My Viking
Book Two
Chapter Nineteen
Eric rose with the setting of the sun.
He growled at Godric who sat motionlessly next to Sookie, watching the slow rise and fall of her chest. "Enough, child," Godric commanded softly.
Eric frowned and moved to the opposite side of the bed as Thomas moved out of the way.
"There were no changes today," Thomas informed them softly, before moving to slip out of the hospital suite.
Godric reached out and squeezed his hand, "thank you," he murmured, before letting him go.
Eric brushed Sookie's hair out of her face as the soft beeping of the medical equipment filled the silence that stretched out between him and his maker. "It's been three days."
Pam shut the door quietly behind her as she entered the hospital room, "here, I cracked into this," she said, holding up Sookie's phone as she scrolled through the contacts.
"What are you going to do with her phone?"
She held up the phone and showed him Alexander's contact information, "I'm making a call," she rolled her eyes and placed the phone up to her ear.
"'Ello Sunshine," Alexander answered the line.
Pam frowned, "Alexander? This is Pamela."
"Vampire Pam?" He laughed in delight, then sobered, "is something wrong?"
"Yes, we need your help, if your willing to be of assistance," she explained, smoothing down her soft yellow cardigan.
"I normally don't mix with vampires," he said after clearing his throat.
"It's concerning, Sookie." She clarified stiffly.
There was a short pause, "I'm listening. Tell me what's wrong?"
"She's comatose, unresponsive to even to the blood of her bonded."
"Where is she?" He asked.
"Amarillo, Texas."
"I can be there in four hours," the line disconnected with a pop.
Pam placed the phone down on a side table and left Eric and Godric alone together.
Past
"Eric," I sighed, as I let him capture me after a long round of hide and seek. I smirked up at him as my back was pressed into the mossy grass of the forest floor.
I yanked at his shirt, watching as he tossed it aside and I bit down on his shoulder. I shuddered as the coldness of his blood burst into my mouth, he growled as I pulled my mouth away from his healing wound with a final lick.
My eyes were bright as my lips crashed down against his in a bloody kiss. "Mine, mine, mine," I chanted possessively mentally, tugging at his blond locks.
I moaned loudly as I climaxed around his fingers.
Present
"She strained her magic," Alexander announced, lighting a few candles around the room. "Sookie. She's always had an amazing talent for telepathy and teleportation but her healing ability has limitations." He explained to the two anxious vampires at her bedside.
He placed flower petals in a large circle on the floor and stood in the center of it and closed his eyes, "well that's certainly interesting," he mused aloud.
Eric growled lowly, his fangs dropping, "what?" He asked, taking a deep breath and forcing himself to put his fangs up. He knew Alexander wouldn't answer him until he did so.
"She's bonded to both of you," he chuckled as he pulled his eyes open, "I haven't seen this before, at least not in the fairy realm." He explained as he pursed his lips together in thought, "now her bond with you, Eric, is much stronger, very deep but that's because she recognized you as her true mate at a young age and with that your bond has had many years of nourishment."
Eric blinked, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully as Alexander turned to Godric, "and while she's always had a connection to you, it's flourished into another bond. What type, kind, remains uncertain."
He held up his hands, locking a snarling Eric into place, keeping him both still and quiet, "now what is certain, is that it will take both of you to wake her, to heal her." He waited a moment before releasing them.
Eric turned, "what was that magic?"
"One of my more useful skills, what did you think all fairies were the same with the same abilities," he snorted, giving Eric a sunny grin, "we're not. Some of us don't even have any abilities at all. Some, like Sookie and myself, are more talented or skilled than others. It's all about training, power, and education, of course."
Godric nodded, "fascinating," he murmured.
"Now, I need your blood, both of yours," he handed Eric a wooden bowl with runes engraved on it, "mixed together please and thank you."
Godric sliced his hand as Eric did his, together their blood spilled in the bowl and swirled together, "more," Alexander grinned, watching as they cut once more into their flesh. After a few more ounces he collected the bowl and moved back into his circle.
He murmured a blessing from one of his many books spread out across the room. "Remove her gown but she may remain in her undergarments," he requested after the blood changed from a deep crimson to a soft red.
"Eric, I want you to reach for your bonds with her, make sure your connection is fully open with your wife, take her in your arms, Godric take one of her hands," he ordered quietly as he pulled a paintbrush from his pocket and begin brushing the blood across her skin in strange, almost artsy patterns.
"Now," he took a deep breath and snapped his fingers, sending the room into complete darkness for a second before the room was relit by the candles as magic poured into the room, "I'm going to rid her of the curse she took on," he said.
He spoke in fae for some time as the candles flickered and the room seemed to hum quietly. Alexander's wife Callie, and Sookie's close fairy friends, Johan, and Sarabeth popped into the room and they placed their own flower petals, dirt and ocean sand into the circle before taking hands with each other and joining together with Alexander.
"And heal her with the blood of her bonds, her husband The Viking and his maker, One of the Son's of Gaul," Alexander ended breathlessly, Eric and Godric watched as their blood seeped into her skin, vanishing before their eyes. "She'll wake soon."
"What was wrong with her?" Eric asked, curling her into his arms protectively.
"She took on a death curse, placed on your maker," Alexander murmured, "she must love you both very much."
"A death curse?" Godric frowned.
"Yes, nasty work by a cruel witch." Alexander's nostrils flared, his wife stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him. "You had no control over what happened to you Godric, do not blame yourself. No one, not a vampire, fae, witch, or demon can fully control the actions of others."
Godric and Eric traded a look.
Callie spoke up, her voice gentle as a summer breeze, "we'll do a little investigating after some rest and see if we can get an idea of where this Witch may be or who it may be. For Sookie."
"Oh. And once she's awake, let her know we expect more baby pictures soon." Johan beamed, he gave Godric a dreamy grin before disappearing.
"Baby pictures?" Godric asked breaking the silence between Eric and him.
