Hey all! Time for a quick one shot I came up with while watching the music video for "Feel Good Inc." a bit dark, but I think it's bearable. It's also in Mighty's point of view.
It's been years since this whole thing started, but I can still remember it vividly. You see, we had this club going on, basically a place where we could eat, have fun, and complain about why we haven't been in any video games recently.
Link let us meet in his café, seeing as he was always supposed to be someone else in each game, and was sympathetic.
So, me and the others would go down to the 'Ocarina Café' and talk. Seeing us at the café every week must have alerted the companies, and eventually got our own game.
We all knew it was a one-shot that would only be continued if the public loved it. By the time the third game came out two years later, Sonic and Mario were forced back to handhelds, never again getting a console game.
That's when fame got to our heads. We became celebrities, did the good role model act in public and the tainted celebrity in private.
That's probably why no one seemed to notice when the city started being more and more crime filled. When it became clear the city was no longer safe, they built a tower and stuck a bunch of "important" people in here.
That was three years ago. The city below is still in turmoil, and the other day, I saw a most peculiar sight. An island holding a small house and a windmill was flying.
However, my spirits were lifted when he saw a young rabbit girl walk out. I instantly knew this must have been the daughter my old friend Vanilla was talking about.
She looked just like her mother, except she looked sad, I went too a different window and saw a pink hedgehog nursing Vanilla, who looked sick.
I looked at the other side of the room at 2D. He had succumbed to the insanity only a day ago. I was the last left. I wrote a note; put it into an envelope I had on me, put 'To V, from M' on it, and hurled it out the window right through the open window in Vanilla's room.
I walked over to the 'defeat' chair that was reserved for me. I had already modified mine so it would be peaceful, unlike how it was intended.
I strapped in, turned it on, and went towards the light…
"What's it say?" Amy asked. It was unheard of for anything to leave 'Feel Good Inc, as we called it.
I looked at what was written on the envelope. I opened it carefully and when I took the letter, I began to read it.
Hello Vanilla. It's been quite a while hasn't it? I thought I should tell you a few things. At the time of writing, I am the only still alive in the tower. However, by the time you read this, there will be no life left inside. I thought I should let you know this, so you can demolish this tower and use it's pieces to fight whatever war is going on at the moment. I must say, it was nice to see your daughter who you kept mentioning. As a way to help keep your spirit's up, here's a poem written by one greater than myself.
Windmill, Windmill for the land.
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all there on your stride
It is tinkling, falling down
Love forever love is free
Let's turn forever you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?
