5A strong wind begins to blow as the Sakura petals fall into the meadow. As if some sort of force is drawing the petals together they become closer. Then light, brighter than any star, flashes on. The light and the petals swirl together and create a rainbow of colors under the dark night sky. Fire erupts in the meadow but instead of death, life is born. A wolf is sleeping under the dense canopy of the Sakura trees.
"Amaterasu, it is time to wake from your endless sleep."
The wolf's eyes open slowly and her surroundings begin to materialize. Her eyes instinctively search for the voice that woke her. Finally, the wolf's eyes meet the speaker's: Sakuya, the tree sprite.
"Amaterasu, I'm not the one who should tell you that you need to get a move on. The Fire Nation is still searching for you. Changing yourself into the spirit of the Sakura trees was a smart move at the time but you can't stay like this forever. You have heard prayers of those who need help in your sleep and it is time you fulfill them. It is time the Solar Flare is returned to its rightful owner."
Sakuya opens her arms and the brilliantly colored reflector settles itself down on the wolf's back. Crimson markings immediately form on the wolf's pure white coat and Amaterasu's true form is seen after many months. Ammy (short for Amaterasu) stretches and rises. She looks towards the moon and howls.
Zuko wakes at Ammy's howl and rushes towards his uncle's room.
"Uncle! Uncle, wake up! I heard a wolf's howl it has to be Shiranui's," Zuko exclaims.
"Huh… What? We have been through here many times Prince Zuko it is probably just another dog," Iroh murmurs.
"No, wolves don't live in Cherry Blossom Heights anymore. It has to be Shiranui's. Come on wake up, we must leave at once."
"Prince Zuko, we had a long night playing Pi Sho and eating fried duck, let the crew rest a bit. We will get up in the morning."
"Fine have it your way then." Zuko angrily storms back to his room.
Morning comes and Prince Zuko, General Iroh, and their crew ride on the backs of Komodo Rhinos towards the sound of the howl heard last night. After about an hour they find a wolf feeding local animals in a forest of Sakura trees.
"Finally, after three long years I have you within my reach. You won't get away from me this time," Zuko yells at the wolf with the crimson markings while shooting a fire ball. The crew members surround Amaterasu and begin to fire at will. Ammy's fleet foot technique allows her to dodge with grace. With full view of every crew member, she calls upon the divine wind to blow the men of their Komodo Rhinos and Thunderbolt to stun them. Amaterasu absorbs Zuko's fire ball attacks making her even faster and appearing before him knocking him to the ground as well. With the Blade of Kusunagi pressed up against his throat she gives Zuko a message: "You have a difficult life ahead of you and when the time comes to make a decision I hope you choose correctly."
Amaterasu releases him and turns instead to Iroh. "Help this child through his life."
Iroh looking surprised nods and helps Zuko to his feet. Once on his feet Zuko looks up ready to fight again but instead seeing leaves rustling in a windless day.
