I'm not very good at writing action scenes so I apologise in advance.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and you all have a Happy New Year!

Chapter 42: The Final Fight

It was time. Everything had been planned out, changed over and over to perfection. They had to act quick – no one knew how Naraku would react once they used the location Jutsu.

A map was laid down on the table, the Shikon no Tama being held above it. Kagome's eyes clenched shut as she concentrated. She could feel the Jewel pulse; it seemed to know that this jutsu was trying to find it's other half. It seemed excited at the thought of being whole again.

Around her everyone waited with bated breath. If this worked correctly, Kagome would drop the jewel and it would land on the map where it's other half is - where Naraku is.

Images flashed in front of Kagome's mind, a desert, large bodies of water, forests –the images moving too fast to grasp just where it is.

Then the flashing stopped and the jewel dropped.

Kagome held her breath as she opened her eyes. The jewel landed over the forest area just outside of Konoha. It was a two day run.

They had to be quick.

Everyone spun into action, Tsunade calling out orders for the jounin and ANBU to get ready and leave. They all started running, having seen the map and knowing where to go.

They ran until they could barely run anymore, nightfall having passed long ago. They stopped and rested for long enough to have their strength back. Then they were off again, speeding through the trees, slowing down the closer they got. Groups of Jounin and ANBU split off, heading around the base to stand guard.

Soon enough the base was circled, everywhere was being watched, every entrance, window, wall.

Kagome could feel the pulse of the jewel inside.

Naraku hadn't moved an inch since the locating jutsu was performed.

This was perfect.

Kagome turned to Tsunade who nodded. Sasuke, Kakashi and Itachi all positioned themselves, hands ready to perform a fire jutsu. The signal was given and in perfect synchronisation, they set the base alight.

A purple light surged through the base and the fire was put out. Following that was a swarm of demons, their cries echoing through the forest as they charged towards them.

It became apparent very quickly that these were only weak demons, the first line of Naraku's defence. They were disposed of quickly, with no injuries or casualties on their side. Shortly after the lesser demons were wiped out, another swarm came out of the base.

These demons were more powerful, making harder for everyone to kill them all. As Kagome looked around she saw all of her friends fighting hard, shuriken and kunai flying through the air, the shick of swords flying through the air and slicing through their targets.

The demons were soon demolished, though not without some injuries to their side. Luckily there were no casualties for them.

The next swarm of demons made Kagome freeze. Jewel shards pulsed from inside the demons. It made the demons savages, hungry for power and for death. They roared in anger, charging towards the nearest jounin. Screams could be heard throughout the forest. It was hard to tell if it was the monsters dying of if it was the dying screams of jounin.

Kagome was devastated by the casualties on their side. But she had to stay focused. She ran around, helping kill demons and collected their shards of the jewel. They were only small, obviously broken off by Naraku in preparation for a fight.

Shortly after the demons came out there was a laugh from the base and a large gust of wind swept through the surrounding forest.

Kagura came sweeping out of the base on her feather, Kanna perched behind her. The feather touch the ground and Kagura swiped out with the fan, jounin being thrown back by the powerful gust of wind.

"Well," she laughed. "Isn't this going to be fun!"

Kanna stepped off the feather, her blank eyes roaming the area, her mirror shining temptingly.

"Kagome!" InuYasha yelled towards her. "Keep collecting jewel shards! We'll cover Kagura and Kanna!"

Sesshomaru and InuYasha started attacking Kagura, Roxy and Natasha helping. Kagura flicked her fan and shot off up into the air, laughing as she sent attack after attack.

Kagome dodged the attack of a demon, pulling out a kunin knife and stabbing it's side. A jewel shard flew out and Kagome was quick to catch it. She turned around, trying to find what happened to Kanna. She found her standing in front of a jounin. The jounin was looking at Kanna curiously, and looked down towards the mirror.

Before she could call out a warning there was a flash and Kagome knew she was too late. The jounin turned around and launched himself into the fight, attacking jounin left right and centre. Kanna disappeared and reappeared in random places around the forest. More souls were soon sucked into the mirror and Kagome watched as allies attacked each other.

Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara quickly made their way over to Kanna, knocking out the soulless jounin.

Kanna stared at them blankly before melting down into a puddle. The mirror was facing up, glinting dangerously. They were at a loss, unsure of what was about to happen.

There was a flash of light and a figure started coming out of the mirror, growing bigger and bigger until it towered over everyone. It looked like it was made of glass, it's armour, skin and hair shining silver. It's eyes locked onto a nearby jounin and soon launched into an attack, hands forming signs and casting jutus.

Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara launched into action, launching attacks towards the demon. Kanna reappeared, this time without a mirror, watching as the demon attacked more jounin. The demon's eyes locked onto Sango, particularly the Hiraikotsu. There was a flash of light and the demon had a hiraikotsu poised ready in its hand.

They stared in shock, narrowly avoiding a swing of the boomerang. The group quickly started fighting back.

Kagura wasn't fairing as well as her older sister was. Her main hand had been severed and the other one injured. She was having trouble controlling her fan and the only thing currently keeping her safe was the feather she was perched on, high above them. But even that was starting to fall apart due to the attacks she was receiving.

She knew she was going to die. But she didn't want to. She never wanted to fight but Naraku had a grip on her she couldn't shake. Unless Naraku was destroyed there was nothing she could do but fight and die for him.

