I couldn't help it, its minuets to midnight and the first decade of 2000 is over soon, I had to.

Disclaimer-I don't own, wish I did, but I don't, oh well.

Another year. 2010 was coming to a close and yet, here she was. Single. That year marked Clover's 6 year anniversary with Blaine-poor Blaine. It also marked the engagement of Alex and her fiancé, Daniel. But nothing in the Love section happened for Samantha Simpson.

Out of college, one of W.H.O.O.P.'s best super spies, and only 24. Still, no husband, fiancé, boyfriend or even that awkward crush to speak of. Just one lost love-if it could even be called that. Did an unrequited one sided crush/love count as love? No, she didn't think so.

As she looked up at the New Year's Ball in Times Square, she laughed to herself. Years later, she was still in love with that criminal. It was illogical, it was dangerous, hell, it was stupid-but isn't Love all that at one point or another?

A brisk wind blew and ruffled her crimson hair. She clutched her dark purple coat to herself and sighed. Why did she even come to New York? Why didn't she stay in Cali? Or even go to her family's annual New Year's Party? Why did she come to cold New York City-some where she had never been before, to get meshed in a mob of a crowd in the last minutes of the decade?

She looked at the fellow patrons of the annual event. Each were smiling, laughing-some drinking, every one of them were happy with each other. But here she was, alone in a strange city on a special night. Maybe she shouldn't have come…maybe she should've stayed home… she didn't belong here-no she did-

"Fancy meeting you here, Samantha" a familiar voice said next to her.

Sam turned and her eyes widened. Scam. Tim Scam was there. Next to her. In New York City…but-but why?

"Sc-Scam?"

"Hello to you too, Samantha. Nice night huh?" he wasn't looking at her, no; the Famed New Year's Ball had his attention.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, she would've tried to apprehend him but, well, he wasn't doing anything bad exactly, and if they did fight, she would be putting innocent civilians at risk.

"Same thing you are. Enjoying the view"

10…

"And out of jail?" she said with her head cocked to the side"

9…

"Why not-just for the next few moments, forget everything? Hmm? Is that such a bad thought?" he asked her, as he turned to face her. Rare sea foam gems gleamed in the illuminated area, bearing into her own emeralds.

8…

"Bu-"she started.

"C'mon, Sammie. Live a little. What's the worst that could happen? Hmm?" he gave a dark chuckle.

7…
"Fine. But after tonight, I'm bringing you in, Scam" she hissed

6…

He smirked his trademark smirk and nodded in agreence.

5…

"Understood." He said, his hand had moved to her waist mysteriously.

4…

"Wha-What do you think you're doing?" she asked, a blush raising to her cheeks

3…

"Oh nothing-yet" he told her, leaning in.

2…

"Scam…?" she lightly bit her lip. She might as well…

1…

They kissed. Lips against lips, fitting in a perfect mesh. A loud roar erupted around them-mayhem? Chaos? Oh she couldn't care. He was a distraction, and a wonderful one at that.

"Happy New Year, Samantha…" he said, looking her right in the eye.

"Happy New Year, Tim…"
