As I was getting ready for bed, a random but intriguing idea popped into my head, oh dear I rhyme... Any who I decided it'd be fun to post a challenge, a Harry Potter/Greek Myths crossover challenge-y thing. I suppose you need some requirements, details, what have you, patience, we're getting there! This particular myth is one of my personal favorites, the story of Demeter that the Greeks used to explain the formation of seasons, the story of Hades and Persephone.
Here is a link to a good summary of the myth
.
Here are some requirements-
Hermione is Persephone
McGonagall is Demeter
Zeus is Dumbledore
Hades can be anyone BUT Lucius Malfoy- he creeps me out and any of the 'light' male characters such as Harry, the Weasleys, Dean, Seamus, etc. You may grumble, but Hades is a dark, but not evil character so this leaves you with the almost any Slytherin you like, but whatever you do, not Crabbe or Goyle, they're just stupid. Preferably Draco or Severus, possibly Blaise (yes, he is male, duh) but I will not condone a teacher/student relationship. They're illegal for a reason!
The story must be novel length, not a one shot or flash fiction. Hades held Persephone in the underworld for a whole year before coming to any compromise, it's gonna take a while. Also you need to describe her (Hermione's) life after being released and forced to go back and her descent into the dark, once again, not evil but feared goddess of the underworld. Also, keep in mind that Persephone was still merciful at times.
A suggested title, you don't have to use it, but you can.
"A Hermione for All Seasons"
The story can be a reincarnation but preferably not, although, I do not want to see plagiarism of the myth I gave you, have fun and happy writing!