Kagura forced her feather to fly higher. Her gaze flittered across the area landing on Kanna. Her eyes widened when she saw the Mirror Demon, knowing immediately what Kanna was ordered to do. Kagura knew that Naraku's orders meant the death of her older sister, something she didn't want to happen.

Her decision was made. Let's just hope it wasn't in vain.

"Wait!" she cried out. "I can't do this anymore! I don't want to fight!" Her feather flew towards the ground. They all stopped what they were doing, watching her in shock. "I do not want to die and I don't want my sister to die either. I will help you fight Naraku!"

Kagome walked towards the wind demon. "Why? Why are you going to help us?" she asked.

Kagura stepped down on the ground. "I told you – I don't want to die." She said, desperation leaking into her voice.

Kagome nodded. "But there is more to it, isn't there?"

There was more to it, but Kagura couldn't speak. Her eyes flittered towards the base where Naraku was hiding. She didn't want to be under his control anymore, she didn't believe in what he was doing.

"We don't like being under Naraku's control." Kanna's voice broke through her thoughts. "What he is doing will going to destroy us all."

Kagome nodded, understanding what they were saying. "You will help us defeat him?" she asked.

"We will do anything you want us to." Kagura said strongly.

Before they could talk more laughter rang through the clearing and mist billowed out of the building. Jounin started dropping the ground, unconscious until all that were Kagome's friends, Kagura and Kanna.

Kanna turned to Kagura. Kagura nodded after a moment and to everyone's shock the Mirror Demon starting cracking before falling to the ground in a pile of shards. Kanna picked up a handful and through them towards Kagome.

Kagome cried out in pain as a shard lodged into her eye. What was that for?!" she cried out but the answer never came. Four of Naraku's puppets suddenly appeared in front of her.

All four of them raised their right hand and Kagura ad Kanna dropped to the ground, motionless.

"I will deal with them later." Naraku growled, his voice echoing through the silent clearing. "First, however, I must deal with you." The puppets charged into the remaining group, attacking.

They all split into 4 groups, going after a puppet each; Group 1 was Sesshomaru, Roxy, Kakashi, Ken, Iruka, Isshi, Hidan and Kakuzu, Group 2 was Sango, Miroku, Kirara, Shippo, InuYasha, Natasha and Konan, Group 3 was Tsunade, Shizune, Kiyan, Kankuro, Temari and Itachi and Group 4 was Shino, Hitomi, Kiba, Jaydi, Hinata, Valdon, Tobi and Zetsu.

The puppets ran in different directions, splitting them up and leaving behind Kagome, Gaara, Sasuke, Naruto, Ashleigh, Sakura, Pein, Sasori and Deidara.

They watched the entrance of the base, waiting for the next step in Naraku's attack.

A figure appeared in the doorway, slowly walking out towards them. Naraku stood in front of them, a dark smile on his face. "Oh, this is going to be so much fun." He laughed.

They all launched into an attack. He was fluid as he defended their attacks and dealt some of his own. One by one members of the other groups started coming back as they defeated the puppets. Naraku hissed in annoyance and reached into his robe. Kagome saw the purple glow and knew immediately what Naraku was going to do. But it was too late.

With a quick motion, Naraku slammed his half of the jewel into his chest, absorbing it. His laughter rang through the forest as his skin started to bubble and change. Spider legs burst through his skin and his skin turned a dark purple and green. Fangs grew from his mouth, taking up most of his face and his eyes turned completely black.

With a wave of his hand, Kanna and Kagura collapsed to the ground. "I will deal with them when I am done." He growled. "First, I will deal with you." His eyes locked on Kagome and with a flash of dark purple the area was full of miasma and everyone dropped to the ground. All that was left was Kagome.

One of his legs came flying towards her and Kagome grabbed Gaara and jumps back, dodging the leg and getting Gaara out of the line of fire.

Naraku noticed her protective grip on Gaara. "I see," he laughed. "I wonder what you will die when I KILL HIM!"

Streams of green glowing spiders webs came towards them at all angles. Kagome knew she wouldn't be able to dodge this. She knew there was only one thing left that she could do.

"Alaria, you ready?"

"Hells yeah, I am!"

Her eyes turned gold and her black markings turned orange-red. Three tails appeared behind her and she let out a roar, fangs protruding from her mouth.

Just as the webs hit them there was a flash of red. The green glowing webs dropped limply to the ground.

"Get away from my MATE!" she screamed, launching herself at a stunned Naraku.

Her claws sunk into his flesh and her fangs sank into her jugular. Before Naraku could even blink he was torn apart. Body parts flew across the field. Alaria smiled smugly to herself as she looked around the area.

"My job is done." She said before letting Kagome take back control.

Kagome looked around, her gaze stopped when it saw glowing purple. She slowly went over and picked up Naraku's half of the jewel. Getting out her own half, they fused together with a bright flash.

With a gasp, Kagome found herself being lifted into the air, purple light shining around her. The jewel lifted from her palm, pulsed, before pushing itself into her side, fusing with her body.

Kagome dropped to the ground with a smile. It was done.

Groans could be heard around the area as everyone started to wake up and Kagome immediately rushed over to her awakening mate.

His green eyes snapped open and immediately searched for Kagome. When he found her sitting next to him he sat up and was pulled into a big hug.

"It's over." Kagome whispered happily.

I hope you like it!
