and joy would come again.
