Everyone was gathered at Kaguya and all mobile suits and equipment loaded onto the Kusanagi. Cagalli was still waiting to find out what her father was planning. She was beginning to worry they would not find out in time. Finally, one of her soldiers ran up to her.
"What did you find out" asked Cagalli?
"They are planning to blow up Morgenrote and the mass driver once the Archangel and Kusanagi are safely away," said the soldier.
"How do they plan to do it" asked Cagalli?
"There wasn't enough time to find out," said the soldier.
"Damn it" growled Cagalli.
"They are going to foolishly sacrifice themselves aren't they," said Kira.
"Idiots" said Karui.
Chief Erica Simmons came up to them and said, "It's time to leave."
"Have the Freedom and Justice been loaded" asked Kira?
"Yes" said Erica nodding her head.
"You are not flying up" asked Cagalli?
"There is no reason to" said Karui.
"We want to be there for you just in case," said Kira.
"Thank you" said Cagalli.
They made their way to the entrance to the Kusanagi where they saw Lord Uzumi waiting for them.
"Cagalli" said Uzumi.
"Father" said Cagalli.
Kira and Karui went through the entrance and watched the conversation.
"You don't have to do this" said Cagalli.
"It is for the best" said Uzumi.
"You don't have to do it this way" said Cagalli.
"You will be a much better leader than I ever was" said Uzumi.
"You will not be doing it alone" he said.
"You will be with your brother" he said handing Cagalli a picture.
Cagalli's eyes widened when she saw it was a picture of her and Kira as babies. Kira and Karui were shocked as well but Karui quickly shook it off. She pulled Cagalli into the Kusanagi as the entrance shut and sealed itself.
The Archangel took off and fired both Lohengrin. It then activated the attached boosters and shot though the path created by the Lohengrin into space. The core of the Kusanagi shot down the mass driver and into space. Once both ships were clear both the mass driver and Morgenroete blew up.
Once the shock wore off, Cagalli grabbed Kira in a hug and kissed him that Kira immediately returned. They soon had to separate for air.
"These changes nothing, you are still the same fiery girl I fell in love with," said Kira.
"We will just have to be careful when we have kids" he said smiling.
Cagalli smiled as she laid her head on his shoulder.
"How is this possible" asked Cagalli?
"I don't know," said Kira.
Karui picked up the picture that Cagalli dropped and looked at it. Her eyes widened when she noticed that Kira's and Cagalli's birth mother looked familiar.
"I think I know who we can talk to" said Karui.
"Who" asked Cagalli?
Karui showed them the picture and said, "Look familiar."
Kira's eyes widen as he exclaimed "My mom is our aunt!"
"WHAT" yelled Cagalli?
She took the picture and took a closer look at it.
"Why wouldn't she say anything" asked Cagalli?
"She knows about us" she said.
"We will ask her once all this is over," said Kira.
"Did they do it" asked Cagalli?
"Yes" said Karui nodding her head.
"They both blew up once the Kusanagi was away" she explained.
"That cowardly fool" growled Cagalli.
They went to their quarters where they were contacted to head to the bridge. When they arrived, they saw everyone was already there including Captain Ramius and Commander La Flaga.
"What is it" asked Cagalli?
"We were discussing where to head to" said Kisaka.
"We were thinking Mendel," said Erica.
"Why there" asked Cagalli?
"It was abandoned due to biohazard threat" said La Flaga.
"But that was 16 years ago, so it should be fine" he added.
Both Kira and Karui quickly shared a look saying that sounded like a coverup.
"Then let's head there then" said Cagalli.
The three of them left the bridge and headed back to their quarters.
"We may find the answers we are looking for there," said Kira.
"You think we were born there" asked Cagalli?
"Yes" said Kira.
"Whatever they were working on there probably has to do with how I am a coordinator and you a natural and were killed for its" he explained.
"That sounded like the basic coverup for a lab" said Karui.
"I still want to know why she didn't tell us since she must be the one that took us away from there" said Cagalli.
At their secret base in the PLANTs, a soldier came up to Lacus and Samui.
"Both mobile suits have been secretly loaded onto the Eternal successfully," said the soldier.
