FANG POV
I swear I wasn't aware of what exactly had been coming out of my mouth. The words flew out as soon as a thought appeared in my mind. I couldn't control what exactly I had been telling her, all my secrets had been spilled in front of her. Just like this, I opened up to her like I never did before to anyone. I am sure a day would come when all of this would come back at me in order to bite me in the ass. And that day would sooner than I could possibly expect. But here, I just let something slip, that wasn't actually my secret. Somehow Iggy's name came through my stories and Max did catch that out. Too bad Iggy wasn't the most popular name around...
"Iggy? What? No... I said Piggy" I muttered, turning my gaze away from her, struggling to think of a good lie to sell her. "I said Piggy" I repeated, now sounding more confident. "Piggy's the nickname of one of my teammates. I know, quite stupid one, but well, he was really sloppy and somehow the name stuck to him" I explained myself and looked back at Max. Her face told me she didn't buy my lie. Somehow the story didn't seem too credible to her. I was just about to open my mouth in order to make my story even more coloured, when Max started to laugh.
"Piggy" She chuckled and shook her head "That's cute! For a moment I thought, that maybe my Iggy would have something to do with you! But that would be so silly, hahaha! Iggy in a gang! Impossible!" she continued on laughing as I stared at her relieved. So she did buy my lie. I was glad. Though honestly, how was it possible that Iggy lived a double life? No one in gang knowing about his little lover and his little lover having no idea about the gang... Interesting... Maybe Iggy was much more cunning than I ever thought. But that wasn't my problem and I wasn't planning in spilling his secrets now. That could have been dangerous for me too.
Max smiled at me again before finally raising up from my bed. She entered the closet for a moment before coming out with the first aid kid.
"I need to change your bandage" She said, pointing at my side. I nodded my head and sat up in order to make it easier for her. I turned my gaze away from her though... She didn't comment a word about everything I told her. She didn't pat my shoulder or tell me comforting words. She just listened to the depressing story of my life and passed on as if she didn't just hear what he had heard. Maybe she was silently analyzing it all in her head now and stating certain opinion about me. I couldn't tell. I was so curious, wanted to shout at her for ignoring my confession, but stayed silent this time. One emotional outburst for a day was enough.
"Ah, your wound seems to be healing nicely! I did good job!" she praised herself as she slowly unwrapped my body. Her gentle fingers ran across my injury and I hissed silently. She apologized quickly but continued to softly touch my body.
"I am checking for inner bleeding. Never can be sure without all the equipment if there's something more serious going on inside. I sadly have no roentgen or ultrasonograph in my eyes to check." She gave me a small comforting smile, before reaching out for her first aid kid. She took some bottle out and the bandage. First she spilled the liquid on my wound and I cursed in pain. She grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze, before repeating her action. I squeezed my eyes shut in order not to scream and gripped her hand even tighter. The feeling of burning disappeared after a while, making me relax my muscles and slowly let the breath out.
"Now, I will nicely wrap your body. You've been such a good boy. You deserve a sticker!" she exclaimed, smiling at me playfully. I tried to return her smile, but something more like a grimace came out.
When she finished, I lied back down and closed my eyes. I could hear Max standing up and putting the box away.
"So what do you want to do now?" she asked and I just shrugged casually. I could hear her sigh as she realized I was back to my normal silent self. "I don't have a TV, but if you wish I can turn you some movie on my laptop. I need to study for my classes tomorrow."
I shrugged again but opened my eyes in order to watch her. She walked over to her desk and irritated raised up the books and papers, searching around. The mess was pretty impressive I must say. The hill made of papers seemed to be ready to fall down any second. And just as soon as the thought crossed my mind, Max's hand hit it and it all flew up. Her eyes widened as she watched her notes fall down on the floor in slow motion. She stood frozen, her eyes staring blankly ahead, when suddenly a big smile appeared on her face.
"Oh, here it is!" she exclaimed grabbing the laptop, that happened to be hidden under all these papers. She approached me, evading stepping on any of her notes. She placed the computer in front of me and logged in. I smirked to myself noticing her password. Lingdock. Heh, I wonder what made her pick this and not different sequence of letters. She must have realized my cocky smile as she blushed deeply, avoiding my eyes.
"What movie would you like to see?" she asked, her fingers flowing smoothly on the keyboard. I shrugged, not really knowing much about films when something caught my eye.
"Wait, wait. Can you press this?" I pointed to the screen, on the thin line in the bottom of the page. Hottest news. "Can you read me this article?" I asked again, narrowing my eyebrows, recognizing the familiar picture. Max did as she was told and opened the site. I could feel my heart start beating faster as I stared at the photo above the article. Oh, no. I gulped loudly. Max started to read.
" Two, head devoid corpses had been found attached to the local bridge. They were wrapped in a white sheet with a red message written on it. Take care. The witness say the bodies must have been affixed in the night from 16th February to 17th. The cadavers identity is still unknown. Is this another rumble in between the gangs? The local police commandant say there is no reason to worry. The police have everything under control. He warns though to avoid passing lonely through the dangerous streets and environs. Are our lives in danger then? Are the two corpses just a sign of upcoming storm?"
I listened to her, feeling the blood in my veins freeze. So that was it. The Boss decided to go on the gang war.
"They think I am dead. So they declared the war to the Scorpios..." I took a deep breath and looked Max into her eyes. "Now all the hell is going to get lose"
Pretty please, review! New reviews = new chapters! :D
