Disclaimer: Cassandra Clare writes for a living. Therefore, she's probably a lot more diligent in her writing routine than I am.
I smiled. "Stop flattering me."
"It's not flattery if it's true."
"Jaaaace," I faux-whined.
I could feel him grin as he kissed me again.
I woke the next morning wrapped in Jace's arms, and tried to turn to face him without waking him. But when I turned around, I saw that he was already awake. He smiled at me. "'Morning."
"G'morning," I replied. "What time is it?"
He shrugged. "You're the one facing the clock."
"Yeah, but you're blocking my view."
"I'm much nicer to look at, anyway."
I rolled my eyes as I propped myself up on my elbow. 10:49. "We should get up."
Jace sighed, stretching his arm and hitting the wall in the process. "Okay."
Ten minutes later, we were in the kitchen. It was, surprisingly, empty. Jace rummaged around in the fridge for a while before giving up and suggesting we go to Taki's. I had no objection, but before I could say so, Jaze and Aspen walked in.
"And that's why I think that the titanic was built by downworlders," Jaze was saying.
Aspen rolled her eyes. "Jaze, there would be a record of that."
"Not necessarily!" he argued, then noticed us. "Oh. Hi."
Jace laughed. "Hey. We were just headed to Taki's. Wanna come?"
"Sure," Jaze said, failing to ask Aspen's opinion in the same way that Jace had failed to confirm mine.
Ugh, you guys won't even accept my apologies. Even I don't accept my apology. I've kind of come to terms with being an awful person. A year, really? I can't believe it's been over a year. God, I'm awful. Um, is there any chance at all that you could review? No? I understand. I'm trying to give some closure on this story, though. There's probably one more chapter coming. At some point. Hopefully soon-ish. Sooner than a year from now. Sorry about that. Is anyone even going to read this? Probably not. Unless you're reading the entire story for the first time. In which case, welcome! I hope you liked it. I like to think you did, if you've read all the chapters. But do any new readers even read author's notes? Aaaaaanyway, I'm going to stop rambling now. I seriously will try to update. Okay, love you all, even though you probably don't love me anymore.
