Sakura shivered under the moonlight. She could never figure out why but looking at the soft light always made her feel cold. Sasuke next to her stared into the depths of the fire. He and Sakura were waiting for Naruto and Kakashi Sensei to come back. Their current mission had required their team to split up into two. Kakashi and Naruto would return to them soon hopefully with good news. Sasuke's and Sakura's job was simple. To lay traps heading towards the north and then stay put in this spot. She gave another involuntary shiver as she caught a glimpse of the eiry light.

"Sasuke Kun?"

"Hm..."

"Do you think Kaki Sensei will be able to convince him to move base?"

"Kenta San is a stubborn man. He feels that if he leaves he's somehow admitting defeat. And at this point even if we leave now it may not increase our luck. We would've have to have left days ago to be sure it would improve the plan."

"Ahh..." She sounded so stupid she hated it. But what could she do? She didn't think ahead like Sasuke she didn't crazily rush ahead like Naruto. She didn't really bring anything to the team did she?

She glanced up at the sky again. It was beautiful. She stared directly into the moon and it chilled her to the bone. Goosebumps rose on her arms and she shuddered.

She felt a warm arm around her shoulder and she took a sharp intake of breath. Sasuke pulled her toward him and rubbed her arm to warm her.

He didn't feel anything in this right? It was just his conscience acting up. He noticed she was cold and didn't want her to get sick. Yes thats all it was. And perhaps all it ever would be...

Sitting there feeling his warmth emanating next to her she couldn't help but feel at peace. It was moments like these when she felt that someday he could actually like her.

"Sakura, you can go to sleep I'll stay up and wake you when Kakashi and Naruto get back."

Yes it was moments like these they kept her going. She laid her head on his shoulder and drifted off to sleep. Dreaming about a raven haired boy and what their future could hold.
