A/N:I love this couple. Nuff said. Short drabble because drabbles are easy. I think this couple deserves more love. -sigh- I do not like counterpart pairing.

It was the same ritual. He'd creep into her apartment and she would feel the shift in weight. His arm will glide over the blue form and she would snuggle into the warmth.

Outside, their nights will be bright. But they play with fire in the shadows.

It was in the night that they wouldn't have to play pretend. She could give up her responsibilities, her expectations, her role. Even if it was only just for one night.

It was in the night that he didn't have to fight. In which he didn't have play the villain. In which he could truly succumb to submission. It was in the night with her that he could be human. Be a regular guy with regular dreams.

Everyone has a secret and she was his. He was hers. They were each other. Because after all, they could offset the delicate balance of right and wrong. So for now, they will dwell in each others warmth. They will forget their duties and they will sleep.

It was in the shadows that they would talk. As if they were lovers. Lovers that were not hiding a secret. It was cruel that the could only love in the night.

After all, what's dirtier than sleeping with the enemy? They were a pair of star-crossed lovers. Romeo and Juliet? Almost but not quite. Partners in crime? No. But what they play is like a game of cops and robbers.

She would dwell in and drown in his presence because it was an obvious fact that he would leave in the morning. He would have to leave before she would wake. He would have to leave before the city wakes and in his trail with be a path of broken dreams because in reality, villains don't have any. They have goals.

She was the physical embodiment of everything he stood against. But did it matter? Because what could the darkness possibly give to the light but a place to shine. He would leave but he would return, once again and she knew.
