A/N I imagine Finn might find awkward conversations easier on the phone than face to face
Finn
The text from Kurt was brief and to the point,
'Parents out. Don't come home.' Finn looked at it and wondered first, where their parents had gone and then how long Kurt expected him to stay out. Then something else occurred to him and he stopped dead in the corridor.
Only a week ago Kurt had told them that Blaine had kissed him and they were going out. Finn had been expecting this, but it was still strange to think of Kurt with a boyfriend. But now he was remembering another part of the conversation, about Kurt not being sexy and, worse, about Blaine asking Burt to talk to Kurt about sex. Was he going to show Kurt? That was the usual reason for teenage guys to ask their siblings to stay out the house for a bit.
But it was too soon, and Finn was trying very hard not to think about Kurt doing anything like that, but did one talk with Burt make him ready? Finn liked Blaine but he did not know him that well, and to have gone from a kiss to…Finn took a breath and realised that he was stood in the middle of school hyperventilating. He needed to do something, but he was torn, Kurt had asked him to stay out so as his brother he ought to respect that but what if Kurt was being pressured into something?
Before he had thought it through, Finn was pressing the speed dial on his phone.
"Yes, Finn, which of those five words did you have trouble with?" OK, so it was sarcastic Kurt. Probably a good sign as sarcastic Kurt never got pushed into doing anything.
"I just, well, I mean, dude, isn't it a little soon?"
"What, a little…Finn! You have a one track mind."
"So Blaine isn't there with you?"
"Um,"
"Just, well, just be sure Kurt. Oh and be safe."
"Finn Hudson, listen to me. All we want is some privacy and some time together. Just 'cos you've got one thing on your mind…" Finn would swear he heard Blaine's voice and then Kurt giggled. So maybe it wasn't what he thought, but they weren't as pure and innocent as they made out, they were teenage boys after all.
"So you're sitting at opposite ends of the sofa?" Finn heard Kurt's breath hitch slightly and showed a rare insight. "'Cos you know you're not allowed to be together in your room…" Kurt laughed
"OK, point taken. But, seriously, Finn, we get so little chance to be alone. There are always people around at Dalton, and then you or Dad watching sport in TV. We just wanted to watch a movie together."
"Well, you can do that when the family are there. Or go out to see a movie."
"Finn, even you are not that dense. When you take Rachel to a movie, what do you do?"
"We watch the movie, eat popcorn…"
"Finn" Kurt's voice was commanding and for some reason that tone always made Finn feel like he had to obey,
"OK, we may hold hands" he heard Kurt take a sharp breath and quickly added "and yes, we make out, well if Rachel doesn't get distracted by the movie. So why can't, OH, yes, I suppose it's difficult for you. Any PDA."
"Yes, Finn, we'd rather not come home from a movie slushied or worse. So can you go to Puck's or something?"
"No problem. But Kurt"
"Yes"
"Remember, door open" and Finn laughed and hung up before Kurt could say anything.
