Lynette was about to drift off to sleep at 10:30 PM when she heard the phone on the nightstand begin to ring. Tom was beside her and groaned.

"Answer it," He said.

"Hello?" Lynette answered, sleepily.

It was Lynette's neighbour and closest friend, Gabrielle Solis.

"Gabby? Hey, what's up?" Lynette said, sitting up in bed.

"Uh, can you come over?" Gabby asked.

"Now? It's late." Lynette said.

"I know but it's important." Gabby said.

Lynette sighed, "Fine." She hung up and grabbed a sweater to put on over the tank top she was sleeping in.

"I'll be right back." She told Tom. She kissed his cheek and went over to Gabrielle's.

She didn't bother knocking because she knew Gabrielle would've left the door open for her.

"Gabby?" She called out.

"I'm in here." Gabby's voice said. It came from the living room.

Lynette saw her friend sitting on the couch with her knees pulled up to her chest.

"Hey sweetie," She said, sitting beside Gabby. "Where's Carlos? What do you need this late?"

"Carlos is asleep upstairs. And while..." Gabby was lost for words about what to tell Lynette about the news she had found out about earlier that day.

"What is it, honey? You can tell me anything." Lynette said. She was worried because of how Gabrielle was acting. She was nervous.

"I'm...pregnant." Gabby said, making Lynette the first person after Carlos she had told.

"Pregnant?" Lynette said, shocked. "But I thought you couldn't have children."

Gabby shrugged, "I thought so too but I went to the doctor today and...Well, you know."

Lynette nodded, "So, are you okay?"

Gabrielle shook her head as her eyes filled with tears.

"Oh, honey," Lynette said as she rubbed Gabrielle's back. "You're going to be a great mom."

"No, I won't. I'll be horrible." Gabrielle said.

"You won't be horrible. Why are you so worried?" Lynette asked.

"I don't know...I just gave up that dream of having children and now that I'm having one I'm conflicted." Gabrielle said.

"What you're feeling is normal. You won't believe what I felt when I found out I was pregnant for the first time. Believe me, you will be an amazing mother."

Gabby managed to work up a weak smile, "I have you as a role model."

Lynette laughed too, "Yes you do. And I'll be with you every step of the way."

"Good because I can't do this alone." Gabrielle said.

"And you won't have to. You have me, you have Carlos, and you have Susan, Bree and Katherine. We're all going to help you." Lynette assured the petite Latina.

"Well, what matters most is that I have you. You really have to help me. I don't know what being pregnant past twelve weeks is like." Gabrielle admitted.

"And don't worry, I will help you." Lynette promised and squeezed her friends shoulder.

Gabrielle wiped her eyes, "Good." She leaned over and hugged Lynette.

"Thank you for being here. I don't know what I would do without you."

Lynette smiled and hugged Gabrielle back. "I'll even go into the delivery room with you if you want." She offered.

Gabrielle laughed, "Good, because I think I might need you to."

Lynette laughed again as her gentle hug and soft whispering into the brunette's ear calmed her pregnant friend down.

Gabrielle really felt like she could do this with Lynette's encouragement. She was scared when she first found out and had felt strange all day but she knew with Lynette by her side everything would work out just fine.
