AN: AU, and I don't own anything from this universe. I know it might be a bit cliche, but the plot bunny wouldn't stop biting me.

My name is Hermione Granger. Really, I should say that mine name is now Hermione Granger. My previous name matters not, at least not anymore. As far as anyone is concerned, I am Hermione Granger, with her memories and wishes. The previous one died in her 5th year at Hogwarts, at the Ministry of Magic by that fatal strike. That is when I took her place. It is now the eve of my Graduation, and here I sit on the top of the tallest tower, watching the sunrise.

Right before the tips of the rays breach the horizon, I hear someone behind me. I know that only one other person in this castle is as restless or unable to sleep as myself.

"Hello Severus." I state without turning around.

"Miss. Granger, 15 points from Gryffindor for being out after curfew, and 50 more for speaking with no disrespect." Snape snarled as he stalked towards the edge of the tower.

"We both know that that doesn't matter. Points are only a moment in time, not like the sunrise. No matter who dies today, or tomorrow, who wins or loses this war, the sun will always rise the next day."

With this, Severus stopped walking forward, and as I looked behind me, I could see on his face that he was finally seeing me for who I really was.

"Miss. Granger... What an interesting point of view. Pray tell, are you going to end up jumping off this tower before I leave, or after?"

"That wouldn't matter. Not one bit. I am an observer in this war, nothing more, nothing less. I report to no one except myself, unlike you. Both masters looking out for themselves, not caring if you drop dead the next day. What a terrible life that must be."

As I continued speaking, Snape slinked closer, this time with his wand out.

"Who are you? You do not speak like you are a seventh year, you speak as though you are older than everyone else in this castle."

"Time matters not to me, I observe, nothing more, nothing less. I feel for you, so I can offer you a third choice. Join me, though it will be in more ways than one. I'll show you that the sun will always rise... always."

I turned to Severus and took hid hand, and as the sun peaked over the horizon, walked back down the tower.