"Excellent" said Lacus.
"Now we are ready to leave when needed" she said.
Suddenly a soldier ran up to them.
"Lacus-Sama, I have grave news" said the second soldier.
"What is it" asked Lacus?
"Your father has been murdered" said the second solider,
"WHAT" yelled Lacus?!
"How" asked Samui?
"Zala's forces found them and cut the building in half with gunfire, there were no survivors" explained the second soldier.
Lacus clenched her hands into fists and forced herself to calm down.
"Begin preparations to leave" ordered Lacus.
"We are leaving now" she said.
"Right away" said both soldiers running away.
Samui guided Lacus back to her room. Once inside, Lacus broke down and started crying into Samui's shoulder.
Sometime later, Lacus calmed down and wiped the remaining tears from her eyes. She then quickly washed her face before her and Samui left her room. They saw two soldiers waiting outside for them.
"Is everything ready" asked Lacus?
"We are all ready to leave," said the soldier.
"Then let us depart" said Lacus.
They left their base and made their way to Eternal's hanger. Once on board, Lacus and Samui headed to the pilot's locker room. They both got changed into their pilot suits. Lacus took out her helmet and looked at it. She took a deep breath before putting her helmet on. She went to the entrance and saw Samui waiting for her in her custom pilot suit.
"Are you ready for what may happen" asked Samui?
"Yes" said Lacus determined.
They headed to the hanger and got into their Gundams. Lacus' Gundam had the body of the Freedom with two large white wings on its back. There were two long beam rifles stored on its back and two beam sabers on its waist. Samui's Gundam also had the body of the Freedom with two large black wings on its back. There was a large hilt stored on its back and two beam pistols and two beam sabers on its waist.
"We are ready" said Lacus.
The Eternal blasted out of its hanger with its main cannon and quickly flew away from the PLANTs. They were quickly chased by a large ZAFT force.
"Here they come," said Aisha.
"Lacus Clyne, Angel launching!"
"Samui, Fallen launching!"
They both flew behind the Eternal and started keeping pace with it. They both saw the large force coming towards them.
"I will manage this" said Lacus.
"Are you sure" asked Samui?
"Yes" said Lacus determined.
She set her communication channel wide.
"We are not your enemies, please allow us to go in peace" said Lacus.
"Our true enemy are the ones that continue to prolong this war" she continued.
"Haven't we lost enough already" she asked?
"Don't listen to her words, she is a traitor."
Lacus sighed as she set her communications back to normal.
"I tried" thought Lacus.
A seed fell and exploded in her mind as she brought out her beam rifles. They were bigger, longer, and more powerful than normal. She brought them together and started charging them. The ZAFT mobile suits separated to avoid where she would fire causing Lacus to smirk seeing they fell for it.
She fired her beam rifles and separated them sweeping them out destroying the ZAFT mobile suits and damaging the ships behind them. The stragglers that were left were taken out by the Eternal's missile spam.
Angel and Fallen returned to the Eternal that quickly left the area. Lacus and Samui headed to the locker room to get changed. Lacus took off her helmet as her seed faded. She dropped her helmet and hugged herself as she started shaking.
"Why am I shaking" asked Lacus?
"I knew this would happen and what I had to do" she said.
"It happens to everyone" said Samui.
"It does" asked Lacus looking at Samui?
"Yes" said Samui nodding her head.
"There is no real way to prepare to kill someone" she said.
"Does it get better" asked Lacus?
"It does" said Samui.
"But you need to be careful in the future since you didn't get the full experience" she said.
Lacus looked confused for a moment before she realized what Samui meant.
"I didn't see them actually die" said Lacus.
"Yes" said Samui.
"You used the Seed didn't you" she said.
"Yes" said Lacus.
"I did to help me stay calm out there" she said.
"Don't become dependent on it" said Samui.
"I know" said Lacus.
Having calmed down some, Lacus finished changing and left the locker room with Samui. They headed to the bridge and went inside.
"That was impressive," said Andrew seeing them.
"Thank you" said Lacus.
"Where are we heading" she asked?
"To rendezvous with the Kusanagi and Archangel," said Andrew.
"Very good" said Lacus.
