Arrows ban to remain

The Department of magical games and sports announced yesterday that despite a petition with over three hundred thousand signatures that a ban on the Supporters of the Appleby Arrows (Founded 1612) shooting arrows into the air from their wands when the team scores a goal, will remain in force having been put in place after one of those magical arrows skewered the referee Nugent Potts through the nose during a game against the Wimbourne Wasps (March 15th 1894)

Current Arrows Seeker Gregory Cotton told the prophet exclusively "While I am disappointed by the Departments stance on the upholding of the ban, it would be nice to bring the tradition back… we will keep petitioning this till the ban is lifted"

The Great-Great Granddaughter of Nugent Potts, miss Lucile Potts, of Coventry contacted the Prophet with the following short note "My Great-Great Grandfather died in 1928, and was buried with that arrow in his hand, it would be a stain on his memory to have the ban lifted… I urge the ministry to uphold this ban"

Ministry Officials could not be contacted for comment Yesterday…

The Arrows are currently preparing for a European cup Semi-Final first leg versus the Karasjok Kites.
