Doctor Grace Holloway would sit down, some place quiet, dark, and wonder where the Doctor was. Wonder what he was doing and if he ever thought of her.
Sometimes, she would see someone watching her from the distance and wonder if it was him. She once saw a tall guy, standing off by himself. He had a leather jacket, a sweater under it and big ears. She thought she saw him smile at her as she walked down the street with her husband.
She took her daughter to school one day, and saw a man with a long coat and pin-striped suit, standing in a corner of the school playground. The man looked lost and lonely, but never moved closer to Grace.
One day, as she was leaving the hospital after a very long and hard day of surgeries, she saw a man in a suit, with a red bow tie. She wasn't sure why she even paid attention to him. The man was younger than she was, but there was something about him...
Grace sucked it up and walked over to him. She looked at him very carefully. "Doctor?"
The young man smiled at her, "Grace, it's so good to see you!"
"You've gotten younger!" said Grace. "I love your bowtie."
"Bowties are cool," said the Doctor. "How have you been?"
"I've been good," she said. "I'm married and have two kids."
"Yes, Peter, Amy and Matt," said the Doctor. "You forget who you are talking to."
Grace started to laugh, "Yes, I forgot."
"Have you regretted not coming with me?"
"All the time, but, then, I look at my family and realize I made the right call."
"I'm glad," said the Doctor. He turned to look off into the distance. "Well, I should be going. I have some travelling companies to locate. They've never been to San Francisco before."
"Doctor, would you like to come home with me and meet my family?" asked Grace.
He smiled at Grace, "I don't think that would be a good idea, for now. I promise I will come back and meet them, soon."
"Alright," said Grace. "But you better come back and meet them or I hunt you down."
The Doctor smiled at Grace and he held up his hand to show he swore.
Grace leaned over and kissed the Doctor's cheek. He turned and walked away.
